Came here after a lake day with a group of friends. Service was fast! Its a smaller restaurant and wasn't very busy, but we did have a larger group so it was great for a long day in the sun. They have a bar area and also and outdoor patio for seating. Our server was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions! I tried the pacific special. The fish and shrimp were fries nicely. Everything was delicious and a great portion size.

Reminiscent of those hole in the wall seafood joints you will find in sun burnt beach towns along the coast. The food is not fancy but it's well prepared and good. Oysters on the half shell are freshly shucked and tasted great. The fried catfish and shrimp could use some seasoning on the cornmeal batter to elevate the meal but it is nonetheless good and satisfying. Prices are reasonable as well. They have good beer choices both on tap and in bottles. Service is friendly and prompt.

Never had crawfish before, so I decided to give it a try and landed here. Very small, cozy place. They have a bar and serve beer. No margaritas or mixed drinks. I really liked the crawfish. The sauce it came with has a kick. Definitely will be back to try more off the menu.

I was craving seafood so we decided to try this place. The service was okay but the food was rather subpar and not worth the prices. The seafood was overcooked and overfried so everything tasted pretty rubbery. Even the French fries were mediocre. We had the Pacific Star Platter and broiled jumbo crawfish dinner. The breading on the fried food was overpowering the seafood so it mostly just tasted like corn starch. The "jumbo" crawfish didn't look very jumbo, perhaps because it was so well cooked. We ended up spending $60 here and I was sad since I could've gotten much better seafood for that money.

Whole fried catfish, fries, garlic bread, hush puppies

I ordered the whole fried catfish and unfortunately everything on the plate lacked flavor. I was disappointed because the establishment has a cute old school feel. The service was friendly and fast, but the food.... The catfish looked as if it was fried to perfection, the fries were hot, and I got 2 hush puppies. Well, the catfish just taste like bland fried fish. It seemed as if it didn't even have salt on it. I did in fact end up adding salt to the fries but I still didn't eat them and my hush puppies were burnt. My BF ate them though. I will say 2 stars for quick service and another because my bf's blackened flounder fillet was actually very delicious and flavorful.

After 20 years of living here I finally tried a classic that so many people have recommended to me. Started with a dozen raw oysters (19.95) and then had the crawfish pirogue (16.95) that many on here have recommended. The former were, well, oysters, good and briny and what they are supposed to be. A little bit pricier than some other spots around here. The latter was not what I expected, it was OK but basically swimming in butter. Nice meal and I will be back but 50 bucks felt like a lot for what I got. I think you expect little dives to be an expensive so maybe my expectations were off. At least the beer was cheap and cold.

This place is bomb, i dont know these reviews are about but it is the best in Austin area. This family owned gem is worth every penny, the owners extremely friendly, and welcoming, and their family, yes i said family only works here. What we ate Oysters Rancheros- amazing! A must have when here, full of flavor and puts a new spin on eating oysters Oysters on the half shell- these beauties were fat, sweet, and delicious. Best i have had in a very long time. I asked Edmond our server where they were harvested and they were locally harvested in Galveston.. umm these are bomb Hushpuppies- best ive had ... ever Crawfish- we ate 4 lbs- flavorful hint of spicy and delicious. i used to eat these in Louisiana and this was so good reminded me of when i lived there. Baked stuffed Flounder- this fish was sooo good and cooked perfect, the entrée came with shrimp lime pilaf was super tasty, almost had to order another side, garlic bread was cooked to perfection. We sat, ate, and enjoyed the company of the owners, server, patrons and shared a couple shots with them. You need to do yourself a solid and eat here... you're welcome

The crab was the highlights, and the sauce had a nice balance of spice, garlic, and butter without being too overwhelming. The portions were satisfying, although the meal can get a little pricey if you gravitate towards the more premium selections. Service was friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, it was a fun and messy dining experience in the best way, and I'd definitely come back when I'm craving seafood.

We came on a friday night around 6:45 pm and ordered their garlic parmesan fries, a margarita, and 3 lbs of happy style sauce crawfish mild that came with 1 potato and 1 corn. Total came out to be $65 with tip. There were no tables available, as the restaurant is quite small, so we were offered to sit at the bar. -The parmesan garlic fries came with the garlic on the side in a little container containing mostly oil and garlic crunches on the bottom. The flavor was good, but it was too oily. I wish they poured the garlic onto the fries vs having us dip it in the oil. Not sure how much these were, as the price wasn't on the menu I took snapshots of. -The margarita was on the smaller side, but my husband enjoyed it. $8 -3lbs crawfish was ehhh. It was definitely frozen so it was harder to peel and honestly, nothing special, which was disappointing. It was also kinda mushy?? which is definitely a first.. The only thing I liked was the happy style sauce. We ordered mild, but can definitely go hotter since the mild wasn't spicy at all. Portions were kinda small, tbh and so we left unsatisfied. The crawfish came out to be $41 with tax, which was kinda expensive.. esp being frozen. Thoughts: -very tiny restaurant with only 8 tables, including 1 large table for 6-7 people -you can't order 1 or 2 lbs of crawfish, the minimum is 3 lbs which I feel is a bit odd.. -kinda expensive with the 3lbs crawfish esp it being frozen cuz you can get fresh crawfish for less than what they're charging at other places Honestly, pretty disappointed with what we ordered. Guess we'll have to keep looking for other seafood boils. I saw that they had crawfish etouffee, which I am looking forward to trying next time I come. Also, come earlier if you want to get a table. **It's kinda a weird setup. Although there are tables, you actually order first at the front and then you sit. There are no table service just fyi!

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is a popular regional chain that serves high quality Louisiana/Cajun…read morecuisine. The portions are huge, the service is great, and it's a chain that I don't mind visiting a few times a year. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The Pappadeaux in NW Austin is very nice, there are many large, round tables, cozy booths, and it buzzes with energy. Thick, white tablecloths, wood panel walls, and Cajun music add to the atmosphere and transport you to a fine dining restaurant in New Orleans. Except it's 100% ok to be casual. It feels upscale and laid back at the same time. 1 Star. Service - Our server was excellent. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever had bad service at a Pappadeaux. Kudos to the training staff, because the servers are very attentive, polite, patient, and will customize anything for you. 1 Star. Food - As soon as you sit down, a nice, oven warmed bread loaf and whipped butter is brought out. Pro Tip - Ask for Scampi Butter to eat with the bread. My go-to dish is the Catfish with Beans and Rice, but on this visit, I went with the lunch gumbo/po'boy combo. I should have stuck with my go-to dish, because the seafood gumbo was too salty, and the bread for the po'boy was overly baked. The fried oysters were delicious, but if the bread roll isn't good, it kind of ruins the entire po'boy. But Pappadeaux has a great track record with me, so I consider this a one-off issue. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Pappadeaux is a chain the Texas. While I may not return to this location in Austin, I will continue to visit the many locations in the DFW area. 1 Star.

About 5-7 minutes go by and nothing. We started eating the crackers at the table because we were hungry. A male waiter nearby noticed we had not been helped so he brought us menus and said Ashley was our waitress and he would see where she was. Another 10 minutes go by and nothing. We noticed an Ashley nearby waiting on the 3 tables surrounding us and she never acknowledged us. She showed 1 table some dessert options, she assisted another table with to go containers, and checked on the other after they received their food. All while walking right passed our table multiple times. I kept looking around and we were about to walk out when Mark, another waiter, stopped to check in on us. He apologized about the wait. He said Ashley was our waitress but he would get our drink order started. I thanked him and told him we were actually ready to order. He then asked what we would like. We placed our drink order and food order. Mark was very friendly and professional. He said his tables were elsewhere but he would be taking over our table too. I was glad to hear. I'm not sure if this was a miscommunication issue or what but it seemed that everyone nearby knew we were at Ashley's table but Ashley herself. Interestingly enough, after the 3 tables near us cleared out, so did Ashley. We didn't see her again. Kudos to Mark!! He was observant and noticed we hadn't been helped and jumped right in. If it wasn't for Mark we were going to walk out and dine elsewhere. A manager even stopped by to apologize. He heard what happened and offered us a free dessert. He checked in against later to see how things were. Mark and the manager are a 10/10. The food was just okay. A bit over priced for the quality and portion. The bread was dry. 7/10 The Ceasar salad was so good! 10/10
