I came in for my first time to get some food to go. I got the yellow chicken curry 2 star spicy. And 2 small sides of rice. The price was fair and the food was good. The place was really nice inside. The lady who took my order seemed rushed even though they weren't busy. Almost rude but I would blame it on her lack of good English. Overall I would go back again but the lady needs to try to be more welcoming. A smile couldn't hurt either. Try being friendly and not short with your customers will probably get you a better tip next time too. I felt like I was bothering her. read more

This is one of the top 2 Thai restaurants I've been to. The food is absolutely delicious, I have a hard time not eating too much. The Showering Rama (chicken and spinich with peanut sauce) is my favorite. Their brown rice is cooked to perfection; Slightly sticky and chewy like it should be. Not too dry, not soggy like most. The fresh rolls (veggies stuffed inside a transparent, slightly sticky rice or noodle-like "tortilla" thingy, served with a sweet dipping sauce) are the only 100% vegetable stuffed things I really, really like. And, mmmmm, they are fresh! The Pad Thai is to die for as well. The only thing I'm not crazy about is service. Last time I went there, my boyfriend commented on how the servers "don't seem very happy". read more

I wasn't expecting much from this place since it's in Shoreline, but I was amazed when I walked in. I couldn't believe how nicely the space was set-up and the food was delicious. My boyfriend's mother is Thai and he says this is the closest he's found to his mom's cooking since he moved up here. I usually find that if a Thai restaurant has a good peanut sauce the food will follow suit, and the peanut sauce here does not disappoint...spicy with bits of peanuts in it, and did I detect a bit of masaman too? Three out of four stars for the entrees, larb guy and showering rama, was just the right amount of spice (lips burning but no runny nose). My parents are coming for a visit this weekend and I can't wait to take them there. They were both stationed in Thailand when they were in the Peace Corp, so I'm excited to see what they think. read more

I live in nearby North City and my boyfriend and I have eaten at Thai Bistro many times this past year. We've also brought friends along occasionally, and all have enjoyed this restaurant. It has been consistently great, so I feel comfortable giving a 5-star rating! The atmosphere is nice; although the restaurant is located in a generic strip mall off 99, its interior is open and well-decorated with lots of attention to detail. Murals and mosaic cover the walls, there's a beautiful carved wood... pergola-thingie (?) in the center of the dining room, and they have a strange assortment of colorful lights throughout the place. So basically, there's a lot to look at and it's a nice place to have a relaxed dinner. It doesn't feel like a takeout place, though they do have a takeout option. As far as the menu, I think the selection is similar to what you'd find at any Thai restaurant. The serving sizes aren't too outrageous. They don't have veggie "meats" but you can sub tofu for meat in most of the dishes. Our recent favorites have been: pad ba mee with extra vegetables and fried rice-- either red curry or basil flavor-- with fried tofu. The veggies have always been varied and fresh, which is great! The food is usually served with plenty of flavor and spice, but if you need to adjust just ask for extra chili. There is a delicious smokey garlic-chili oil in their spice tray. For appetizers, I like their fresh rolls (bf prefers the fried spring rolls). For drinks, they serve wine and beer-- and there is a liquor license application on their door, so I think they may be serving cocktails in the near future? Of course, you can also order thai iced tea, flowering tea, etc. All in all, Thai Bistro is one of our top favorite restaurants in the area. Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere without the crowd or parking hassle. I have never been to Thailand and I'm not saying this is authentic Thai food-- but I've eaten at plenty of Thai restaurants in Seattle and Chicago, and for me Thai Bistro is easily one of the best. For those in Seattle, I even think it might be worth the trip north into Shoreline..! For anyone in Shoreline or nearby, definitely give it a shot. read more

Our table had 4 people so we had plenty of options. I've been here many times and really have never been full disappointed. I will say they are losing a star because the portion sizes have gotten smaller. The place also can get very loud but I think that's because it's popular. My husband had the duck, make sure to move the spinach around to finish cooking it. The duck was a little dry but great flavor. My mom got the red curry which is a favorite of ours. I got the Pad Ew See, which I love! I love the fat egg noodles and the flavor. However the portion size was pretty small and the meat was lacking. This Thai restaurant has been my #1 place for Thai since the day they opened. Their original first opened in Mill Creek. My favorite dishes are Pad Kee Mao with tofu and Basil Fried Rice with chicken. Each time I go, it is pretty consistent. They have an appetizer called Crying Tiger which is killer if you like spicy! The fresh spring rolls are fabulous with their peanut sause.Their Thai Iced Tea is delicious. Other places that I order Thai iced tea, it seems to be on the sweeter side. Thai bistro? More like TERRIBLE bistro. Let me just say, I have never had to leave a review on a restaurant before, but my experience was so poor that I thought I should worn others to not come here. My mom and I ordered the calamari for the appetizer, the taste was so bland, and the calamari was so chewy, it literally felt like my jaw was going to fall off. For the main dish we shared the Pad thai, it wasn't terrible, but I've definitely had better before. The food itself isn't why I am writing this review, it's the service. The service was absolutely TERRIBLE, it took forever for someone to take our order, then when we were finished eating, our waiter was nowhere to be found. Then when he finally passed our table, he made eye contact with me and I asked quickly and politely if he had a a moment to get us the check and boxes. All he replied in return was a sarcastic scoff and continued to be on his way back to the kitchen and my mom and I sat there for another 20 minutes waiting. The food was average. My sister and I were informed the kitchen was closing in twenty minutes and that the host should not have seated us. He apologized but let us order. Halfway through our meal a worker started mopping closeby while we were eating. The food started tasting like the floor cleaner. They also kept looking at us. Granted, we did arrive twenty minutest before they closed and left twenty minutes past closing time. But still, it spoils the dining experience when you taste floor cleaner when you eat. read more

I used to come here often because their food is actually tasty but this review is for the fact that the service has gone way below the expectation. It is not even a big restaurant but they are very slow with customer service. The last time I came I walked out the door because even when we got seated we did not get offered water or took our orders. We waited for over 30 minutes and the waitresses kept walking by us but didn't even acknowledge us at all. I would give this 1 star but since the food was good just bumped it to 2 stars instead. The majority of customers were all Americans and we felt like the only minorities at that time during dinner on a weeknight. But that should not be an excuse to go around the tables and serve. After reading the reviews from other Yelpers, we decided to try this restaurant. Under normal circumstances I would have been suspicious but only because it seemed to take forever for this restaurant to open! Anyway, we were greeted promptly and seated at a comfortable booth. Water came quickly followed by a friendly waitress asking us what we would like to drink. We were given a few minutes and then our order was taken. I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with soft tofu for my daughter, I had the Tom Yum noodle soup with chicken (3 stars), and my husband - the spicy food fiend - ordered the Favorite Cashew with pork (5 stars) with some prik nam pla. The Pineapple Fried Rice was amazing! Our daughter loved it except she wasn't such a fan of the soft tofu. Not the restaurant's fault; it's probably a texture thing. I tried her rice and it was very good. I would definitely order that again. My Tom Yum noodle soup was definitely yum!! It hit the spot with its sweet and spice balance and healthy dose of cilantro. I love cilantro! My husband's Favorite Cashew was not hot enough for him, even with the prik nam pla but this is just like all Thai restaurants...it seems you have to let them get to know you in order to increase the spiciness to insane levels. I have been a loving customer for several years, however, on more than one occasion my bodies reaction to some of their dishes has been unpleasant: Aches, Stomach Cramps, frequent running to the toilet and later seeing my meal come back up, a days loss of work. Stopped to place an order to go. Was always pleased with the food and service. But had noticed the service had been declining. Entered and only one customer was in the restaurant. The sign said wait to be seated, which I did for 5 minutes as the waitress wiped down clean tables. She looked at me twice and said nothing. Finally she came over and asked if she could help me. I said I'd like to place a large order to go and she turned away walking towards the back and said something, I didn't hear her. I said "Sorry, I didn't hear you" and she said I'd have to come back to the bar to place an order to go. I followed her back to the bar and the phone rang. Someone wanted to place an order and she began writing down and explaining the menu. I politely said "Excuse me, I was here first, would you please take my order before helping the phone customer". She looked away and continued to help the customer on the phone. Frustrated I reached over and pushed down the button on the phone disconnecting her from the customer. I asked if she understood what I had said, and she said yes. I told I wanted to place an order for a dinner party I was hosting for 15 people, figured about 400 to 500 dollars. Was going to place my order, pay for it, and come back in one hour and pick up. Then she said in the most uncaring way "what do you want" to which I replied, "nothing". The first time I was somewhat apprehensive as it is located in the same complex as a grocery store and dry cleaners..not really a strip mall but that is besides the point. The decor is great and feels like a restaurant you would find downtown. I ordered the Pud Kee Mao beef and it was delicious, my husband ordered the Thai Basil, which was good- but he thought it needed a little more basil so he sent it back and they were happy to oblige.
