I haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse since 2020 (in Wyoming). While a busy Friday dinner hour may not be the best time to rate a restaurant this particular Friday eveninlg was. The parking lot indicated this was busy, the house looked full yet when the 2 of us walked in it we were 2nd in line and we were seated in less than 5 minutes by a lady that put freshly heated rolls with sweet cinnamon butter at our table, a nice touch. We were offered beverages within momentsl and as busy as Roadhouse was our orders were taken in a very reasonable amount of time. At this point the service was great. My roomy ordlered a Strip Steak w/baked potatoe, I ordered the Steak Tips (rare) with mushrooms and onions & brown gravy. Even though I asked for my Steak Tips rare I expected them to be anything but. To my surprise my Steak Tips were cooked perfectly and rare as well as being a perfect fork size. In the mean time, the warm rolls and butter made return trips without request. Let me note here my September 2020 stop at a Texas Roadhouse in Wyoming was every bit as accommodating and my Ribeye there was also perfectly cooked. Even though Texas Roadhouse may not be a $200+ per head establishment,I'm giving Texas Roadhouse in Tracy 5 stars for the $200 a plate quality personal satisfaction of our service and enjoyment of my food. Brought my dear friend here today for lunch and we had a wonderful time!! Our waiter Boswell was so nice and so sweet and friendly!! I wish all waiters were as nice as him!! I've been to another location before and was impressed. But this time was even better then I remembered. We came around 1pm on a Friday and it was crazy busy, so they told us it would be about a 15minute wait. I don't think it was even that long, but either way the food was definitely worth the wait. The only negative thing is they put 5 of us (4 over 200lbs) at a 4 top booth and just added a chair at the end for my brother to sit. So it was a little tight squeeze. Our waitress, Jessica, was very sweet. We were asking about some ingredients on the menu and she knew all of the answers. The pictures I took it doesn't look so pretty...but the food was amazing. I went to grab one of my ribs and the bone came out completely clean! We had 2 ribeyes for the table and both were very juicy and cooked to how we asked. The rolls here are amazing with the butter and everything. The sautéed mushrooms on the ribeye were flavorful and cooked perfectly as well. The rattlesnake bites and chicken both had a little kick to them. They weren't greasy either which was nice. Definitely getting those again. The baked potato and corn were standard. Just dinner tonight at Tracy Texas roadhouse Parking was available near door. Big spaces . .not small ones to back into. Service from the time we entered door till we left location was best . Our hostess seated at bar area.this was plus. The upgrades to bar counter look great. Our waitress was very attentive to my family tonight. Drinks made it quick followed by appetizers. Orders were made special by our generous hostess Wife chicken fried steak and sides ..perfect.. Son beef tips perfect.. Sons porterhouse cooked to perfection. My steak and shrimp .amazing...steak fries and located potatoes amazing. We were only able to finish part of meal. Saved half for latter. If you like a loud and busy atmosphere and big portions, this is the spot for you. Parking was a waiting game; wait for someone to leave. So, its quite a popular restaurant. The rolls kept on coming, but we were good with our first basket. We wanted to save room for our meal. The onion appetizer was greasy, but good. The ribs were dry and the steak was nothing to rave about. We took half of our food home and it wasn't any better the next day. One star because they sing happy birthday to you if its your birthday. All 3 tables around us had been seated, served and 1 table arrived, ate, and left. The excuse? "There was a party somewhere else." This place is always insanely busy. Parking is an absolute nightmare before about 9pm. Apps: Potatoe skins with Jalapeños, and rattlesnake bites (cheese balls with Jalapeño chunks). Can't go wrong with these choices. Ceasar salad had just the right amount of dressing. The chili was ok. I had to add a bunch of black pepper for proper seasoning for my tastes. Pulled pork was decent. It could have used some more sauce. Would stick to the chicken or steak. My wife had the petite sirloin and it was on point, perfectly cooked. We started out with reservations arrived and wait about 10 minutes. This is when it went south. We get a text our tables ready we go inside for a table of 5. We are greeted and told to wait to the side. No big deal but we wait......and wait....and wait...we see a group as big as ours come in after us and get a table and we're like what's going on 10 minutes had gone by...so we go back to the hostess and she explains oh your table has been given away. GREAT! They were quick to get us the next table so we are greatful and were following the hostess to our table and it's a low wmaller table then the surrounding ones but not big deal, there was 5 of us and only 3 chairs at the table. 2 of us had to wait for the host to bring 2 more chairs. The chairs she brought are higher than the table and it was super awkward to have used. We mention it to her and ask for a different table. It was packed for a Sunday evening at 6pm so we understood but at the same time we felt like you gave our table away, if it's your mistake fix it. She explains there are no more tables available and we needed to be out at a certain time we accepted the table if she could find the right chairs. She came back with folding chairs that fit the height of the table and let it be. Food was delicious as always and our server was pretty consistent for the most part. The food was SOOOO salty I don't think we can eat here again. Our order got messed up 3x, & for being "not busy" at 2pm they cramped the whole restaurant where you can barely walk. So I go to click cancel and the button has now disappeared 3 seconds later The server has to awkwardly tell us it cannot be cancelled unless they call corporate. The service was awesome besides this and I feel bad for the servers who now have one more thing added to their plate, pun intended. I had a wonderful time here tonight, the wait staff were all incredibly friendly and the food was very good, although that is biased as my job was paying for the meal so I got the rather expensive bone in ribeye meal. The steak was cooked wonderfully and as I wanted it. At our table 4 people ordered a medium rare ribeye and 3 of these came back with a slightly thinner cut that favored closer to medium while one person had a thicker cut, despite being the same item ordered, that was a good deal more "bloody" looking. (By the way, this isn't actually blood that you see on more rare cooked steaks, but a common misconception). This is not a complaint, as the waitress asked us upon receiving our food to cut into it to make sure it's cooked in a manner we're satisfied with, and we were all happy with our steaks, I'm just commenting that there may be variation in the "same" item based on a bit of luck. The free rolls are good, but everyone hypes them up so it's no surprise. The fried battered onion appetizer is solid, but I personally wouldn't wish to spend the amount they're asking for an appetizer For sides I got the loaded baked potato and the house salad with Italian dressing. I think it's worth it to upgrade for the loaded potato. Baked potatoes are often hit or miss for me and can be rather dry, but this one was super delicious and I would absolutely get it again. The house salad is very good with a bunch of little add ons of egg and cheese and baby tomatoes and whatnot but what surprised me more was the Italian dressing which was surprisingly good and on the sweet side which I enjoyed. I don't know where they get it but I really enjoyed it haha. The atmosphere is very fun, laid back, and friendly and just in the hour and a half I was in there, there were two birthday announcements where the whole crew go and make a big deal out of announcing it and wishing you a happy birthday. I guess if you're sensitive to loud sounds that could be bothersome as honestly there's a steady stream of chatter and noise that can make it a bit hard to hear someone at your own table All in all, very enjoyable and I would definitely come back again, but for something a big cheaper. My friends and I had a great lunch here recently. We got there at 1130am and the place already had a line out the door. I seemed that they did not have enough waiters for the early shift. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once we got seated though, our service and meal were fantastic. We started with their great rolls and honey butter. The host brings them to the table when you sit down. (The waiter brought more later.) The rolls are soft and fluffy and have a good buttery flavor. I order a filet mignon with mushrooms added. My two sides were a side salad and steamed veggies. The salad was a good start to the meal. I added bacon and avocado to it. The salad was good sized. Loved the ranch dressing and all the toppings. My steak was cooked how I like it - a bit pink inside. It was very tasty. Nice grill flavor and whatever seasoning they put on the steaks. The mushrooms were nicely sautéed. The steamed veggies on the side were basic veggies but nicely cooked. No room for dessert! Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. He brought refills of rolls and sodas without asking. My steak is ALWAYS cooked perfectly! The service is awesome, and fast. I've gone there with my husband, and I've also gone with bigger groups (up to 16 people). They have given the same service regardless. The lunch special between 3-5 Monday thru Thursday is a total steal! The fresh bread and cinnamon butter just puts you in a good mood. Excellent Christmas Eve dinner with our family. The place was busy but moving along, no wait time. The waiter was super nice and helped with making our day special. He was right on with checking in on us and asking if anything else needed. Was quite surprised by the quick serving of our food. The food was excellent, fresh, hot and delicious. Took home leftovers. Well if you want to receive your meal as ordered definetly do not order online for pick up. I can say out of the last 5 times we have ordered Texas Roadhouse for pick up they are 0 for 5 in getting the order correct. The bad part is you usually do not figure out your order is not right until you are across town already home. Or you had one of your kids stop and pick it up on their way home. I take full responsibility for this but I want to let everyone know order on line at your own risk because they will fuck it up!!! Normall when I order a prime rib, the usually either forget one of the sides or the AuJus. Tonight I got the AuJus and actually they even gave an extra one, which I was surprised. but then when I opened the plastic tray I have an extra charbroiled sirloin steak. Dinner completely ruined. I did not even feel like eating at that point. My wife ordered the Steak house salad with no red onions and no cheese. To no surprise what did the salad have on it. Red onions and extra cheese. I called twice and no answer. I'm done with this Tracy location. I'd say I've been to this location about 7 times in the last year and each time has been great. The staff are always attentive, generally happy to work there and accommodative to our requests when it comes to slight food modifications. Today was my first time using the to-go window in the middle of Christmas Eve when they had quite allot of customers. Alexa, a young lady with a great attitude and warm smile took the time to make sure my order was right without making me feel rushed. She genuinely seems like she cares about her customers because she worked some small talk in between my order to ask how my day was going since I'm pretty sure I looked stressed ( I was ) lol. I was able to get in and get out in less than 25 minutes. I'm sure that took allot of team work on their end. This restaurant is an absolute abomination to the Texas roadhouse chain. I am not expecting a Michelin star meal, but the medium rare I had was beyond bloody and red I could barely chew. My wife had half a prime rib that was completely fat on the other side. As a person of color, I find it a little ridiculous that our white counterparts behind us were asked if everything was all right three times where we weren't asked a single time. Came here on Monday, March 4th, 2024. My family & I came around 4 and it wasn't too busy & us 3 got seated right away! The hostess was nice, got us a larger table for the 3 of us (1 baby). We pretty much knew what we were craving but still looked at the menu & they had a good selection. Once our server came, he was polite & welcoming and came with our bread & butter; which was addicting! He then took our drink order & came back with the drinks then took our food order. Our food came with in with good timing! Everything looked good. I got the combo platter with BBQ chicken breast & ribs with my sides of Sweet potato & chili. My fiancé got a steak & shrimp (which I will not be reviewing; not my food, but she liked it nonetheless). The chicken breast was tasty! Not dry at all, but not the moistest, but was still good & paired well with the BBQ sauce. It had a good chew to it & cut easily. The ribs were delightful! I am a rib man & know how to make ribs myself at home & these were splendid! They were fall off the bone good. The sauce it came with was possible the same sauce as it was on the chicken, but a bit charred as well from when it was being cooked which is a plus. Amazing ribs, and it's pretty hard to find good ribs outside, when you know how to make them right at home. The sides were good, too! My chili was topped off with some chopped red onions & cheddar cheese which melted into the chili & had a nice cheese pull. The onions added a bit more flavor & a crunch which added to the chunky chili. What I loved about the chili was the actual meat that was inside, not that Wendy's chili. The sweet potato was amazing too. It was topped off with some mini marshmallows & well not much else to explain; sweet potato & melted marshmallows, I was having a blast. The reason why I could not give it a full 5 stars was the service. Now, it wasn't bad, but it was a bit off. He started off great, but didn't really talk to us any other time after that. He would come by and refill our drinks, but didn't really check on us much but thankfully we didn't need much either. He did come later on & asked if we needed boxes, in which I did because I brought home my leftovers & still enjoyed my ribs the next day, which were still nice and tender & fall off the bone after being microwaved! This is the best bread you'll ever put in your mouth. Add the cinnamon honey butter (or whatever it is), and you've got one thing to make you return. You're asked to choose a steak before going into the restaurant area. This is a fun selection process as you look thru a refrigerated storage area window. I enjoyed the food, but I was disappointed in so many other ways. They only serve dinner, so it opens at 3pm. They had a line built up about 10 min before opening. Then they got busy FAST. The salad didnt have much dressing but it was good. I didnt know bacon was an extra 70 cents ( found out at the payment module). It's a good size and decent to even share. I was offered a test flavor for a new margarita which hit the mark, but wont get you buzzed even though it's 18oz. Nothing wrong with that. It had lots of flavor and tajin on the rim. The service was very ... inconsistent. I wasn't seated at the bar but the bartender was also my server. This was a mistake. She was busy making some kind of mixture or doing lots of other tasks rather than focusing on the customers at the bar, and myself. One of the managers did stop by my table to check on me, and I did appreciate that. The steak was cooked to perfection. I asked for med rare and that's what I got. The chili was a bit cold. The cheese didnt even melt on it. I was disappointed but that's also a factor of having just TOO many items on their menu. I'm shocked they they dont have Mac n cheese as a side. Missed opportunity there. The brownie was hard as a brick. I didnt even finish it. The bartender didnt ask if I liked it. Normally when someone doesn't finish a dish, you ask if they need a box or didnt like it. Neither of those things happened unfortunately. The bathroom had standing water in the sink. This also means they do not clean it hourly or on some consistent basis. Another great experience at this location. I was seated a few minutes after arriving and greeted by my server Carolina immediately after getting comfortable at my table. What I noticed is that Carolina is very organized. She is very professional, friendly, and always prepared. I didn't need to ask for anything because she thought of what I needed before I had the opportunity to ask. Everything from waters, plates, utensils, condiments, and even a refill on bread. All items hit the table in perfect time. She was always readily available and frequently checking in to make sure I was enjoying my experience which I did! I've been coming to the Texas Roadhouse twice a week, maybe at times more, for the last six weeks as I am here on business. Everytime, prior to tonight, has been a good experience. Unfortunately tonight was such a disappointment that I've decided that I won't be back as there are many other choices in the area. I arrived around 4:45pm and was greeted by the Host. I was then asked to step aside and wait. I was the only person in the waiting area. It wasn't crowded as it had been in my past visits, however, there were plenty of staff members. I waited for a few minutes and finally was seated. I was placed in a section with one other customer who was paying for his meal. I waited fifteen minutes and was never approached or greeted as I watched employees talking and laughing in a booth until a family was seated there. I don't know why I was ignored as it was obvious I was here to have a nice meal. Finally I got up and walked out. No one asked a single question and when I passed the reception desk I was told to "have a nice evening", as if I had been there for an hour or more. I was completely surprised and taken aback.
