Walking inside, the smell of backyard-BBQ hit me right in the nose. I pleasantly smiled anticipating some taste good food was on the way. The guy at the counter found my food rather fast. FIRST-TIME Caller! When I got home I was duly impressed with the sliced turkey - juicy; Mac'n'Cheese - perfect; & collard green - they were too spicy for me. For the price the portion was spot on. Had Bono's for dinner. I ordered online and picked it up. they had just packed it up when I arrived and was asked what barbecue sauces we'd like to have with the order. All of the orders were made correctly and packed nicely to go. They were also reasonably priced. I enjoyed the 2 meat combo of pulled pork and brisket with a side of the Baked Beans and a side of Mac & Cheese. My two other dining companions enjoyed the Smoked Turkey with fries and green beans and the other pulled pork and a side of the Corn Nuggets. We all enjoyed our meal and will be back again soon. read more

I'm not a BBQ fan myself, but my step daughter and her husband (new parents) were at the hospital and were hungry. On our way to see our new grand baby, we picked up their take out order. It took us a little longer than expected to get to Bono's. The cashier called to verify that the order had been placed at the correct location and we were still coming to pick it up. When we arrived for pick up... everything was already bagged and waiting except the beverages. I confused the cashier by ordering an additional beverage which seemed to really throw her off her game. Another employee had to come explain to her that I just needed another beverage and needed to pay for it. Not sure what the disconnect was, but we got it all figured out after a few laughs. The new parents devoured their dinner which, I'm positive, was better than the hospital food they would've had to eat! If I had to complain about anything... the smell of the restaurant would be top of my list! The smokiness just overwhelms people as they enter the building, not just this location, tho! The worst burger I think I have ever tasted. It was so hard it must have been cooked last week. Now I know this is a BBQ joint the one St Louis side rib I had was very good. The Salad with Chicken; lettuce was from a bag and old, like rotten. Dressing was congealed in a togo cup. Waitress; it took 45 minutes to get a burger and a salad with Chicken. No update on food, she didn't ask how the food was, no acknowledgment that it took so long to get our food. When I showed her the chard hard burger she did offer to take it off the menu. The only comment from her about the rotten lettuce 'oh ya they are making more salad in the back... I guess they're opening up a new bag. read more

Had never been to any Bono's but the wife was craving BBQ and this location was right down the street our out house so we decided to finally give it a try. I called in our order. After looking over the menu I knew I had to try the Bo Hawg which is BBQ Pulled Pork topped with Cheddar Cheese and a Sausage Link. Ashley went with the Pick 3 Platter with Pulled Pork, St Louis Ribs, and Fatty Beef Brisket. We were told our food would be ready in 10-15 minutes. When I arrived to pick out our food was ready to go. Once home by Bo Hawg Sandwich looked pretty good. I will say I also kept it simple with my side of Mac & Cheese. The first bite of my sandwich was good. The Sausage was flavorful and had a good snap which I liked. The Pulled Pork on the other hand was pretty bland. I normally don't use BBQ Sauce on pulled pork but this for sure needed it. All and all the Bo Hawg was just alright. Maybe they were just having a off Pulled Pork day. As for Ashley platter it wasn't great. Again already touched up on the Pulled Pork, The St Louis Ribs were not great either. Pretty tough, bland, and for sure weren't fall off the bone. The "Fatty" Beef Brisket was sliced very thin and didn't have a lot of fat on it either again bland. I will say my Bo Hawg was probably 3 stars at best and the platter was 2. Probably not going to be going back to Bono's and will make the drive for better BBQ. On the plus side though their prices are pretty cheap so that's something I guess. read more

This is our regular Bono's and very disappointed after getting takeout. Very rude and bad attitude by young lady taking my order. Baked beans were mush. Our guest left them on their plates they were so bad. Point of Cole slaw was only 2/3 full. We're had 7 adults. Pork was good and chicken. Our purchase was over $80 and I expect better. Since this is our favorite and regular Bono's, I am leaving this comment as a way to do quality control on takeouts and employee training. We will be back, but I will be looking at takeouts very carefully. read more

This was a real bad place to eat. We came in and figured since it was BBQ we would order ribs. They were awful. They were cold, tough and they came out within about 5 mins of ordering. St. Louis ribs are so tender, juicy, and delicious!! I enjoyed the sweet and tangy along with the smoking hot sauce the most. Catfish is crispy, soft on the inside but still maintain the fishiness and freshness, paired perfectly with toast and fries. Sides are quite delicous and very generous amount. My favorites are the green beans, collard greens and baked beans. I placed my order to-go, so I didn't get to enjoy the ambiance there but I do love the open space, plenty of seats and tables for big groups or parties. Service for pick up was a bit lacking, but they are under staffed so it's understandable. The cashier was very polite and knowledgeable, they messed up on my orfer but quickly corrected the mistake. For a chain bbq restaurant, you can't beat Bono's. These wings are my favorite. Ran in for a quick lunch on a time crunch. This location is lightning fast for the lunch crowd. We order from this Bonos a lot at work and it's typically a little slow, but good. With restaurant staffing shortages that's too be expected. Today, I ordered online for my boss and I on my card and went to pick up. When I got there, they said it would be about 5 minutes so I ordered an order of fried pickles to go and paid cash. When my food was up they gave it to me. I got back to the office and got a call from them saying that they had forgotten my fried pickles and asking if I wanted a refund or them remade. Since I could not leave work again to go back, I asked for a refund. Then the girl put me on hold asking for a manager. He came on the phone to let me know he couldn't refund me unless I came up there to get cash. And could not refund me to the card i paid for the rest of the order for. If I could have come back for cash I would have just gone back for the pickles I ordered. I understand there are professes but this was a huge inconvenience to just be told basically I'm out the money bc I'm not able to go back up there. read more

Actually a pretty good place, it look clean and unlike other American Bbq places I've gone, I didn't notice that much stuff on its walls, but you still get that semi-rustic-but-not-quite feel when you get in. On a side note, I like it when you enter a restaurant and you smell food as you should, instead of lysol or whatever. I should mention this more often: since I got out of the car until I left, the smell was of sweet sweet barbecue. The restaurant was spotless, for what I could see, but I could eat without the smell of cleaning products crawling up in my nostrils. I had a 2-meat brisket and ribs plate with the coleslaw and the stew sides. The server was attentive and friendly, the ribs and the brisket were very good, the meat was tender and tasty and juicy; though they are still a few steps away from great. Their barbecue sauces are nice. I particularly preferred the sweet and tangy... the smokin' pit hot and the original tasted a bit too... mustardy? I don't know if they use mustard on that sauce, but to me it had a similar taste. As for the sides, the stew wasn't bad, though I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected, but the coleslaw was on point (Diclaimer: After putting a bit of bbq sauce on it). The server did mention that they have a policy that if you don't enjoy your sides they will change them at no extra cost... I did not need to do it, but it seems to be an option. I left happy and with a bit of leftover for later. My coworker did mention she left with a bit of smoke smell on her hair and that she'd have to wash it later... but you wouldn't change that for a bad bbq, would you? I have pretty much only been here for lunch as I work in the area. I have dined in and ordered to go. I have had sandwiches and their salads. I have to say I am pretty much addicted to the three meat salad with ranch and sweet bbq'd sauce! I also love the hawg sandwiches. For the salad I like that they used mixed greens instead of the iceberg lettuce combo with the Radicchio and stuff. The salad seems to have substance. The service isn't bad but I have gotten an order wrong a time or two. Not bad enough to discourage me from returning though. They do have spots for pickup orders and a side entrance which can make it quick and convenient. The restaurant has always been clean when I go in and the property is well kept as well. I would definitely recommend Bonos for some yummy pit cooked protein :) read more

We called and asked about them, and were told by the owner / operator Jeremy, it was a user error and that the general manager Matt can't "out trump" him We have been coming to this place for years & only have had issues with this guy & yes I'm making a post over 2 drinks. It's not my fault you can't handle a busy food spot on a SAT night. Learn some professional courtesy and decency and not be a jack ass to people over 2 drinks and miscommunication. Had a great experience here. The chicken was very moist and well don't. My son had the ribs and loved them. I had the corn which sounded great but wasn't as advertised. Our server (who was awesome), explained the corn was deep fried and coated with garlic butter and wrapped in foil. The foil left the corn too soft. I've been to a few different Bono's locations and Bartram Park is by far the best food. I usually had the pulled pork and it was ok, but when I tried their brisket, I have not turned back. It is incredibly good. I could eat a whole platter of it if I could afford it. Their green beans are especially good and I always get a side of them. A good friend of mine has gotten the Turkey sandwich regularly and also a hamburger at this location. He said that every time he gets the Turkey at this location, it is never dry, always juicy and delicious. I have had a few coworkers tell me that the burger is really great. I just can't tear myself away from the brisket to try the burger myself. I asked the server why the meat is better in general than other locations, and the server said that they get that question a lot and that the GM just really knows meat and makes sure to have a consistent quality and flavor.
