I thought this place was alright. The pad thai is different. The noodles are thinner and seemed to be on the sweeter side. I didn't mind it but it just didn't seem like authentic pad thai. Also tried the panang curry, which tasted a little off. Not sure what it was but maybe something in it wasn't quite fresh. I do like the type of meat that they use though; the beef was thin sliced and not big chewy pieces like I've had at some other places. A good friend of mine got me hooked on this place, and I have to say that I'm hooked. Very fresh flavors and a huge menu selection makes it easy to come there often and discover something new. The service is very friendly and eager to please and offer suggestions. The curry dishes are the best I've ever had- I'd recommend the red curry with chicken as my personal favorite. The fresh spring rolls are also delicious. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very attentive to young children (my friend and I have had "Daddy Daughter Date Lunches" there and always have found the servers to be very attentive to the small children). Was in town to visit the Zoo and guess where I wanted to eat. Yup. This is my first choice in all the places in the Milwaukee area to eat at. Still haven't been disappointed. Good portions, low prices, and authentic flavors. This time got the Panang curry, pad Thai, and tried and true Yum Neur. All good and pungent. And one of the few restaurants where if you ask to make it spicy, prepare to pay the price cause it will be fire burning spicy going in and coming out. There is a gratuity added for 4 or more FYI but it's fun sharing dishes with the others in your group. Dining area is not the biggest so I recommend going during off hours. Parking is also very limited and so you'll probably end up parking in the street. Don't let the neighborhood fool you. This little shop is a gem. read more

The noodle was greasy for me (need to request less oil next time), found the beef to be somewhat chewy, loved the Chinese broccoli in the dish, it was nice and crisp. Will never spend my money at this place again! Our most recent experience will be our last, as there are many restaurants nearby that offer tasty Thai/Lao/Vietnamese food. There's an incredible restaurant across the street (Vientiane) and also a ton more along National (Phan's Garden) with way better service! My issue came from the owner who lied he was going to credit my $11.99 towards my next order due to a mistake on their end for a previous order. *I strongly feel the owner had a different tone over the phone because my name is English and I speak English fluently, but once he saw me in person and realized I was Asian, he had a different demeanor. When I came in and explained what happened the last time, he was dismissive and quickly gave me a $2 discount. Confused. I reminded him what he told me over the phone. He quickly told me he will give me $6 off and snatched my debit card. I felt like he didn't care about doing the right thing or truly understanding what the issue was, as long as he got my money again. My purpose wasn't to get free food. I have been supporting this business for years. He asked me did I know what Yellow curry was in a smart ass tone. I tried to explain to him I felt it was wrong they list ingredients on their menu under a dish that's not actually used. If I knew an ingredient wasn't going to come with a dish, I would appreciate being told beforehand, so I can decide if I would still want it to spend my money on it or not. The idea that this effects my decision making, and I may want to order something else instead of wasting my money on something that I'm not getting, wasn't comprehended by the restaurant owner. The way the owner treated me was embarrassing and uncalled for. He spoke to me nastily and was rushing to speak over me, when there was only one table of people in the restaurant at the time. The food is pretty solid & the prices as well-- $6.99 for pho. My issue is the service all the way. I've gone here multiple times trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it never got better. One time my boyfriend and I ordered pho & they only brought out one. We waited for 10 minutes before we saw someone else so we could get the second pho. They also hadn't given us any toppings. We asked literally five times times two different people including the manager, but they never brought it out. The next time we went in with 4 people & they included a 15% tip in the bill that was unlabeled until we asked them about it, even though on the menu it said it was for parties of 5 or more. We had dinner here this evening, and we really enjoyed the food. This area of National seems to have some great options, and this is one of them. We got a hot pot of soup that was outstanding. Then we had a couple noodle dishes, larb, and volcano chicken. Spice levels are 1-5, and 3 was definitely a medium-plus. There are only a few dishes that I like to order whenever I got to a Thai restaurant. Last night I ordered the Pad Thai and Fresh spring rolls. Pad Thai was amazing!! It was great and there was a huge portion. I was able to take it to go and have actually had to split my left over to two portions because it was a lot!! The price was reasonable too!! Only $8 for great dish and portion!! I've gone to two other Thai restaurants and there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that the dishes should be more than $9-$10. Fresh Spring Rolls was also delicious. It was probably the cheapest price I've ever paid for Spring Rolls. Two rolls for $2.99. That's a great price, but it might be cheaper since there's no shrimp in it. The sauce was amazing. My date was laughing at how I couldn't stop gushing over the sauce. I know how to make spring rolls, so I have high expectations for peanut sauce. I'll be going here from now on every time I'm in the neighborhood!! read more

My food was good I asked for medium spice but it was a bit in the week side for my taste. I will definitely take it up a notch next time.
