Let me just start off by saying I have frequented this place for the past year and have had no problems with the service or food. However, I went in this afternoon and had a bad experience with a waitress who was overwhelmed and couldn't handle her load. After being there for 5 hours and ordering 4 beers she brought the bill and said she couldn't serve me anymore but would give me one more beer. Our table had two more guests arrive which I had to go and ask for service for them, as she said she was going into the banquet hall and could not serve us anymore. Another waiter was assigned our table after I went up to the hostess and asked if our other guest was going to be served after waiting 20 minutes just to get some iced tea. Once the new waiter came over he advised me that he could not serve me anymore because the previous waitress said I had enough to drink, at this point I had 4 beers and it was 530. I was clearly fine and they were upset at the fact that twice I went up to the hostess for the two other guests that joined us to get some service. I then went to talk to the manager who was clearly not helpful by stating I'm busy and will be with you shortly, without even giving me any eye contact. At this point I was beyond upset and decided that we were going to leave and never come back based on the service from the first waitress and the manager's response when I asked for his help. I want everyone to know that we have been in and out of this restaurant twice a week for the past year for the specials and have had pretty good service until today. However after the waitress pawned us off onto another waiter and the manager couldn't deal with us at the time of the problem I will never return to this establishment and will make sure everyone I know is aware of what happened so they will choose to go somewhere else. I was utterly disappointed at the service from the waitress and manager and will never step foot in this establishment again. Just so you all know I did leave a 20% tip which I would have taken back if given the opportunity but felt bad for the waitress who clearly needed it more than me and I had already filled out the bill with the understanding we were getting a new waiter. Our two meals a week there has come to an end and we will find somewhere else to eat and I feel sorry for the waiter who picked us up but was unable to take an order from us based on the previous waitresses word and had no idea what had happened. I will be sure to tell everyone I know what happened and to not visit this place. read more

I'm a regular at the Texican. I go maybe 3-4 times a month. Something crazy happened when I was there a few weeks ago though. I was sitting in the bar area with my wife having a few drinks, when all of a sudden I hear a really loud crash to my left. A pot that had been hanging up about 10 feet off of the ground had fallen and smacked my waitress on the head! Right on the noggin I swear. Anyways, she was crying quite loudly, the pot was made of clay and was VERY large. It broke on her poor head for heavens sake. She got rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance. The Texican is never boring to begin with, but this was just a cherry on top. I'm glad to hear that she is okay, nothing more than a minor concussion. Oh. Also the chips are very good and I suggest trying the Cabrito. It is by far the best on the menu. Lol that's all. read more

This place rocks! I had a long day at work and went in for happy hour. They have daily drink specials all day~every day..... which I love!!! I had the $5 tall frozens and was surprised to order two more, I never do that, but they were too good to pass up. The service was tremendous, and the El Paso enchiladas were to die for. They have about 20 different sauces and the server was kind enough to tell me all about them. I now know what El Paso style Mexican food is, and I'm in love. Great place for happy hour. This is one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants. They are consistently good-- I always stick to the chicken fajitas, which is a huge serving with ALL fixings, ie guac, cheese, sour cream, pico, lettuce- I HATE that so many mex restaurants charge extra for those--how are you supposed to make a taco without some lettuce and cheese at least? Also tops on my list is Queso Mayo (sp?) anyway- queso, taco meat and quac..very good stuff. ANother great thing, my wife and I can eat here and have a drink for under $30 - and usually have leftovers to take home. read more

I try to eat at the Texican at least 3 or 4 times a week. My go to menu item is the Tilapia Cozumel. The grilled tilapia is to die for and it comes topped with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. This is by far the worst service yet again. We used to come twice a week, but then service started to go down hill. Three homemade flour or corn tortillas per person with sizzling fajitas. The tortillas are made fresh and are the highlight of the meal. The flavor was solid, but the overall experience was slowed down by service issues. Our food arrived without flour tortillas, which are pretty essential for fajitas, and it took a while to get them brought over. So the food was a bit cold by the time we received the order. One of the kids' meals was also missing a piece of bacon, which added to the feeling that things weren't fully checked before coming out of the kitchen. Getting the check at the end also took longer than expected. The atmosphere was lively, but the mariachi band was a bit loud and made it hard to have a normal conversation at the table. Overall, the food was okay, but the service and pacing took away from the experience. It might be better for a casual, loud group outing than a relaxed family dinner.
