One of our many visits and today using a gift card we had. The parking lot packed but we got in right away. Friendly host staff and waiter. Waited on right away and ordered two smokehouse burgers. The most tender ground beef perfectly cooked med rare and topped with luscious mushrooms, sautéed onion, bbq sauce, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and steak fries on the side. It was $13.85 and so much food and hot and tasty! Restaurant was clean and ample wait staff. Mom and I stopped into the relatively newly-opened Texas Roadhouse last night for dinner. We thought we'd be smart by visiting on a Wednesday at 5:30, a time we thought might be dead. Jokes on us, turns out this place is NEVER dead! We signed up for the waitlist on their app and it was super responsive and helpful by letting us know when we were up next and to enter the restaurant. Once inside our wait was less than 5 minutes. We stood by the fresh meat counter and saw the in-house butcher cutting the fresh meat they serve. We were seated at a two-person booth, which was nice. They are staggered in height from the tables across the wall so we were not in each others' faces. We counted ourselves lucky to have the ONLY server who was wearing a mask, and thanked her for it. The menus and sauces are on the tables already so you don't have to wait or ask for anything. Plus they automatically bring out the sweet rolls and cinnamon butter, with complimentary refills. I started with a beer, and loved the giant chilled mug - the beer even had a little layer of slushy ice on the top which was awesome it was so cold! They had several typical draft beers available, and some specialty cocktails. We both got filets, and they came out cooked PERFECTLY. For sides we got a house salad, a baked potato, mashed potatoes/gravy, and corn. The mashed potatoes were really salty, but I still finished them. Their homemade steak sauce was a little too sweet and pretty watery, so I skipped it. But even with the three huge beers, then copious amount of rolls...I still finished everything on my plate. The only thing was that there were about 10 birthdays in the hour we were there and it was very obnoxious - nothing you can do about that, and hardly something to really complain about. I must say our experience was AMAZING!! We had the greatest service with our server Kim. She made the experience as no glass ever saw half full. Kim talk about the menu and really educated on the most favored items. We'll definitely be requesting her next time! The food was beyond our expectations and I highly advise the prime rib dinner w/Mac and shrimp. Prime Rib - It had a hint of smoke but not overpowering the beef flavor and seasoning crust was on point. The chefs cooked to perfection as requested. I'm the type of guy where I say "Just wipe the cows ass and send him to my table" lol then my wife punches my arm as she's embarrassed. Mac and Cheese - The noodles were done al dente "as they should : )." with a punch you in you face of that salty goodness. The cheese sauce was American Cheese and was absolutely gooey amazingness!!! Loaded Baked Potato - Not your average Tader as it had the big sea salt crust all over the potato, Let get real here people as you didn't come hear to lose an inch on your waist or consider your blood pressure. Went on a Friday night. It was packed and felt like a cattle pen. After 75 minute wait, we were seated and ordered drinks. My martini arrived in a glass that was half full. I pointed this out to the waitress and she called the manager over. This was the rudest manager I've ever talked to! He stated that their recipe calls for 2 ounces of vodka and whatever else and that's just the way it is. I asked him how he thought it would look if I posted a review with a picture of my half full glass. He said "are you threatening me"? in a very nasty tone. Asked if I wanted something else, but by then I was done with him. Took a sip of the drink and there was no alcohol in it. The very kind waitress got me an entirely different drink. The food was excellent and so was the waitress. However, the atmosphere was so loud and overwhelming. Needless to say, because of the nasty and rude manager, I will never be back. In overall , food was awful, customer service was even more disappointing and not professional. The waitlist is total a bs. Do not rely on that you would expect to wait for another 30mins or an hour at least. We went on Saturday which is a bad idea to begin with. Since we have a large group, we called in at 2pm for a reservation at 5pm for party of 9. We were told to call back at 3pm and called back at 3pm we were told to call back at 4pm and finally got our name down for 5.30pm reservation. We were told that they will be one party ahead of us finishing up at 5.15pm. When we arrived at 5.15pm, we were told to have to wait for another hour. Because they just sat another party down. What a bad start! Poor planning for waitlist service to begin with. We Waited for an hour and finally got sat down. Since we have an infant sleeping in the car seat, we asked for extra chair and we were told that there is no spare chair in the restaurant at all. Come on, if somebody broke the chair, meaning you are gonna tell ur customer that you can no longer serve them cause u don't enough chair ?! This is the most ridiculous reason I have ever heard. We sat down, and got our order in and guess what our leamonade came without ice?!... We had our steak ordered for medium, it came out medium well or even well done for every order. And then we asked the manager to replace it. The second time it came out half rare and half medium?! We asked to recook again , it again became well done. We just took it cause the kids were hungry. When we paid our bill in 3 different checks, our credit card got mixed up and swiped for different checks. We stacked each individual credit card with respect to the check individually. How could the server got it all wrong ? The meal was not pleasant, and the service was awful. For the first time and last time, I probably would not go to this location for Texas Roadhouse. The entire system needs to get better set up and more organized, waiter/waitress could have been more trained and professional instead of arguing the entire restaurant would not have extra chair for spare and have the manager to talk to us?! My family and I have been to this location many times. A pro tip is to download the app and get on the waitlist before you leave your house in order to reduce the actual wait time when you are at the restaurant. The atmosphere is loud and fun, but family-friendly. Each Texas Roadhouse has a hanging mural to pay homage to the area that the restaurant is in. This mural features Minnesota's Largest Candy Store, which isn't exactly in Shakopee, but is more family friendly than featuring the nearby casino. Staff periodically do a line dance in the middle of the restaurant, and will bring out the saddle for birthday guests to sit on and have the whole restaurant say "yee-haw!" but only if you're so inclined. The food is very consistent each time we come here, starting with the bread basket. Their steaks are phenomenal and I would argue they're better than steaks at some fancy steak houses. My new favorite is the steak kabob, which is flavored with a tangy marinade. You get bang for your buck at Texas Roadhouse, and this location's got it together. Very seldom do we have hiccups when we come here, but when we do, they're quickly made right. I imagine we'll keep coming here in the years to come. read more

So, I've been watching the progress of the new Shakopee TRH for a while now. Every week bright a smile to my face as it neared completion. Just arrived home from lunch with my best friend. Sign of a good meal? Immediately changing into sweat pants because I'm so full!! Sometimes a meal is so good you don't want to stop eating. I'm totally guilty of that today. First, our server Alexandria was TOP NOTCH!! Great person and fun personality! She gave great recommendations and is just an all-around great server. She made the meal more enjoyable than it already was. Second, the food was outstanding! Obviously the bread and butter is a winner. The rest of the food is great, too. And the portions are definitely Texas sized! I had the 6oz Dallas Filet, medium with some sautéed mushrooms on top...it was like butter!! It melted in my mouth. So tender. I HIGHLY recommend it! For one of my sides I had the loaded baked potato...which is why I'm over full. It was so good I didn't want to stop eating it. My bestie had the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and rice. She really liked it all! Especially the rice. One thing we both noticed is the dipping sauce for the tenders...it's not some tiny amount in a plastic cup. Nah, there's actually enough to dunk your tenders in! Third, the drinks. Yowza! So tasty! I had the hurricane margarita. It was huge and VERY yummy! I will definitely be going back soon! My last visit was so awful, I would rather get dinner at the Petsmart nearby than eat here again. Seating/hosting? 1 star. I had 7 guests so per website instructions, I called early that afternoon instead of signing up for the waitlist. I still got entered into a Waitlist system though, but we had arranged to be there at 6. At 6:15, we got the buzz to wait by the host station because our table was almost ready. FORTY MINUTES go by. Forty minutes of just standing. No updates. No apologies. (Also, my father has trouble standing that long - but even if he didn't, this was a ridiculous time to wait while standing up.) I asked what was going on - I was told the other party didn't leave the table yet. Terrible flaw in their process; don't tell us to stand by the podium until the table is getting bussed. Then we get brought to our table at the back of the restaurant.... and there is only room for 6. It's a booth with room for a chair on the end, but they had the place setting *but no chair*. The host walks off, and it took 3-4 minutes to get a server's attention. So awkward! Food? 2 stars. It's okay, nothing great. Service? 1 star. Our food was taking a long time and our waiter basically told us he "wasn't fast" enough to get to bread. The only reason we got any rolls is because a manager noticed and made sure to get us some. He was also really slow to take orders, didn't really check in (not even to ask if he wanted another round of drinks), and he was pretty unconcerned about issues. (Also, if he was slammed, he didn't show it - he was standing around chatting at least 3 different times.) We also had to wait a long time for the check. Drinks? 1 star. I ordered a long island, and got something that tasted like pure sour mix. It wasn't just bad - it was undrinkable. I sent it back for something in a can, just to be safe. (And I am not the kind of person to send stuff back - I can usually sip my way through a bad drink, but not this one.) Note: I still got CHARGED for that long island on the bill. I ordered "beef tips" and it came with mashed potatoes, vegetables and buns. The meat was tough, a lot of chewing. This prompted me to ask the waitress what cut of meat it was. Turns out it was sirloin. Had I known this, I would not have ordered it. I guess I assumed that because it was $17.99, it would at least be a step up from what I got. I mean I did not expect tenderloin or the likes but didn't expect the lowest grade either. I decided to ask another waiter the same question. The seasoning on it was also too salty that I couldn't bear to eat the mushrooms on it.the corn and green beans are meh. The canned ones from the grocery store are better. Just heat and add butter. My family had the absolute worst experience here. Every 30-45 minutes they would turn up the music so loud, that you couldn't hear the person next to you. I had a three month old who was inconsolable due to the volume of the music and they refused to turn it down. We asked them multiple times. They (a server and the Manager) just told me it would be over soon. They do not care about families or small children. We've been to multiple locations, in different states, and never experienced this. I will not be going back ever, and would not recommend it to anyone with small children. read more

Very nice steakhouse not far off the interstate and easy to find! Went on a friday night for a birthday. If you go on a friday and have a big party, I would definitely suggest reservations! The place was packed, however, they had plenty of servers who are all accommodating and friendly! Kimmie was our server, a little lady but full of friendliness and excitement. She really seems to love her job! Started with the cheese fries. Fries are the thick style like Red Robin uses and then are LOADED with cheese and bacon bits. 2 people ate this and there was plenty for take home! Had the smothered chicken. Options are mushrooms and carmelized onions. The onions were a little too cooked, almost to the soup stage but still had a great taste! Very generous portion sizes. The chicken was about 6 inches long and with it you get 2 sides. I recommend the seasoned rice! It was delish! My brother had the 16 oz hand cut sirloin. Done to his liking, perfectly medium. Did the apple pie, and the brownie. Had the Kenny's cooler which is similar to a blue hawaiian, very good. When we first walked up , it seemed super busy , but we were seated very fast with fresh rolls in stow. The rolls were super fresh, and the waitress brought us a second basket , and sent us some to go home . The service was a little slow, and our actual meal took quite sometime to be prepared . I ordered the filet medallions that come served on a bed of "dirty" rice and you get two sides . My choices are Caesar salad and loaded mashed potatoes . The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, the croutons were light with a nice crunch . Yum. The loaded mashed potatoes are an absolute must , topped with airy sour cream, bacon and cheddar cheese . Talk about America at its best . I asked for a side of country gravy for dipping , this is as not my fave , it was a little on the sweet side . The rice was also very flavorful and done well . I ate this left over and my steak that I ordered medium rare , was honestly still just as good reheated in the microwave . One of the best steaks I've ordered out in awhile . The decor is fun to look at, country western themed . I will definitely be going back . Side note : they clean/ sanitize the table before being sat. It was quite wet , like wet, wet . Ordered drinks got them wrong but offered them to us as they made new then the manager told the server to go get the drinks so he came and got them back and said we couldn't have them. we waited 15 minutes for new drinks. Ordered ribeye all under cooked and mine had two hairs under it. Told server he took it and then came back with my sides and told me they were making a new one. I told him I did not want it. Brought it in a to go box and said he was told to give it to me. Was charged for it and told server I was not gonna pay for a steak I didn't eat. He went back to manager and she told him to take 15 dollars off. I'm baffled at why I would be charged for a steak with hair on it I didn't touch.
