Ate there tonight and got a good steak that I ordered medium rare and it came out well done. I am sure you are asking why 4 stars? Well not only was our server absolutely top notch and asked if she could replace it, and at first I declined and decided to eat it. But by the time I got halfway through it was getting pretty dry and flavorless. About the time that I was regretting my choice to keep the steak, the manager came up, aware of my problem and offered again to replace it. At this point I was kind of full and said yes but may I have it in a box to go? He not only did that, but re-ordered my entire meals and boxed it up free of charge. I must say, owning up to a mistake and then going above and beyond to make it right really made the meal worth while. Plus I get steak again tomorrow. WOO HOO! We only eat here because it's the only steakhouse close by. But being from columbus and having had outback and Logan's and Ocharleys this just disappoints and I can't understand why none of those mentioned above can come to newark. Carry out is Never accurate, when putting together online orders! Ordered to go multiple time, always something missing or wrong. The girls at the carry out desk give you an attitude if you ask for extra rolls and cinnamon butter. Nor will they double check your order for accuracy before you leave. Its here, take your order we're busy, so go.....If you're gonna eat here I recommend going an dining in and using the call ahead seatings. read more

Terrible customer service. Girl at the entrance told us 15 minutes, 40 minutes later I check in and ask what the wait is and she says another 15 minutes. I ask why I was told 15 minutes and she said that I was supposed to be told 55 minutes. Terrible customer service, I wouldn't recommend coming here if you don't want to wait an hour and a half for a mediocre meal. Please educate your hostesses on how to utilize a clock and estimate better wait time. read more

Ate at the Texas Roadhouse this evening. We use to eat at one of these chain restaurants while living in the Deep South on occasion and normally found it above average. I can't really rate this particular restaurant above average. I found my bone-in ribeye to be less quality then in a similar steak at Longhorn. A lot of fat and gristle. I'd estimate my ribeye to have been 30% fat. I ordered rare, and must say the cook did a great job. My sweet potato was so over cooked that the skin couldn't be eaten. My salad had a limp texture, and because the ingredients were cut so small it made it difficult to spear it with a fork. For all that bad, there were some positives. The rolls are to die for (as is the butter). The jalapeño bites were very good. The coke products were fresh and quite good. The peanuts were very small, but tasty. Our waitress was first class. Would we travel the 25 miles to eat here again? No, we would probably stop at Longhorn's and save that gas. read more

We are longtime customers. Most of the time, we order takeout which has always been consistent, properly prepared and believe it or not, prompt. Although mostly takeout, I always give a generous tip to the person bagging our order and I also like to tip the "roll guy" as they seem to be some of the hardest workers there. Part 1: Last night, we were at our friend's home and we ordered 7 meals for takeout. At the scheduled time, we showed up to pick up our food. When we walked in, our order was stacked up waiting for us. Our turn came to pay and the take out server pointed to each container in the stack and tole me what the item was. Normally, they open each container for inspection, but due to the previous consistency, I didn't think anything about it. After going through all of the items (about $80 worth), I was asked "how many rolls would you like?" I responded "10 or 12". The response from the server was "I'll have to charge you extra, it's policy". I was floored! $80 worth of food? Extra? We paid and left as I grumbled under my breath. Part 2: So we get back to our waiting families with the food. All of the orders were in the bag. As they were opened up and all of the condiments were dolled out, we discovered that there were missing dressings, and one of the steakhouse salads didn't have all of the ingredients, and my pork chops were well well well overdone. But, we all ate and we had a good evening regardless. Again, we have been patronizing this location since it opened several years ago. We will continue to do so. However, it was surprising that they limit the rolls to 1 per order. This must be a new "policy" as we have always gotten more. Also, if you eat in, the wait staff always offers "more rolls?" I hope this was a one off experience. read more

Great steak, great service, out of this world rolls and well worth the hour long wait (30 minutes phone reservation and 30 minutes after we arrived). Have been there through the week and was able to get right in... but Friday's and Saturday's you need to call ahead or you will stand around for an hour. People seemed to forget that you could go to the bar (so go to the bar). read more

Average food with a great staff. The food is just fine and I'm bound to go back in part due to the friendly service. I haven't had their steaks yet, but the burgers are well-built and tasty without being great. The chicken sandwiches are lacking something. I am doing this review for those that have intolerance as I do. I like the atmosphere and the food is really good in my opinion. I have gone there three times after I developed my food sensitivities. The best option for myself is a steak without butter and seasonings. Baked potato without butter or sour cream, and salad without cheese, eggs, and croutons with oil, and vingear. However if you are allergic to peanuts or gluten, that place would not be for you. I would love to find more restuntart in my area that have no milk, no egg options. They are very few and far between. Most places only barley recognize gluten free options. The steak is still yummy if you order it nothing beyond medium. read more

We have been to this location many times. Food is consistently good. The service also tends to be good. They are typically very friendly at this location. The restrooms are not the cleanest i have seen, let's put it that way..... if you order decaf coffee, be prepared to get cold stuff that has been sitting in the carafe for an indeterminate amount of time. If your server is on the ball, they will brew you a fresh pot instead of serving that nasty stuff. There are few options for decaf, no sugar beverages. Pretty much water or decaf coffee. read more

6/12/17 was a sh!t show. In all honesty, this applies to most of our infrequent visits. Do they purposely hire the most unprofessional, unfriendly people to work the host station? So we call ahead stating a party of up to 12 will be arriving at 6pm. They took down our name and assigned us a number. As requested we arrived 15 minutes prior to 6pm to check in... checked in again at 6:10, 6:30, 6:45... to really rude and unhelpful hostesses. They informed us that they do not take reservations and for anything over parties of 7, we have the same wait as any walk ins. I don't understand why they bother to take your name and assign you a number if indeed this is the case?! This wasn't the truth, the entire time the hostesses said they had our party down and they were working to clear tables.... 7:10 rolls by and I ask to speak to a manager. He seats us quickly... an hour and a half past our "not really a reservation" to two separate booths where we couldn't even sit together! They apologized but "perhaps we should have known that they cannot comfortably seat a party of 12 together". WTF.... why did we wait two hours to be told this? The Manager came over saying he heard I was upset again ;( offering free appetizers.. We told him we don't need that but if he wants to take it all in consideration at the end of our meals and make any adjustments then that's on him. Good food, good servers.... no discounts at all. By the way, we had a very elderly (couldn't stand for lengths of time) a disabled in the same boat, and a US Marine about to depart to Vietnam. Grrrrrrr.... regardless of this, where is tact, pride, professionalism? TRH has shown me over and over again that it is not in Newark! My last visit. read more

OK, this is not a five-star restaurant, however the food was as good as one might find at a mid-market chain. The sweet potato was truly outstanding. What truly merits the five stars, even for a five-star restaurant was the service. I have dined at five-star restaurants that could learn a thing or two about service from this Texas Roadhouse. 10/7/2017 This was my 2ND time at this Roadhouse in Newark, Ohio. The First time was a pleasant, that is why when my brother suggested it I said, "OK". And first time was 3 years ago. It has changed and very poor food. We started with a combo of appetizers witch portion was small. The first time we order the same thing, and had lot more food then we did the 2nd time. I had a feeling that the servers where trying to rush us out. I can't speak for the other people I was with but I had the pull pork dinner and it was dried out and tasted awful. The french fried with cheese and bacon really bad, it was like no one new how to cook in the kitchen. The servers seem to pay more to there friends and family that was eating there, then someone din't know them(servers). Find somewhere else to go. The Manger should stay in the kitchen and more attention to how the food is made. read more
