Hand-Cut Sirloin*
Grace S.

Okay I had my doubts going to a more "chain" steakhouse but wow I was soo impressed by the steak quality! I got the Sirloin medium rare and it came out with the perfect amount of red and the seasoning added a nice crust to the outside! We also got the cactus blossom to share and it's very crisp and flavorful but is MASSIVE so if you're not a big group expect to have leftovers! Overall a huge amount of food for the price! Our waitress was also very sweet and attentive! No wait time to sit down either

You can always count on consistent food and timely service. That's the one thing that keeps me coming back over and over again. Great price point for what you get.

You can't go wrong with Texas Roadhouse! If you are looking for a steak that doesn't cost $50 just for the steak, this is your place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has the all American Texas vibe inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always crowded and full but the service is always great![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My 5 year olds favorite place because of the games you can play on their little tablet at the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This last time I went I got the prime rib and it did not disappoint! Everyone loves their rolls but this last time we went, it seemed like they had changed their rolls. Hope that's not the case. Bonus that it is walking distance from our house. Also, you can get in the waiting list on Yelp ahead of time so you don't have to go there and wait for 45 mins.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived Sunday afternoon about 4 PM and the parking lot was full and people standing outside. It was so busy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We put our name in for a table and they told us it would be probably 5 to 15 minute wait and I thought yeah right. About 15 minutes they called our name and seated us and the server brought our drinks right away and took our order. Our salads came out right away and we're absolutely perfect. Plus they left us their yummy rolls and butter. Our steaks and baked potatoes came out and were absolute perfection. Plus they brought us more rolls and asked if we wanted to take some rolls home which I couldn't turn down. I forgot our servers name but all I have to say is he was very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant was packed and people were still standing waiting to get in when we were leaving, but they get you in quickly somehow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back to this location!

Food was fantastic and came in large quantities. Our server was great and attentive filling our waters frequently. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was packed but never was overly loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely return!

The world's driest 1/2 Slab Ribs

What an odd experience...my fiancé loves Texas Roadhouse and had never been to the one in Omaha. Right from the beginning, something was weird. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty and we were the only ones waiting, it took them nearly 5 mins to decide where to put us. They wanted us to sit at the bar, but we wanted a table, which was apparently a difficult ask. My Caesar salad was absolutely swimming in dressing. However, the chicken critters were pretty tasty. My fiancé ordered the ribs, and they were all but inedible. They tasted like really dry chicken. He said they were the worst ribs he has ever had. The second star is only because the rolls with cinnamon butter were incredible, as per usual. We will not return.

It's been awhile since we've visit this restaurant so we went there to visit, we were lucky to have made a reservation to avoid the long queue. I might be the odd one here but I enjoyed the pork slab ribs over the prime rib. They're so soft and so tender and it doesn't stick on the bone. I would highly recommend the pork slab ribs.

Gilberts you've been knocked down to number 2. I love the calamari and the dips they came with. It has the perfect chew and wasn't overcooked. It's hard to remember, but I believe my husband had some kind of chicken Alfredo or pasta. He has to write his own review. It was good. I also had a wedge salad, which was delicious as well. The ambience of 402 is nice and seems upscale but at the same time casual. I like that because we weren't dressed up. The waiters and waitresses wore T-shirts and jeans, but the atmosphere is still fancy for a nice date night.

If you get a choice of spots to sit, I would request not to sit on west side of restaurant where there is a long bench seat and tables lined up. It felt pretty close together, a little too cozy for me. The table next to us was in our conversation too often and we could definitely hear their conversation just fine. I'm also not sure what our "Universal Service Fee" was for, but wasn't an outrageous fee. We paid cash trying to avoid the extra fees. In all, it's a good spot as long as you get to chat with your party and not have unintended visitors from neighboring tables.

Most of our group had been to Cheddar's before, and we were all excited to try some new menu items. Overall, the food was a hit. The onion rings came out hot and fresh, the lemon pepper chicken was especially juicy, and the white fish ended up being another favorite at the table. That said, there were a few service missteps that took away from the experience. Two people in our group ordered the white fish blackened, but only one plate came out as requested--the other was pretty bland. When our server eventually checked in (a bit later than expected), we mentioned the mix-up. His response was pretty casual, something along the lines of there just being less spice, and he didn't offer to fix it or have it remade. We ended up just swapping a fillet between the two plates so each person had one blackened and one not. It worked, but it felt like something that should have been handled differently. There were also a few moments where drinks went empty for a while, and our server wasn't around much. At one point, a manager actually stepped in and refilled waters for the table, which we appreciated. Overall, the service felt very laid-back...but to the point where it came across like he didn't care. One bright spot worth mentioning: my salad came out before the meal with a lot more cheese on top than I expected. As I was picking some off onto a side plate, a manager happened to notice and stopped to ask if I'd prefer a new salad without cheese. I explained it wasn't a mistake, just more than I wanted, but I really appreciated the attention and the offer to make it right.

Suffice to say (before reading my long review) it was not on par with the L street location! The staff were definitely new and learning the menu, but that is to be expected any time a new place is freshly opened. Our server, Blake, was nice though and was learning fast. But with a few other servers, there was one thing that did not come about from being a server in a new restaurant. We were eating and could CLEARLY hear the staff around the corner talking loudly and cursing left and right. I am not a prude about language but it's just not something you see every day at a restaurant with families/kids dining. The size of the restaurant seems a little smaller than the L street location, too. That may be a psychosomatic thing when trying a different location of a place you know, but I definitely felt more cramped. The food is on par with the OG spot, so no complaints there. My usual is the bourbon glazed salmon with the cheesy broccoli on the side. So it was just as tasty as the other location, but I think I'll stick to the L street one mostly going forward.
