We walked right in and got a booth. Our server came immediately to take drink orders. Carl got a Moscow mule. I got water. We ordered spicy chicken bites for app and we had a coupon. Carl got steak with 7 pepper seasoning and I got Parm crusted chicken. We both opted for loaded baked tater for the side. The music was low enough to hear and have a conversation. Chicken bites were crispy and juicy. Just the right amount of heat. Parm crusted chicken was juicy and perfect. The steak was spot on medium rare and delicious. Our server forgot our bread, so we asked for some. She was shocked she overlooked it. We ended up portioning off the loaf so we could ask for another loaf. Got a 5 star experience here! My steak with loaded potato was excellent. Cesar salad was very good too! We sat at the bar and were well attended! The peach sangria drink I had was so good! They had a 20 minute wait for 2 people and people were waiting outside and at the front. This location had great ambiance and I have enjoyed coming for years. I order it medium, which it was cook over medium well I would say. The premium side I ordered that you pay more for was like sand bagged fry's I had the server feel them. They brought out the Brussel Sprouts they were the same ones for sure in a smaller dish. The ambience was good but when I opened the napkin with the silverware the knife was disgustingly dirty. See picture. The service was good, our waitress Lindsey was very nice and polite. The issue I had is that I ordered the Salmon with Shrimp and elected to have mashed potatoes instead of rice and she said the meal comes with three sides. Then brought two salads that required a $3.49 cents each and the waitress said nothing about the up charge. I also ordered Brussel sprouts and they were also up charge for $3.49. The sprouts were burnt to the point that I couldn't eat them. We show the knife to the Manager and they comp our appetizer but the surprise of the up charges is a surprise that no customer should receive. More training for wait staff is required. So went today with my wife and was totally ignored by our server. When she finally did bring our food my glass had been empty for a while, we hadn't gotten any bread and the appetizer was brought out with no small plates so a mess was made just to eat it. While sitting being ignored, our server took the table next to us bread twice, refilled their drinks, waited on every table she had and we felt invisible. When I addressed the situation and told her how we felt, she started trembling, eyes welled up and says she was trying to keep her cool. Mind you I hadn't raised my voice, or said one swear word, I hadn't only raised my concern. So I told her well now I'm trying to keep my cool too and the only thing we needed was a manager. So while waiting for a manager, this woman comes to the table with bread and napkins I requested to clean the mess I made trying to eat my app with no plates. She sits that stuff on the table and says loudly is there anything else you need. I said well yes I need to see the manager. All of what she spoke was in a loud tone and attracted attention which we were trying not to get. She says I AM THE MANAGER! I said oh, well did the server tell you what has happened and been said here and she replied "ALL I KNOW IS MY SERVER IS IN THE BACK VERY UPSET!' And talking to me like I did something wrong. I said oh . She is. Well now I am too. So yes just bring us some boxes and the bill. We come here all the time and longhorn always is a good choice, she says well we don't want that to change. And brings a bag, sets the bag and boxes on the table and said your bill has been taken care of and walks off. I said no wait we don't want free food I want to pay for my food. She says no need, it's taken care of and walks off. So embarrassed, my wife and I got up and walked out. We left the food untouched on the table. I wasn't looking for a handout or to be treated like garbage. I was looking to have lunch on Labor Day with my wife and not be treated like second class citizens by a server who may have been overwhelmed with too many tables, and definitely didn't go in there to be talked down to by the "manager" loudly and treated like giving us free food was going to help. Never will go again to the longhorn on Fleming island as long as this female tall manager with her hair in a bun works there who talks loudly and down to her customers who ask for her attention to address a matter of poor service. Consistent is the word to describe this dining establishment! Consistently tasty, consistently clean, consistently professional and courteous weight staff! This establishment is always clean. It does get busy at times but you can go online and join the waitlist and it will tell you how long the approximate wait is. Don't go to this location! I called at 10 and sat on hold for 30 minutes until I got there. The steak was cooked perfectly but it was the Brussels sprouts that really made the meal for me. Sprouts when done right can really make a meal and Longhorn does them right. At 605 pm, our party was seated in a booth. The table was to small to accommodate out group, and 3 of us had to eat our dinners with our plates on our laps. After being seated, and before our drinks were ordered, we watched as they pulled three tables together for another group of 8, that arrived after us. I reached out to the corporate office and the manager. I was offered a gift card for $25 for the inconvenience. The apology from both the manager and corporate office was muddled with weak excuses. We were seated and waited just shy of 10 minutes for a waitress to come by and ask if we were taken care of yet. At this time, I knew something was off because every restaurant has sections, but I also accept that maybe things get changed up. Moving forward. Victoria B started off great with getting our drinks/bread and orders in. At this time I noticed another table of two gets sat in our area and about 5-10 minutes later a table of 2 adults with 4 kids get sat in our area as well. We then receive our drinks and bread. Understanding there are other servers serving in our area. We noticed those tables being attended to quickly. About 10-15 minutes pass my fiancé receives her salad by another server and says she'll be back with my salad. As I sat there waiting on my salad I noticed those two other tables mentioned receive salad, appetizer, and entree. I'm confused how come our waitress hasn't stopped by quickly to make sure we are good. She passed our table 3 times. Yes she was busy, but we also noticed she was more involved with her other tables than ours. Our food arrives , cooked to perfection, Delicious. I let the waitress dropping off our entrees know that my salad was forgotten and a refill on an empty glass that had been sitting at the end of table needed a refill. She apologized and said that they were busy and she was on it. Coincidentally our waitress was right behind her and heard me mentioning my forgotten salad. She immediately apologized and offered a free dessert for what happened. The salad came out quickly and we ate good! As we were eating, the table behind us got sat and they also waited awhile to be greeted by a server. When a server came to ask them if they have been taken care of , they say no. The server then responds that the section wasn't open yet and said that she would take care of them. What it seems, in my opinion, is that no one knew who was doing what table or section. But other servers working the same area, near the restrooms, were taking care of the tables they had and patrons we're receiving their meals with the server(s) checking in, in a timely manner. Just confused by being told busy and section not open yet and then seeing other tables coming in after us and being attended to in a timely manner. Manager walked by twice, even made eye contact with him as he walked by. Victoria comes back in a timely manner and asks us if we need boxes, we reply yes. She offers a free dessert again and we politely decline. We didn't want free food. We wanted good service. She drops the check off and another server drops the boxes off. The food was delicious and thankful that something went right. This experience left us feeling like we need to drive to a farther location in hopes of better service. Sorry this was a book. I had to get up and try Multiple chairs to find one that didn't wobble. I tried so many bad ones in a row I started to think the floor was not level. Table was sticky and hazy. The salads & soup took so long the food came out a minute or tow later. One person at the table was told "hold on, we ran out of spoons. They are washing some". My steak was undercooked, I asked to have it re-heated to medium. It came back shoe leather. The rest of our tables food was mediocre at best. The bread was great.
