Just got home from Texas Roadhouse in North Smithfield. The food was fine, the service was a little slow. The real surprise was the bill. Have been to the North Smithfield location a few times, last time about 2 years ago and it was excellent. Food, staff and the atmosphere was fantastic. My experience today was a complete 180 from that. Walking in the door I was greeted to 2 overflowing garbage cans,literally,. The hostess seemed like she had better things to do and didn't want to be there. All the other staff looked and acted like the were in the 10th grade including a "bus boy" that either had epilepsy or was tripping on something and looked like they found him sleeping behind the dumpster. Help wanted signs all over the place and I can see why. Used to really enjoy the place and atmosphere but I won't be returning to this location anytime soon. read more

I LOVE IT HERE!!! Went here last night for my birthday. Had a server name Mark. Let me tell you he had me laughing all night long!! He was on top of refills, making jokes and getting us whatever we needed before we needed it. He made my birthday dinner special, and kept us laughing all night. I loved the manger Barbara she came over to check on us during dinner and she was laughing with us and was amazing!! I am so coming back here as often as I can. The food here was amazing as well. They cooked my steak the right way, came out very fast as well. The side dishes were amazing too. I will definitely be back as soon as I can. My partner ordered take out from here and I picked it up. Take out at these places should typically be pretty seamless, right? You order, they tell you how long, the price, ask you for the name on the order.. you go pick it up. It was different that day at Texas Roadhouse. There were 3 take-out orders at the same time and this was entirely too much for them to handle. One other lady and I were waiting for our take out orders, when the hostess came out, she had both bags in hand and asked us both to review our orders to "make sure everything is correct". Might I remind you, we were standing out at the check-out stand, where money is handled, out in the open. Isn't this something that is typically done in the kitchen, prior to bringing it out to the floor? The lady and I looked at each other, baffled, and proceeded to take things out of the bag and review our order. Thankfully we did, because everything was wrong!! The lady at the host stand said the ticket machine is broken and thats why they didnt review it inside, yet my receipt was Inside (rather than stapled outside) the bag, detailing my order. Texas Roadhouse - 1. Customer service is key. 2. Please teach ALL employees, not just servers, proper food handling. 3. If you can't handle take out orders, don't do it at all! I will say that the food and drink were decent.  The service from our server was exceptional.  What ruined the evening was the manager of the North Smithfield, RI Texas Roadhouse.  For some reason she found it appropriate to come over, interrupt our dinner and strike up a long conversation with my boyfriend because she thought she recognized him.  You would think that she would know better than to interrupt a patron's dinner for her own personal reasons however inappropriate.  Perhaps she does not have enough work to do, is just ignorant, not well-educated or all of the above.  Either way, we will not be visiting this Texas Roadhouse or any other.  Train your staff to  be appropriate and please teach them some manners.  The staff was better behaved than the management. read more

I got a salad the lettuce looked leftover for a couple of days again... the steak on the salad was ok but not seasoned. My daughters got the smokehouse burger and pulled pork sandwich. They loved the fries but said the burger had an over overwhelming amount of cheese and the pulled pork bun was soggy. We eat the meat but nothing else except the fries of course!! read more

This was probably one of the worst experiences we have had at this chain. First we called in for call ahead seating, 5 hours before we came in! When we checked in we were told we would be seated in 10 minutes, 50 minutes later we were seated! Our two waitresses started out good, but failed very quickly! One waitress took a very long time to get our drink order, and even longer to take our food order. Once we got our food order four of our meals were not cooked correctly, and even after sending them back still not right! One of the waitresses was actually so rude that she handed one of our plates to our table without even looking at us! Bad deal, we will not be going back, ever! read more

As far as chain restaurants go, Texas Roadhouse is top notch! Their steaks are out of this world delicious... like butter! I won't even get into their bread with cinnamon butter (free before/during your meal)... nothing beats it! Great service, great food and drinks... a must try! read more

Have been there so many times. For the person like me who has never been in Texas but always has craving for bbq, this is a decent place to have Texas bbq without physically being in Texas. The service and environment is absolutely a plus. The food will never disappoint you. The only downside of popularity is you have to wait in queue as much as 30 mins before seated. Absolutely the WORST experience at a restaurant and meals we've ever eaten, with terrible service, as well! STAY AWAY! My wife and I were hungry for prime rib. We went to North Smithfield RI Texas Roadhouse. When we were seated, my napkin was soaked from the tray on which it had been placed by the hostess. I requested a new one. We ordered gin and tonics....when they arrived, they were gin and soda water! We told the server, who later (much later, as it turned out), said that the tonic was "old", and they needed to put in a new tank. We both ordered rare prime rib with loaded baked potato, and salad. Mine: 12 oz.; hers, 10oz. The prime rib was served prior to the salad being served. We sent it back awaiting both our drinks, salad, and a cloth napkin! A different waitress arrived with PAPER napkins used for underneath drinks; I explained that I needed a cloth napkin as the original one was soaked, and not usable. The bartender then arrived with fresh drinks (which included tonic), and explained how sorry they were, and the drinks would be removed from our bill (which they never were). There was no salt or pepper on the table, and we requested pepper for our salads when they arrived. The pepper arrived AFTER the salads were eaten (and not by our waitress, but by someone else). When the prime ribs arrived, it was impossible to tell which was the 10 oz and which was the 12 oz cuts. The prime rib was stringy, fatty and poorly "warmed up". We left most of it uneaten. Finally, the cloth napkin arrived with a third server! The manager came by and asked why we were "abusing" her staff, rejecting the paper napkins that had been given to us earlier. We told her about the poor quality of the prime rib, the poor service we had received from 3 servers, the drinks made with soda water, rather than tonic, etc. We told her that we were disappointed with the food, the service, and the ever-changing wait staff, but that we would pay "full fare" for the meal, even though we left most of it on the plate uneaten, and that would be our last visit to that particular Texas Roadhouse. We have visited other Roadhouses, and been generally pleased....but this place was TERRIBLE - from the 1) service, to the 2) food quality, to the 3) management attitude. STAY AWAY unless you are not particular about all three of those items. read more

Nice staff; friendly waiter and waitresses; nice managers. Not good on timing food to table. My wife had her meal at least 5 minutes before me. My steak came with vegetable, and the waiter said sweet potato was coming in 2 minutes. Then the manager came by and said the sweet potato would be 6 minutes. The cook even came out to explain why the sweet potato was so late. Like I said, they were all nice but this is really unacceptable especially without an offer to comp even a drink. Take-outs are hit or miss. First time was great, both steaks we ordered were cooked correctly and everything tasted delicious. Our recent experience was not so great. My sirloin was a hockey puck. Extremely charcoaled and tasted that way as well. It was also extremely tough, couldn't even eat it past 2 bites. The other steak (medallions) was ordered medium; the inside was cooked correctly but the outside was also a bit charcoaled. We also arrived on time (a bit early ) to pick up both times so I am surprised our steaks this time seemed so over-done since we had to wait 10+ minutes for them to be ready. I will certainly give this restaurant another try, maybe on a slower night. read more

I was hoping for a better experience based on reviews, but I was wrong. I'll start with food being that would be the better part. Rolls. Amazing to say the least. I wish I could bring a dozen home. We went early with the grandparents and there was a deal. For $8.99 you could choose from about 10 different options, so price point was good for that. Got the 6oz sirloin which was cooked the way I asked but lacked much seasoning and the steak sauce they have didn't help in that department. For my sides I had a sweet potato, which was good and good sized, and a salad. Now the reason I won't be going back. Atmosphere is bogus. They blast pop country so loud you can't even talk over it. The two tables on either side of us complained about the same issue. The waitress said the volume was "preset" and could not be changed. Then the volume got even louder and the whole crew began to line dance. After that the music went down to a decent level then back up to a super loud level. Annoying. I could complain more on the quirks of the staff but it's not their fault, it's their job. So being that the business model is what it is, I'd rather not return. That being said, if anyone wants to bring me rolls, I won't complain! read more

This is our favorite local steakhouse. The team here never lets us down. No matter the time of time or volume of customers, they are always on point. The right speed of service, friendly service from everyone- from the hostess to the server to the kitchen staff, buspeople and managers alike. The food is always done right, and if ever not perfectly done as expected, they will do everything and anything possible to make it right and make that customer overly happy. Tonite, I got the porkchops since I heard so many people raving about them. OMG now I know why!! Juicy and soft as butter. Just a tad too much seasoning for my taste but still excellent!! Honestly I wish I could rate this place better, my husband and I have come here multiple times before and had a pretty good meal but last night we came here to enjoy celebration steaks after buying our first car together. We were seated quickly, but after that that's where it all went wrong. Once our server sat us he immediately came to get our drink orders while the people were doing their dance and it was so loud and we could barely hear him. We quickly ordered our drinks and meals. My husband ordered the 8 oz sirloin with mushrooms and onions and a side salad and veggies. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and side salad. The food was prepared pretty well considering we were starving. The downfall was that my husband didn't get his mushrooms and onions on his steak, which we just made sure we didn't get charged for. But after that we immediately asked for the check, and unfortunately the server never came back for 15 plus minutes which is unacceptable. We asked another server for help and she eventually got him but the process was still long and aggregating. I don't think we will be coming back to this particular Texas road house unless service seems to change when it appeared to be pretty fully staffed. read more

Passed through the area and happened to find this Texas Roadhouse. Great service, really nice steak promo (Wild Wednesdays). Compared to other Texas Roadhouses this one was right up there for food and service. Salad portions were notably smaller than other Roadhouses but other than that it was fresh and tasty. Steaks were cooked perfectly (I like rare and my wife likes medium-rare)! If we're in the area again we'll definitely consider coming back. read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I have had in a while. Completely dysfunctional staff. One staff member was sitting with her friends in a booth. The manager was yelling in the front of the house about how slammed the kitchen was the bartender needed a smoke brake. The place was dirty. I'm staying dirty not like peanut shells but trash coming out of the kitchen that was visible. Service was awful. With all that said, the food was ok. Never going back. Love going for dinner with the family. They seemed to be holding the yummy buns random as my family gobbled them up and had to keep asking for more. My steak was cooked to perfection so was my husbands. My daughter's ribs were finger licking good. I was a bit turned off by the fact that they list kraft Mac and cheese on the kids menu since my youngest is very picky with her Mac and cheese. It was clearly not kraft. She ended up eating buns and apple sauce for dinner. Still was charged for her dinner even tho she didn't touch it. This particular restaurant has a lot of catching up to do the reputation of the other restaurants in its franchise. The food was terrific like usual, the service and staff were not. Our waitress was very over bearing, she was all small talk and less action. Drinks were bare more often than filled and it took 10 minutes after ORDERING dinner to get our first glass of water.
