    Addicting bread

Eran our server was fantastic, give her a raise! The Caesar salad and ribeye cooked medium rare was amazing! Their bread rolls are addicting! Didn't care for the steak fries or Mac n cheese very much

While visiting Florida, we saw that there was a Texas Roadhouse in the area. I have a soft spot for restaurants like Outback Steakhouse and I was super excited to try it out this chain for the first time.  I learned that Texas Roadhouse is known for their warm bread (these were quite tasty and you can get unlimited refills), and that they used to have peanuts in the store in open containers (like Five Guys).  The peanuts are still there but packaged and not as out in the open due to peanut allergies (still a chain to avoid if you have severe peanut allergies though). We ordered the cactus blossom (their version of the blooming onion) and it was everything we wanted and more.  Our group polished this off fairly quickly and the dipping sauce had a sort of tangy horseradish flavor which paired well with the fried onion.  Most of us opted for ribs, one person got salmon and we did various sides and add ons including chili, wild rice, mashed potatoes and a side of their shrimp. The full portion of ribs was quite hearty and most of us had leftovers as a result. The shrimp was grilled well and not overcooked. Sides were pleasant and overall I'd say my expectations were met and we left satisfied and full. This could easily be a spot for two or three people though I think it's more fun coming as a group and sharing sides and appetizers. We got what we came for and I'd visit another Texas Roadhouse when the mood strikes!

If you order no mushrooms, they'll put extra on for you!

Gave it another chance. Last two visits our steaks have either been still cold and raw, or beef jerky well done. Ordered beef tips this go around to avoid that issue all together. Ordered with NO mushrooms. Waiter repeated it back correct. After almost an hour waiting, beef tips came with EXTRA mushrooms and no onion! This branch is making the roadhouse brand look horrible

My friend Angela suggested we try Palm Harbor Grill, where she's had good experiences in the past. The restaurant is located in a strip mall alongside other spots and appears to have been recently renovated. Inside was clean, organized, and nicely decorated. Our waiter, George, was friendly, down-to-earth, and very accommodating. He also spoke Portuguese, which made it easy for Angela to communicate. The menu was just okay. While it offered traditional Portuguese dishes, it also included Italian options, which felt a little out of place for a restaurant presenting itself as Portuguese cuisine. We started with the octopus in garlic sauce 5/5. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp in garlic sauce, served with Portuguese chips and white rice, was a bit of a letdown 2/5. There was very little sauce for the shrimp to soak up, and the flavor just didn't hit the mark. The biggest disappointment was the grilled Portuguese sausage 0/5. It was fatty, cold when served, and honestly inedible. George tried three times to warm it up for us. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive theirs flambéed tableside. Ours came out pre-cut and at what felt like refrigerated temperature. When we asked why ours wasn't served the same way, we were told that presentation style costs an additional $6. Really? I had the sangria, which was enjoyable though slightly on the sweeter side 3.5/5. Overall, I truly wish this experience had been better, especially considering the drive to Palm Coast from Jacksonville. I was hoping for a taste of home, but unfortunately, it fell short this time.

I ordered the grilled wings with buffalo sauce and a steak wrap that came with a creamy worchestishire (worsterchire... Worcestershire... there it is. I knew autocorrect would kick in eventually.) sauce on it. I very much liked the grilled wings, I've never been to a place that doesn't just deep fry them and as a diabetic without a gallbladder, I generally don't get to have wings. It was a nice texture and I rather enjoyed them. I did make the mistake of eating them first though, which was great for the wings BUT not great for my wrap because while the sauce on it was delicious, it made my wrap completely soggy. It would be infinitely better on the side, or learn from my mistake and eat the wrap first so you can enjoy the taste AND the texture. The ambiance is pretty cool if you are into sports bars. There are approximately 114 big screen TVs hanging around the place playing all the sports, and one playing trivia, which is more my jam. The bartenders were all super friendly and the locals were all super nice too. Apparently they do half off wings or BOGO wings on Mondays, which everyone recommends coming back for like they do. This was a very pleasant way to spend the evening when I was visiting a new town by my lonesome.

It's got that perfect mix of sports bar energy and casual family dining. The bar side has the buzz, the restaurant side is a little more chill, and both have plenty of TVs if you're here to catch the game. The staff is consistently friendly and quick, even on busy nights, and the food is always solid. Wings, burgers, wraps -- we've tried a little of everything, and it's all good. (Special shoutout to their fries -- crispy, golden perfection.) When it comes to wings, we're partial to ordering them "well Wally wet" -- trust me, that's the move. The guys love the "everything sauce," which is exactly what it sounds like: a mix of all their sauces in one glorious combo. You can even order all flats for a small upcharge, which is a nice touch for fellow wing purists. We just celebrated our son's 20th birthday here, and the GM surprised us by buying dessert for the table. Totally unexpected and so appreciated! It's little touches like that that make a place feel local-loved rather than just local-known. Whether you're watching the game, grabbing dinner after work, just giving your kitchen a night off, or having a celebration, Houligan's Palm Coast is one of those dependable spots that never misses.

This night, it was a family celebration that brought us in. I had a less than wonderful experience, but I thought it was important to share. We were sat at 4:00 but didn't get addressed by a server until 4:15 or so, with no apology or explanation. The restaurant wasn't busy so it made no sense. We didn't have the cleanest experience, as there was food and other garbage on the floor around us and in the menus, but there was a worker trying to clean around us, so they may have been short staffed. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, got the drinks right away and the apps in a timely manner. We got the Texas Tunion which was saltier than usual but we didn't send it back as the table wasn't visited again until 4:35. At this point, we hadn't ordered dinner yet and were still working through the appetizer. As the table next to us enjoyed their apps and salads, we patiently waited to order dinner. At 4:38 we finally were able to place the order. By now, we were surrounded by dirty dishes and empty drinks. She brought new drinks, took our order, and let us know she'd be back to clear the table. Well, salads were delivered and the dishes were still there at 5:00, but all was cleared at the same time 5:10. Food was delivered to the table at 5:10 and it was delicious. We paid the check just before 6. Why this review? Remember, our perspectives matter, and our experiences matter, and our interactions with others do still matter. One review can hurt. In all of that madness, our waitress worked her behind off. She barely stopped to BREATHE. Instead of us getting upset, we enjoyed some additional family time together. We talked. We laughed. This place that had been so consistent had a bad day, but it happens. And it's still a 4 to me.
