Papaya Salad (GF) Pad Thai (GF)

Great service, intimate setting, tasty combination of flavors, and authentic taste! Convenient close to Central Park and the museums. Went in spontaneously since we were wanting a of taste of Thailand in NYC. Papaya Salad - Thai style. Crisp raw papaya strips. Flavor was good, but it could have been stinkier. Might have toned down the fish sauce for the American taste. Green beans and tomatoes were the right ripeness. Pad Thai - Not too sweet. Very soft noodles, but not overcooked. Great overall balance of sweet, savory, and sour. Only con was the portion. Could have been bit more for the price. Crispy Duck - Was crispy and tender at the same time. Good portion. Lots of veggies underneath and was cooked to perfection.

Very nice people but food is only meh compared with other Thai restaurants in the area. Came here once five years ago and wasn't impressed but decided to give it a second chance recently and try the drunken noodles. I asked for them mild and they were a little spicier than other places make for mild. The noodles lacked that "char" that gives them a tiny sweetness to offset the spicy, so it just felt like steamed noodles stirred with spicy siracha. The chicken was minimal at best. Probably less than a quarter of a breast in the entire entree.

Was realllllyyyyy craving mango sticky rice, and it was pretty solid. $14 with a pretty purple sticky rice. Will probably come back for a lunch special.

It's a very small restaurant with about 8 small tables. Was pretty busy on a weekday evening. The chicken skewers came in 4 large pieces, was well seasoned, tasty and not dry. The beef stew was delicious, lots of tender meat and good noodles (could use more). The chicken noodle was bad. Perhaps it's how it supposed to taste, but the chicken was sweet, the soup was too sweet and had some strange seasoning. We couldn't eat any bit of it and had to throw it out.

I usually don't review a place if I get take out because then I don't get to take into account the ambiance and everything in the restaurant. When I went to go pick it up the ambiance was intimate and fun so it seemed like a good place with outdoor seating too. When it came to the food it was just lacking a lot of flavor in both items. The pad see eiw was all just one note of sweet from the soy sauce. I didn't really get anything else. The pork felt low quality as it was really chewing and fibery. The chicken was also extremely fibery. It wasn't awful but I will be getting takeout from somewhere else when I want a noodle fix.

This was a cute little place by the park. I stopped there after spending a day at the metropolitan museum. It was not too far from the park! I got Thai ice tea and the green curry with chicken. The curry was surprisingly pretty hot It was good but not so special. Thai ice tea also, was good but it was just good. I had a good time resting and eating with my friend there. People were so nice and I loved the inside decor of the place. Food was 3 but the aesthetic and customer service bring it up to 4.

Very good Thai foos in simple but pleasant settings. The appetizers were very tasty, spring rolls (divine) and fish cakes (well seasoned but a bit oily) Tofu red curry was light and well executed. For me the nicest dish was the sticky rice cooked in butterfly pea flower. Service was polite.

Oily spring roll with watered down sweet chili sauce with vinegar

The service during late lunch (3:30pm) is not busy at all. But yet they forgot my thai ice tea. One entree came quick and I waited over 15 mins to find out that they forgot my other order!!! It's practically empty here. So I don't understand how the waitress takes an order and not put it through to the kitchen right away. They have not once walked over to check on us, rather I had to ask about both my thai ice tea and 2nd entree. Spring rolls are given for the lunch special and it's very oily. They do not drain the oil before serving it. The dipping sauce is not even sweet thai chili, it's a watered down version with vinegar. Absolutely disappointed at this establishment especially when It's not busy at all. There were only two other table's, thats all!! Pad see ew - you can see the douse of white pepper splashed onto the top of the food sheet than mixed into the food. The seasoning is on the sweeter side, not enough veggies, and the beef is dry. Drunken noodle- the forgotten plate was rushed out and as a result all you see is loads of peppers and the seeds which makes it extremely spicy, there is absolutely no sauce where the noodles taste bland. There were raw pieces of shrimp and some of the shrimp have the poop stuck in it as well.

One of those terms is that there is a $25/pp fee for late cancelations or no shows. **Given the rules, I think it would be nice if THEP informs everyone when they book reservations that there is a great likelihood that you will be seated at a communal table.** Upon arrival we were seat when 3 out of the 4 arrived. Yes, we were seated at the communal table, which was off putting initially because we were looking for a more private experience and opportunity to catch up. However, we powered through and made the best of it. Service started off shaky and rushed initially, with incorrect drink orders presented. However once we all settled in things improved. The food was good and the atmosphere was lovely. A few entrée dishes were unavailable and required a little flexibility in the night's taste palate. Overall Thep was enjoyable and I would like to return now that I know what to expect. Just A Note: If a communal table is not ideal I would suggest reaching out directly to the restaurant to see if something can be arranged.

The service was pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful from the minute we walked in without a reservation. The ambiance and decor was gorgeous and took me out of NYC for a moment. The phenomenal taste of the first sip of the Thai Iced Tea that paired so well with the rest of my meal is the reason behind the first picture I took. For the apps we ordered my favorite- Chicken Curry Puffs and Chicken Satay. The Chicken Curry Puffs were soft and perfectly mashy on the inside and had a perfect crisp to the layered outside. The Chicken Satay was so different here and yet so savory served with this soft garlic bread. The sauces were so fresh, vibrant and distinct and added to both the appetizers. The peanut sauce had crushed peanuts and was such an accompaniment to texture. For the mains, we had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Braised Beef Short Rib in Penang Curry. The Pad Thai was a great standard and tasty with the crisp sprouts and zesty lime. This Braised Beef Short Rib is where it is at! One of their house specialties- the decadent flavors and textures of this dish is something that will be memorable and just the right touch of spice. Lovely bright orange sweet potatoes and beautiful green beans went so well together with the beef and curry. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and not defaulting to my usual. Warmed up Chicken Pad Thai on the pan over the stove today in a little bit of butter, this was as delicious as it was going to get today. I missed one of the most exquisite Thai Iced Teas I've had in a while, it truly set the tone of how great this late lunch was.
