As much as we love TR, we were sad to see the rolls being so tiny at tonight's meal and the hostess group at the front could have been a little more friendly, as the only one who spoke was a little gruff and just told us where to stand without any other acknowledgement -this is the ONLY reason on the 4 stars-y'all gotta be more happy to see customers and more consistent on the roll sizes (There was the one smaller smaller than shown in the pic, but it was eaten.) Otherwise, our server Selina was beyond fantastic and our 6oz Dallas Filets were the best we've ever had out to eat in a long time. (No pic because we were hungry.) To the point of how good they were, we sent our praises to the grill cook. We've been to TR's all over the southern United States. Dont go with large group. We are repeat visitors due to central location. 8 adults 2 kids. 11/30/24 just after opening. Location was pretty empty. After an issue with the hostess and the request to be sat due to elderly in group while two in the group were making their way in. Hostess gained a "power" attitude. Sat group at 2 small tables. (4 in the group are considered very large people). The servers knew this won't work, said there was much better solutions. Couldn't get permission from hostess to move us. They were conferencing on this when we decided to leave. A large tip and even larger bill was lost due to the hostess's power gig. Again, we are repeat visitors with never an issue for seating. My family and I visited the Salisbury, NC location the evening of 11/18. First of all we were informed that the wait would be 15 to 30 minutes. That turned into a 40 minute wait. After we were seated we were met by Eryn who was phenomenal. We ordered meals that came with salads. Eryn had visited our table and filled up our drinks, and about 10 to 15 minutes later she came back to check in on us and we still had not received our Salads. This had been 25 to 30 minutes after being seated. After checking on our salads they came immediately out. It wasn't 2 minutes after our salads were delivered our entrees were delivered. This is a major pet peeve of mine. I have to leave my meal on the table and it cools while I'm eating a salad that would traditionally be brought out before the main entree. Based on this experience I'm not sure I'll be back to this location. The music and atmosphere was great but the wait, and the time it took to get our salads and the meal coming right behind them just ruined the experience for us. The manager did visit our table and offer to comp us an appetizer or give us a free desert, but we didn't order an appetizer and we declined the desert. I sat at the bar for my meal. I'm used to the bartender making some casual convo but that didn't happen here. She was nice but I wouldn't describe her as friendly. Before arriving I was worried because of the Yelp reviews. I do not understand from my personal experience why there is so many negative reviews. Our waitress was Molly (blonde hair, tall woman). She was absolutely amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. We had our food out so quickly and drinks refilled almost instantly. We were there for maybe 40-45 minutes in total. We had our drinks out immediately and our appetizer about 5 minutes after our waitress put in it. Our food came out about 10 minutes after the appetizer. I had told our waitress that my birthday was yesterday and at the end of our meal she and others came out singing to tell me happy birthday!! A totally welcomed surprise! She made sure everything was good throughout the time we were there and told me about the gift card deals at the end of everything. The menu should have print that reads we are charging more and serving less. Weak is the word that comes to mind for this meal. The chicken was flavorless, regardless of this brown salt-like sauce. The fries must have fallen off the plate or the cook was hungry considering the empty space on the plate. I do have to give our server Ashely a huge shoutout. She was slammed, but never lost her kindness and smile. Great job Ashely. As for Texas Roadhouse as a whole, the stars and quality continue to dwindle. Not sure if a return will happen this time. I really wanted to LOVE this place but I left disappointed. When I mentioned it to my wife afterwards- she also felt disappointed. The night started off good. We got on the waiting list via the Yelp app! We got in and were seated promptly. After a short wait our server took our drink orders. Our drinks came out quickly by a runner and mine was good and correct. My wife's drink was incorrect and included an extra shot in a tube that we didn't ask for(it was an extra cost). Our server removed the shot and the extra cost but she was still stuck with the incorrect mixed drink. We ordered our food. The rolls were good but I wish the butter wasn't sweet. Our salads were really good and fresh. My bleu cheese dressing was great and I tasted the honey mustard which was also good. The tiny grape tomatoes in the salad were really fresh and were a nice surprise. Then the main course arrived. Both baked potatoes were underdone. They didn't have a soft creamy texture. Our steaks were both undercooked. Mine was supposed to be medium. It was probably medium-rare. My wife's steak was supposed to be medium-well. It was rare. We waited for our server to come back so we could sent them back(which we never do) but she didn't come back. We ate AT our steaks. The very edges were doner than the center. Our server finally came back by to bring us the check. It took a while to get the tequila shot that we didn't order removed from the bill. We were seated and rushed to order, received bread & drinks. The waitress never came back after we placed our order. Music was extremely loud. We got our steaks which were barely warm. We could have used A1, bread, maybe a return visit to check up on drinks or how the food was, etc. We had to get our own boxes and bag and waited for the bill that never came.
