I've been to several other Texas Roadhouse restaurants, and my experience in West Bend was kind of disappointing. My husband and I went there around 8:00 on a weekday, so at least there was no wait for a table. But they had no rolls ready, and no peanuts at the table, and it took quite a while to get either, which was frustrating because I'd just finished work and was really hungry. In fact, in general it just took a really long time to get any of our food, which was surprising when it was so slow. (The restaurant was maybe half full.) It took about 20 minutes just to get our salads. We both ordered chicken critters, and when those came they were comparable to other Texas Roadhouse restaurants. However, they didn't seem to do a good job with portion control, as my plate had a noticeably larger portion of chicken than my husband's. As I said, the food was comparable to other restaurants in the chain, so what really bothered me about this visit was the lack of service. We had a table near the bar, so we could often see staff congregating there to chat. Normally seeing this wouldn't bother me much, but we felt a bit neglected by our server, and the wait for food was so long, so it was frustrating because it seemed like the staff had more time for each other than for checking on their customers. In the future when I'm craving Texas Roadhouse, I think I'll just drive a bit farther to visit one of their other restaurants, and skip returning to this one. read more

We went there last night and had a group of 8. Took forever to see a server. So bad that we went to find someone. That someone so happened to be the owner Ryan. My wife and I are frequent guests. It is my wifes favorite date night place. I give it 5 stars not because it is perfect, but because of our overall experience. The food has been good and well seasoned. Our servers have ALWAYS been hardworking and pleasant. (I am puzzled by some of the other reviewers comments on staff) The rolls and butter are great ! Very good Ceasar Salad. Sweet potatoe loaded is wifes favorite As always, the cut of meat you choose is Key...........Eat the bone in Ribeye ! Sorry, but this was the worst steak dinner I have ever had. I think first they substituted my 11oz for about a 6oz overcooked thin poor cut of meat---husband's was definitely not a 16oz! I am going to stick to my home cooked Costco steak---can't beat it! Now that is where you get a NICE 16oz steak, so I know what they should look like. Second visit in a month only because we had a free meal from our first bad experience. My wife and I had the prime rib that we've had before. Not good at all. First time had ribs and shrimp. West Bend Texas Roadhouse is a joke! I find it comical that the business owner has time to respond to reviews on Google but can't take a minute to call someone back in regards to a complaint. 2 weeks ago, my husband and I ordered for carry out. Got home, everything tasted fine other than my steak being cold. Next morning I woke up to food poisoning. It was so bad that I almost missed work because of it. I waited to call them at 3:30 opening time and asked for a GM or owner to speak to. I spoke to someone named "Joshua". He claimed he was running the kitchen that night and wasn't sure how that could have happened... well obviously it did otherwise I wouldn't be here! He promised a full refund on our bill and that it would take 7-10 business days. Well... It's been 2 weeks now and NOTHING!!! I finally called again. Asked for the GM or manager again. I got as far as the service manager named "Katie". She said "Nic" is the GM who I should speak to and that he would call me back. Ha... yeah right! What a joke! Still haven't heard anything. Still haven't received our refund. At this point I'm done! Called corporate today and things are getting handled! DO NOT support this location! There were none and the hostess did not offer any alternative. We took a booth and were squeezed in there so badly that we were all extremely uncomfortable. I was not impressed :( Looked forward to the warm rolls when we sat down but had to ask twice to get them as our waiter was too busy flirting at the bar. The manager stated the new fry cook burnt his ribs so they were making new ones - 20 mins later they brought them out as the rest of us were just finishing up our meals. Our first visit to this restaurant chain, and we were pleased very much with the offerings. As we walked in and were greeted by the hostess and led to a table, we took in the surroundings. The first thing I noticed was the showcase of steaks, showing every cut. The tables are nicely polished and on them we found a bucket of peanuts and a bucket to put the shells! Our waitress brought us a basket of their specialty rolls with cinnamon butter. They were delicious. Since this was a Saturday, and lunch is available, I ordered one of the early bird specials, a t 6 oz. sirloin steak, mashed potatoes, I also ordered the chili as my other side. My brother ordered chicken steak with gravy, mixed veggies, and the mashed potatoes. My steak was just as I ordered it, and the mashed potatoes are the best! The chili was spicy and delicious too. My brother's chicken steak was delicious and huge. He loved the generous helping of mashed potatoes too. We did not have a dessert, maybe another time. Yes, that means we intend to come back. We stayed at West Bend for a weekend, and hesitated when we saw the Yelp rating .. I'm so glad we decided to go! We had no problems at all getting seated, and the waitress took our order for drinks immediately .. the kids loved the peanuts, so much so that we had to move the bucket away! But, that was quickly forgotten when the rolls came out - wow! Fresh, warm, and delicious! When the food was brought out, we quickly knew we needed to take back food as the portions were huge .. unfortunately, was too stuffed to try the desserts. This seems like the type of place that is always busy. They actually have a holding area at the front entrance with about 10 benches in a room that looks like a horse stable. I've always had to wait to be seated, but the wait is never more than 15 minutes. The holding area is a great place for you to meet other patrons and bond over having to wait. As we were being seated every seat was occupied and the environment was loud and festive. There was a full bar in the middle of the dining room, as well as, a lot of booth seating. The server was very upbeat and awesome. His coverage was over, at least, 10 tables, which seemed like a lot to me. This resulted in slow refills, which was annoying, however, the guy was so nice so we didn't care! The yeast rolls and cinnamon honey butter were the bomb! I was informed by a kill joy who told me that each roll was 22 grams of carbs, but I did not care. The server sent us home with 6 rolls and more butter...gee what a nice guy! The steak was small and I saw a lot of people ordering it well done. If you like your steak well done, stay home and ruin your meat at home. In retrospect, I think there is a problem when people leave a steak house raving about the yeast rolls and not the steak. The tab was also reasonable for what we ordered, however, not cheap. read more

Food is good, service poor. Lots of staff standing around at the hostess stand especially, with nothing to do. Meanwhile, I wait at the take out stand for almost 10 minutes before anyone acknowledges me. The girl was off getting an order for the customer ahead of me. Take out girl finally comes back, only to realize she never put my order in. It's going to be another 15-20 minutes. The girl is very apologetic, and I pay nothing for my meal. I guess I should be happy about a free meal, but after a long day of work and getting to eat dinner now at 9 PM, I was still a bit upset. I'm wondering how much they are paying these 5 hostesses who stand around chit chatting? Meanwhile, the girl at the takeout, who is running around like crazy to get the orders in, is not even offered some help. The only time I saw these 5 hostesses do something, was when they were called to come dance. This is not a one time observation, it is this way every time I get takeout there. Worst service! Hostess took us back and said oh ur table is dirty still... looked around us and there were like 20 other tables open for us to sit at. Nope she wanted us to sit at this table... well I told her I wanted to sit on the other side of the restaurant. So she took us to a table meant for 6... mind u we r only 2 people, why do we need a table meant for 6?! So moved over to a table for two after she left. Waited 5 mins for our waitress to come greet us. She didn't even know we were in her section. She was good with customer service. Suggested a drink was nice. Took 10 mins to get our drinks. I order a mixed drink my boyfriend ordered a lemonade. Ordered our food. Took 30 mins to get that. When the food came out it was cold and wrong. Had sautéed onions and mushrooms on it which I didn't order. They took it back and brought me a new one 10 mins later. By that time it was time to go. I just took it to go. We did though get the check quickly and left our waitress a good tip still. But before we left we watched the hostess tried to seat 2 other couples(2) at that 6 person table. We asked the waitress why she did that she said because she is not familiar with the seating chart. I think we may go back but not anytime soon. read more

Every single steak I've ever had here is SOOOO insanely salty (as in they're likely 'brining' crappy steaks to make them more tender/flavorful??) it's a struggle, and I regularly ADD salt to most dishes!?? The prime rib is tough as leather (AND over salty), lots of fat and gristle on most steaks. WAY too noisy!!! I don't think i've ever seen ANYONE get all fired up with the line dancing/loud music, but often see people leaning across tables trying to carry on conversations. The house salad is fantastic!! My parents and I stopped in at the West Bend Texas Roadhouse for dinner on 4/20/19. It proved to be a disappointing experience due to some rude, petty gossip I overheard between two staffers (yes, staffers) seated at the table next to us. The hostess led us to our table and we had been there for all of 30 seconds when a staffer--I'll call her Courtney--who was assigned napkin-folding duty complained to another waitress that she was annoyed my family and I were seated at the table across from her. Apparently we were too loud and taking too long to decide on an appetizer. My senior citizen father is deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other, so he projects at a high volume when he speaks. He can't help it. God forbid we annoy the prima donna by engaging in friendly conversation as she rolls forks and knives into napkins. Here's a tip, sweetie: If you're sensitive to noise, don't work at the noisiest restaurant in town. The customers who patron your establishment are the lifeblood of your business (and your wages, for that matter). You should never EVER make them feel like they're a nuisance. And we had been nothing but cordial and polite, by the way. While my dad may be partially deaf, I have the hearing of a bloodhound and picked up on everything little thing you said. So while you thought you were being slick, you proved yourself to be nothing but unprofessional and ill-mannered. Time to grow up, princess. read more
