It was Thursday, nobody felt like cooking, and with one of the kids out at an event, we had a little extra room in the dinner budget. So the Foot family headed over to Texas Roadhouse on Blanding. I used the app to join the waitlist, which showed a 0 to 10-minute wait. We arrived about 10 minutes later, but the app never texted or confirmed anything. I'm not sure whether that's my phone or the Texas Roadhouse app, but it hasn't worked right for me lately. When we checked in, the hostess said they were clearing a table and it would be about another 10 minutes. The place was absolutely packed, so I was already questioning that original wait estimate. Somehow, though, we were seated almost immediately. Our server, Vartan, greeted us quickly and had drinks on the table before we knew it. The restaurant was loud and busy, but that's pretty much the Texas Roadhouse environment. Despite the crowd, Vartan stayed friendly, worked fast, and did his best to keep up with everything we needed. The kids ordered their usual meals: a kids burger, chicken tenders, and fries. My wife ordered a half rack of ribs with a salad and green beans. I decided to try something different and ordered the beef tips over seasoned rice with fresh vegetables. Vartan kept the rolls and drink refills coming, which made the kids very happy. Those rolls didn't stand a chance around our table. The food took a little while, but the restaurant was slammed, so that was understandable. The kids enjoyed their meals, and my wife's ribs looked tender enough to fall right off the bone. Apparently, it's Rib Fest, and she definitely seemed happy with her choice. My beef tips came out closer to medium or medium-well, even though I ordered medium-rare. Since they were chopped beef tips mixed with gravy and mushrooms, it wasn't a major problem. The seasoned rice tasted great with the gravy, beef, and mushrooms. A few mushrooms were a little overcooked or charred, but that may have been intentional. I wasn't a fan of the sour cream added on top, so I scooped it off and moved on with my life. The tableside payment tablet was convenient, especially with our server handling so many tables. There was still a huge line waiting outside when we left, so I was thankful we got seated quickly and enjoyed a good family dinner without spending half the evening waiting. We do love Texas Roadhouse! We've been to this location a lot! My only complaint and negative comment is about the loud music playing (inside and outside)! It's so loud it's actually hard to carry on a conversation at the table. We found ourselves almost yelling back and forth when talking with each other. I told my wife it's like eating dinner at a night club! We had 8 of us tonight for dinner celebrating our granddaughter's 14th birthday. This was the place she picked. Tonight I ordered the 8oz New York Strip (for the first time here). I usually order the Ribeye which is my favorite but I wanted to try something different. The New York Strip had nice flavor and seasoned just right but honestly doesn't compare to the Ribeye! I was very excited tonight because they finally remembered to bring the fries out on a separate basket instead of directly on top of the steak which instantly made them soggy. I HATE soggy fries and always send them back even though I specifically asked for them to be served separately. Tonight they got it right hallelujah! My wife and daughter ordered the Salmon and sweet potato which they loved. Another positive & negative thing that happened tonight; the power went off for here for 5 seconds which cut the music off for 15 minutes. I told my wife "hey we can finally talk and hear each other". The negative was it cut the internet off for a few minutes which caused us to have to wait to pay our bill. As we were leaving and walking out the music came back on; so glad we were leaving! I don't mind music playing but not so loud we can't hear each other. Look it's a chain steak house that has family friendly pricing unlike Ruth Chris or Morton's. So while it's not the best chain it's pretty dam good. The line is usually out the door because well it's pretty dam good. The staff always seem friendly and happy, food comes out fast and hot! Beer is always ice cold. I usually get the filet with fries and green beans, the green beans are great!! I have tried the chili it's not very good but I'm also a chili snob. My wife orders the rib eye, which she really likes. However I'm not sure who's cutting the steaks but the last two times she has ordered a rip eye they gave her a New York strip. Been eating at Texas for years and had never ordered a steak but tonight I decided to get a 6oz sirloin and I'm so glad I did. I ordered mine medium rare. It seemed a little small when I got it but it ended up being the perfect size to fill me up without leaving me miserable. Parking wasn't difficult to find, as I found a parking space upon arrival. I decided to have a steak dish. The steak was very good and flavorful. They refilled every time they saw we were empty, and even brought extra baskets to tide them over. The kids ordered cheeseburger sliders which they also ate. The manager Tim at the store in Orange Park Florida told he he was going to remove it it from my bill, to which he did not!!! Tasty food made to order! This is our favorite of all the standard chain steak houses. Great steaks, chicken, and shrimp. I usually cant pick just one so I get a combo of all 3! The "Road kill" is a nice plate on the less expensive side of the entrees available. Its chopped steak, smothered with sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, and jack cheese. It's a busy place so you may have a small weight depending upon the time you arrive. There is always a line every day they open so we usually arrive about 45 minutes to an hour after if we're looking for lunch. Texas Roadhouse never disappoints! I was worried it would be crowded, so I checked in online in the app before I left my house and a table was ready for me when we arrived! I received a coupon for a free appetizer or sidekick because my birthday is coming up, so of course I had to use it to get a free cactus blossom! I got a side of ranch, because it's delicious! Also, I LOVE the yeast rolls with the honey butter. Tonight I decided to get grilled chicken, green beans, and a baked potato to try to balance out the half of the blossom and ranch I devoured. We eat here at least twice and mostly 3 times a month since this place opened and have picked a steak since the display case was put in. There's been more than a couple occasions where my wife and I picked steaks and thought what we got was different than what we ordered and we saw proof of that a week ago when the steak we picked still had our red tag on it when we were leaving the resteraunt. Service has been hit or miss the last couple of years. Items missed, food served cold or wrong item. Don't know what changed other than it seems to be a constant rotation of employees. The steaks are always cooked perfectly, the bread and cinnamon butter are addictive, the line-dancing servers keep the energy high, and the service is consistently friendly and fast. That's why I'm writing this review--not to complain, but to highlight one very specific improvement that would make an already great restaurant even better: implement automatic 18% gratuity on all parties of 6 or more... Here's exactly why Texas Roadhouse servers should receive guaranteed gratuity on those larger tables: The workload is dramatically higher. Guaranteed fair pay means happier, more focused servers who can give big tables the same legendary service smaller ones get. Less turnover, better morale, and fewer "we're slammed with a big party" delays. Win-win. There are already active petitions and server-led campaigns specifically asking Texas Roadhouse corporate to adopt automatic gratuity for parties over 6 (easy to find online). As a customer who values the people who make my dinners enjoyable, I'm fully behind it and will keep supporting the locations that push for this. My family of 3 all ordered steaks. 3 different cuts. All 3 were WAY OVER SALTED!! My son's medium rare one was more like rare but still edible. My mother had the sirloin. She asked for medium ("pink in the center") and it was well done. I ordered the Ribeye medium as well. Mine was more like medium well-well; no pink. Also our cuts were very thin and tough. I have had ribeye that can be cut with a butter knife. This was not the case with mine. When we asked for the manager, she came over and her apology did not seem sincere and she just made excuses that the cuts of sirloin they have been getting have not been good. She did offer to recook them, but if the cuts are not good, why would we want another one? She did not take any of them off the bill or at least give a discount. At least my dog will enjoy the $100 steaks we brought home for him! Will have to rinse the salt off first!! Not sure I will be going back there. read more

Todays visit to Texas Roadhouse was a very pleasant visit. I loved the way they had everything decorated for the season as soon as you entered setting the tone for a nice lunch. The waitress was prompt and courteous. She went above and beyond with bringing extra drinks before I asked. The peach tea was quite good. I also had the pleasure of enjoying a house salad with fresh veggies, and a great steak and fries cooked exactly as ordered. To put a cherry on top, we mentioned it was my aunts birthday and they brought her a brownie and sang to her. That was so sweet. Definitely a place to visit if you are celebrating with someone. Our waitress was training a new employee and both were pleasant and attentive. My drink never ran out and when I started to slow down on eating, they asked if I needed a box. The only thing that kept them from a five star review was the wait for the rolls up front. The servers were pulling them as quickly as they came up and our servers missed the first batch so we had to wait a bit longer. Overall the food was fantastic and so was the service.
