This place must have a cult following of those who really enjoy the food; however, it's just not for me. I was looking for a whole catfish meal and this place came up. I ordered it and the gumbo and the crab claws. The gumbo isn't gumbo or at least the kind of gumbo in Louisiana. It's far from it and definitely not good. Came here after a lake day with a group of friends. Service was fast! Its a smaller restaurant and wasn't very busy, but we did have a larger group so it was great for a long day in the sun. They have a bar area and also and outdoor patio for seating. Our server was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions! I tried the pacific special. The fish and shrimp were fries nicely. Reminiscent of those hole in the wall seafood joints you will find in sun burnt beach towns along the coast. The food is not fancy but it's well prepared and good. Oysters on the half shell are freshly shucked and tasted great. The fried catfish and shrimp could use some seasoning on the cornmeal batter to elevate the meal but it is nonetheless good and satisfying. Prices are reasonable as well. Never had crawfish before, so I decided to give it a try and landed here. Very small, cozy place. They have a bar and serve beer. No margaritas or mixed drinks. I really liked the crawfish. The sauce it came with has a kick. Definitely will be back to try more off the menu. read more

I was craving seafood so we decided to try this place. The service was okay but the food was rather subpar and not worth the prices. The seafood was overcooked and overfried so everything tasted pretty rubbery. Even the French fries were mediocre. We had the Pacific Star Platter and broiled jumbo crawfish dinner. The breading on the fried food was overpowering the seafood so it mostly just tasted like corn starch. The "jumbo" crawfish didn't look very jumbo, perhaps because it was so well cooked. The service was friendly and fast, but the food.... The catfish looked as if it was fried to perfection, the fries were hot, and I got 2 hush puppies. Well, the catfish just taste like bland fried fish. It seemed as if it didn't even have salt on it. I did in fact end up adding salt to the fries but I still didn't eat them and my hush puppies were burnt. My BF ate them though. Started with a dozen raw oysters (19.95) and then had the crawfish pirogue (16.95) that many on here have recommended. The former were, well, oysters, good and briny and what they are supposed to be. A little bit pricier than some other spots around here. The latter was not what I expected, it was OK but basically swimming in butter. Nice meal and I will be back but 50 bucks felt like a lot for what I got. I think you expect little dives to be an expensive so maybe my expectations were off. This family owned gem is worth every penny, the owners extremely friendly, and welcoming, and their family, yes i said family only works here. What we ate Oysters Rancheros- amazing! A must have when here, full of flavor and puts a new spin on eating oysters Oysters on the half shell- these beauties were fat, sweet, and delicious. Best i have had in a very long time. I asked Edmond our server where they were harvested and they were locally harvested in Galveston.. umm these are bomb Hushpuppies- best ive had ... ever Crawfish- we ate 4 lbs- flavorful hint of spicy and delicious. i used to eat these in Louisiana and this was so good reminded me of when i lived there. Baked stuffed Flounder- this fish was sooo good and cooked perfect, the entrée came with shrimp lime pilaf was super tasty, almost had to order another side, garlic bread was cooked to perfection. I have been eating here for years! It has been going strong in this location for at least 25 years. It's shaped like a boat! It's small but comfy inside. This is a local family run restaurant, has arguably THE BEST gumbo in the city, has great prices and they treat you like you are their family! A cat or two might make friends with you if you sit on the patio so don't go here if you have a great big problem with cats. They have local&import beer/wine/major brand soda/unsweet tea available. Despite having ordered from this restaurant 2 days ago through DoorDash with no issue, tonight after placing my order and waiting over an hour for it they suddenly no longer do DoorDash. 3 different people were sent to this restaurant to pick up my order and each one of them was turned away with no further attempt by the restaurant to refund me or cancel the order before I finally resolved the issue myself. Thank you Pacific Star for wasting the time and money of 4 people over 12 raw oysters. Smh read more

Loud, busy, fried fish is good, hush puppies could use more flavor, french fries are the old fashion type, thick cut, not my favorite but ok, crawfish 12.00 per lb which was good price, but flavor was bland (straight up tabaco or hot sauce with no other flavors) - got potatoes and sausage with the platter. Sausage was just a few thin pieces barely nothing for 4$, potatoes were great. The spicy sauce they use on the side is awesome. Wish that flavor was more on the crawfish. I got the $25 platter with fried fish filets 3 jumbo shrimp and fries. overall good quick bite, passed by here on my way to Houston. Service was friendly too. Sadly i may never come back. read more

This place is easy to miss but worth the loop back around. Everything is made fresh so you will wait but they make you feel like family. My friends and I enjoyed the crab fingers and got crawfish. I wanted to try the crawfish pot boy so we ordered that too. The crawfish aren't at all creole style but they have a different twist of flavor and I enjoyed it. Not a good experience. Went there this past Saturday with my brother(first time), to celebrate my birthday. Place was empty except for one other table. Noone bothered to welcome us or seat us, although they were right there when we entered. Very Cold and Unwelcoming attitude. Ordered 1/2 dozen cold broiled shrimp and stuffed jalapenos to start. Waittress apparently didn't speak english and even after pointing to it on the menu, she still looked confised. Shrimp smelled awful/rotten were unpeeled(kindof ok with that but for 10 bucks for 6 shrimp they should at least appeal appetizing). There was Poop all over the shrimp as if they hadn't even been washed off which was pretty disgusting. Had to ask another fellow to ck on stuffed jalapenos/waittress never bothered or cared to ask for water/soda refiils. Main dish was satisfactory but had lost my appetite. Waittress stood over my brother for five minutes after handing him the bill/very discourteous. Won't be back. God bless. read more

Areceli was my bartender, she along with her family provided my partner and I a really nice midday experience. Areceli was friendly and a hardworking young lady. It's a seafood bar in Austin, not too easy to do, but they do it seamlessly and has the freshest and hottest food in north Austin, all at reasonable prices. My experience here was kind of strange. We went on Memorial Day around 2pm because my husband & I wanted boiled shrimp and raw oysters. We were not aware that we had to seat ourselves so we're just standing there like morons... and the inside of the restaurant is super small, and I'm not sure if they were social distancing the tables or not. The restaurant is very hole in the wall & didn't feel clean. We were one of the three groups inside while there was a large party outside on the patio. The food was decent- I mean boiled shrimp & raw oysters are hard to mess up. We had a waiter take our order & then he started shucking our oysters. For some weird reason, our waiter just stopped waiting on us & sat down for the rest of the period we were there and there was one other waitress taking care of 4 tables by herself. Imagine how bad the customer service was??? She forgot to put in our French fry order & never refilled our drinks. She also only checked on us one time after our food arrived. She was busy trying to clean the floor and wait the other tables.... FML. read more

Came across this place in the search for a quick bite.. it was eh.. I guess I set my expectations a lil higher.. the calamari breading was thick, which took away from the actual calamari.. after a few of them, they started to taste like fish sticks ‍. The shrimp diablos (bacon wrapped shrimp was less than pleasing.. the bacon was crunchy, shouldn't it be soft?? The garlic bread ( not pictured) was probably the best thing I had. On this trip I had started off with 6 gulf oysters on the half shell. They were chilled to perfection and you got a bakers half dozen, seven. For my entrée it was fried oysters that were accompanied by fries. Hey this joint ain't on the Atkins plan, Yo. Plus one ordered their gumbo and said it was OK. Which translates to MEH. I tried it and agreed. Her fish and shrimp combo was AOK! Portions are big and service is quite enjoyable. As in I had an empty beer mug and our server just brought me another. She can read my mind!!!! Seriously go here eat, drink, and spend an extra 30 minutes on the treadmill the next day. read more
