We really enjoyed our Thai food experience at Thai Bamboo. The service we very friendly and prompt. The food was very flavorful and the perfect spice levels. We ordered a pad kee mow and a green curry. The curry tasted more like a yellow curry, but still very tasty. The pad kee mow was one of the better ones we have ever eaten. We also look forward to signing up for their customer loyalty program. You can get 10$ off on your birthday and 10$ off for each 100$ spent. They are a bit more pricey than we topically spend, but we don't mind as long as it's quality and most importantly tasty. We will be back. read more

Yay, I am so glad to have found a good Thai place in the Valley!! My friend and I went to dinner on a Wednesday night here, and we were greeted and sat immediately. Our waitress was super nice and friendly, and even helped me out when I was stuck between the pad see ew and the pad thai. It worked out though because I ended up ordering one, and my friend ordered the other and shared. The food is great! It's flavorful, but it's not overwhelming. I've had a lot of issues with places making it taste way too salty, but this place made it just right. Fantastic. Our visit to Thai Bamboo last night proves one thing: I am no longer allowed to pick our restaurants in Spokane. I am also no longer allowed to pick the movies we watch but that's another story. In any case, I have failed in my past selections. Thus, I acquiesced to the BF to choose last night's destination of cuisine. BF ordered a San Miguel Light lager at the server's recommendation. He liked it. I had a glass of the syrah and it was a perfect way to kick off the evening on the sunny patio out back. He had the Gaen Gai, red curry with chicken, bamboo shoots, bell peppers and Thai Basil. I went for the Gaeng Sapparob, a red curry with sweet basil, but added scallops instead of chicken. (I'm a Nova Scotia, Canada, girl by birth so when I see the opportunity to have scallops, my heart races, I get frothy at the mouth and I HAVE TO HAVE SCALLOPS.) The servings were heaping helpings but don't forget to order a side of rice if you want it. They're bottomless bowls so well worth the extra shekel. Oh ... and he went for a three rating on his hotness. I'm a bit of a wuss and went for two. I taste-tested his three and my lips caught fire. I'm good with two. It really was a fabulous dinner, tasty with lots of leftovers and excellent service. I hope we become regulars at the Thai Bamboo. read more

Greetings Veggies, I think we found our new hangout in Spokane. If you find yourself in the Valley, there are many restaurants but few good ones that cater to Pescatarians such as myself. Whenever I visit a new Thai restaurant I always order the same two dishes as a test to see how good the chef actually is: Phad Thai and Red Curry with Tofu. Not only did they satisfy my cravings for these dishes, but the food was spectacular. A bonus was that a combination of these two was the first choice on the lunch menu. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. They even have an outdoor seating area enclosed in a bamboo garden which we can't wait to try during the Summer's heat. Watch out for the spice if your are sensitive, we ordered 2 Stars and that was way too spicy for my wife. Enjoy! read more

I was surprised to find descent Thai in Spokane! Now if we could only get some good Chinese, but I digress. We had the Pad Thai, Pineapple curry and spring rolls to start. Both entrees were really yummy and had the perfect amount of spice. The spring rolls were bite size and fun to pop in your mouth. Did I mention we got them for take-out? We enjoyed the food very much and plan to go back for more. One complaint: The Pad Thai with prawns only had 4 prawns! Since moving to the Spokane area a few months ago, I have had a heard time finding really good food. Thai Bamboo has become one of my favorite restaurants out here. I have been here a few times and have tried something different each time. Everything tastes fresh and can be made spicy. We order here more than I like to admit! They make their dishes with chicken that actually taste like chicken and their veggies are fantastic and crispy! I was reticent when we pulled up and saw the shabby exterior, but was excited for Thai and my mom had eaten here once and said it was "good." Once inside: it was crowded and very busy taking and serving take out orders. At this I was hopeful. The decor appeared tacky and worn, but no big deal, I thought, so long as the food and service are good. Our server was, in fact, a sweetheart! Took a while to get our orders because they were so busy and when she did come over she didn't write anything down. Probably should have, because she got three out of our four orders wrong. She mentioned that she "should have noticed they made the wrong thing" when she grabbed the plates to deliver them. Two of the incorrect dishes were similar to the ones ordered and we didn't notice right away. She kindly brought me the correct order once I let her know I had the wrong dish. Since they were so busy we did not ask for replacements for the other two. The food was average. I think one of the things that I disliked the most was that we had leftovers and to my shock: they did not box up our food. She just came over and dropped empty boxes onto our table. I have never been to a Thai food restaurant or any kind of Asian restaurant for that matter, where our food was not boxed up for us by the server. I'm not sure if that sounds snooty, but I found it to be very strange and extremely awkward to sit there and dump and scrape all of our food from our plates into these little boxes. It was ridiculous. I did like that they had a kid's menu, crayons, and they served at the meal's end, little coconut flavored fortune cookies in a cylinder shape. I'm sorry to say I would definitely not return here for dine in nor takeout after this experience. read more

I love Southeast Asian cuisine - my parents are from Laos so I'm a snob about it. I don't get anything I or my mom can make with her eyes closed. That being anything curry-related so I went ahead and chose the deep-fried (whole) tilapia with the "jaeo" - cilantro chili like dipping sauce. I don't have the skill nor cookware capacity to deep fry at home so I went with it, whatever. Waiting for our food, I couldn't read the latest edition of the Inlander because of the amped up Latin music blaring each time the swinging door swung open. The only way I narrowed down the cultural identity of our food handlers was because I'm from Pasco and know enough Spanish to know my way around taco trucks and if someone is talking shit about me. This annoyed us immensely (noise, not their nationality) as we wanted to enjoy a nice quiet date night. The waitress did warn us that the tilapia did take longer to cook but she still brought out my husband's plate before mine. I'm much more than positive that Food Service 101 notes that plates should arrive in close proximity, if not exact timing, to each other. Mine came 10-15 minutes later than that, I was starving. If the menu item noted this, I wouldn't have ordered it. Also, please tone down the radio in the kitchen. Service was fine but won't go back to this location. read more

We decided to go into Thai Bamboo yesterday on a whim...and we weren't sure what we would find. The interior decorations were stunning; we really enjoyed the statues, paintings, and especially the mural of a starry sky that changed color throughout our meal. I have been here several times. Unfortunately I have experienced better. In the past, I've had Chicken Phad Thai, Chicken Satay, Crab Fried Rice, and a few other dishes, but these stand out to me. The Crab Fried Rice was the best dish from here, although all dishes are extremely pricey. The amount is also very small. I only keep going back because there is no competition here in Spokane. UNFORTUNATELY: I went in on 11/20/2015 and bought the Chicken Phad Thai and ordered it To-Go. With tax, it was 14.16 for a small teeny dish. I had a craving so I signed off on the receipt. I didn't add a tip since it was To-Go. Today, I checked my account and saw that a $2.00 tip was added to my bill. I DID NOT ADD A TIP. This was added after the receipt was signed by me. This is HORRIBLE business and I will not return. A call back from the manager is currently pending, although I don't think I could ever trust them again.... read more

We ate at this wonderful Thai Bamboo restaurant for the first time on a Saturday for lunch .. We found it by using Yelp , it had good rating & reviews . We both got the " Lunch Specials". I have the chicken & vegetables with Peanut Sauce, cake with with pad Thai noodles, Brown & Black rice . My daughter had the vegetables & cashew sauce .. Both came with a very yummy egg drop soup , wow I could have had a gallon of that wonderful soup .. . The place was clean , welcoming staff , smelled so good .. Now we have a new Thai restaurant to go to .. We will be back again very soon .. read more

Had a MOUTHGASM the first two times there, third time, not so much but I had no idea what the hell I was ordering. Maasaman was FRIGGIN GREAT!.. PAD THAI was a 7 out of 10 on the hit parade. service was an 8 out of ten, the waitress was personable and even let us dig into the reading glasses that had been in the lost and found so we could read the menu. They have many gluten-free items (and the ONLY soy sauce they use in restaurant is GF). You can just change the type of noodle in most dishes to make GF as well. Food is good and would recommend to others. We'll return the next time we are in Spokane. read more

We stopped in for lunch, the few parking spaces in front were almost filledd-to find the tables inside the room were almost afll filled! A well kept neighborhood secret with excellent service from our waitress who brought us sample of their "purple rice" to try. The dishes were beautifully prepared; everything was delicious. What a disappointment! My husband and I are both gluten free and were excited to find out Thai Bamboo offered quite a few GF options that aren't typical choices at other restaurants. We ordered the orange chicken and General Tso's chicken for takeout, however when we got home we had actually received Mongolian beef instead of the General Tso's. Thankfully it was also a GF choice so we weren't too upset. Unfortunately both entrees were very bland...we asked for Level 3 spice and it was completely mild, not even a hint of spice. Beyond that, there just was not a lot of flavor to either dish. For $14.99 per entree (and rice does not come with entrees at dinner, only with lunch which is weird), we felt like we wished we could have eaten at Panda Express instead but unfortunately nothing there is GF. The decor in the North Seattle restaurant has this one beat but the service at this location has always been top notch. The food overall is consistent with the other location but they seem to be so much faster here. It might be because it is smaller so its less steps from the kitchen to the table or they are just dialed in. I still question the level of heat that some of the dishes provide so I am always a fan of the spice rack when I go to any Thai Bamboo. The outside doesn't draw you in but the inside is quaint and can feel a little crowded if its busy. There are a few spots out front but more parking behind the restaurant. read more
