This has been my go to for Thai food in North Valley for 15 years. But last few times things have gone down hill. Maybe it's rising costs in food prices but this was not what I expected when ordering a dinner size portion from here. First the container was smaller. (Was significantly smaller) then normal which would have been ok but now it's 1/2 rice an half entree. Egg rolls are also just run it mill Sysco frozen ones. (Definitely not worth the $7 for 2) I will not be going back unfortunately and had to share my experience. read more

It has been a minute since I visited this establishment. Clean, well maintained interior. Nice soothing colors. Our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. Quick, efficient service, very enjoyable. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were huge and delicious! My friend had the shrimp Pad-Thai and I enjoyed the Pad-Ga-Prow Nuea. Wonderful fresh ingredients! Absolutely worst food ever. I was worried when I went into the restaurant and it smelled like glade plug ins. The sweet and sour chicken was disgusting. The photo on the website shows stir fried chicken, pineapple and vegetables. I got horrible fried chicken, white rice, a soggy egg roll and that was it. Nasty. Nothing as the photo described. The pad tai had to be thrown away it was all stuck together and was like chewing gum. Terrible taste. The beef could not be eaten. The crab Rangoon had terrible tasting imitation crab meant. Just terrible when you spend $60 on dinner and have to throw it away! Had to order McDonald's which was far better!! read more

I just had an awful experience at this place. This is a long review, but if you don't want to read it all, in summary this place is 1) unsanitary - hair in the food and smells like sewer in the restaurant; and 2) the customer service is terrible. The first red flag was that the restaurant had a very strong sewer/bathroom smell. However, I let that slide because we were getting take out and you know what this is Albuquerque not every place is going to be super cute. I ordered $60 worth of takeout, which included an $8 tip, and when I got home and started eating, I found not one, but TWO hairs in separate dishes. I only have a picture of one of the hair because the second hair was so nasty that we just threw it out immediately. I called the restaurant and spoke to the lady, who promised a refund. So we drove back and she completely changed her tune and refused to give me any money back and told us that she could only give us credit or remake the food. We told her that we didn't feel comfortable eating the food again and just wanted a refund like we were promised. To make things worse, when I mentioned the hair, she actually told me that "hair in food is not a big deal" and that it was "okay." She also said that they were a small business and tried to make it as if we did not support small businesses. (Please keep in mind we gave an $8 dollar tip on takeout because we DO support small businesses.) Outside of the food being unsanitary the food in general was pretty subpar, and the customer service was downright terrible. I highly advise others to avoid this place unless you want to risk getting sick. I am going to report this place to the NM food and safety department because honestly, it was just so gross. read more

There are three restaurants I absolutely must visit when I'm in New Mexico: Tomasita's in Santa Fe, Turtle Mountain Brewery in Rio Rancho, and Thai Cuisine in Albuquerque. I live in the Boston area, where there are a LOT of really good Thai restaurants, but Thai Cuisine beats just about all of them. The curry is EXCELLENT, wonderfully spicy. The Pad Thai is crunchy in all the right ways. The noodle dishes are amazing. The iced Thai green tea is delicious. I recommend the lunch specials, which come with soup, spring rolls, and fresh fruit. The service is amazing: friendly, prompt, and very helpful. I have multiple food allergies (wheat, dairy, nuts). The staff are incredibly good at making sure my food is safe to eat, and I never worry when I eat there. I don't understand why this restaurant isn't constantly packed with diners. If you're in the area and craving some good Thai food, I highly recommend Thai Cuisine. read more

Finally I got here. I've had many people recommend it,it's just down the street and it's taken me 15 years to get here. My loss. I had a lunch special which includes: soup, egg rolls (2 small), black rice pudding and fruit. My main course choice was Chicken pad Thai. For many years x I couldn't find anything to compare to my Shaker Heights, OH favorite. I finally just stopped comparing. Thai Cuisines lunch was very good. Lovely Thai flavors, generous portions, great service. It was quiet when we entered , many others filed in after us. My husband like his pineapple and rice combo, he forgot the name ! Time for dinner and needing to to break out of our rut and try something different. Well Thai is different and it's close to the house. Ordering was pretty straight forward. Vegetable roll appetizer then for entrees Pineapple Curry & Chicken Pad Thai. The rolls were tasty, lightly fried and not overly greasy with a sweet dipping sauce. Both entrees were equally tasty. Good flavor, no single spice overpowered the dish. There was plenty enough to eat and a little for the next day. My favorite part of the meal was the Black Rice Pudding. It was in a covered in what a think was a sweet cream. Sweet dish without being too sweet. It was a great compliment to the meal. We'll keep coming back even if just for the desert! read more

Their website calls them Thai Cuisine Teriyaki Queen but for lunch they only had teriyaki chicken plus a bunch of Thai dishes. Maybe for dinner they tack on more teriyaki. We ordered takeout, and got a beef Larb Na salad, a beef Pad See Ew, a bland chicken & noodle dish, beef basil fried rice, and a tofu pineapple fried rice. Also some fried chicken potstickers. First the good. Personnel were polite and had it all ready on time. Now the bad - wife's Larb Na had no sauce or dressing provided. I don't know if this is "more authentic" but she didn't like it's absence. Could've been an honest error on their part. The Pad See Ew tasted "weird" according to those who tried it. They also said the broccoli had a wasabi (!) flavor added. They ate it though. The chicken & noodles were eaten by kids who didn't complain. The two fried rice dishes sucked. Rice was plainly not fried, at least not long, and was pure pearly white. So essentially steamed rice stirred with a few ingredients. Not nearly enough. Overall very bland. Yes I ordered it mild but could still have had non-chile spice, more protein, or more veggies beyond a few straggling shreds of cabbage. So came to this wonderful place for the first time two months ago. We loved it, so much that we held a confirmation lunch here. The staff was very accommodating with us, I made the reservation a week before and went in a few days before to talk about menu. Since majority of our party had not tried Thai before, I took the guesswork from them and ordered three trays of food ($60 each). This has been our go-to for Albuquerque Thai for years. Even my brother who lives in California said it was the best. Visited tonight and had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Pad Thai was insanely sweet and inedible. We were told they use tamarind and the sauce was brown with how sweet it was. The other noodle dish we had was super salty and our potato curry had raw potatoes in it. Never experienced a restaurant falling off this badly. We tried to send food back since some was literally uncooked and inedible and they refused. We will never go back. read more

I usually try to find a silver lining; however, there was only tasteless food and a nasty dirtiness to this place. AVOID. Go to Thai Boran down the street. First off, tea wasn't brought to me for about 15 minutes. The food was supposed to come with noodles but came with rice. There was no prior explanation like they were out of noodles or what. Anyway my food came out as the wrong dish. They go by a number system, so you don't say the name of the dish, you say a number. It must help with the language barrier. Be prepared to be clear because there is still a major language barrier. I was brought blended Thai tea of some sort when I ordered a simple "iced tea." It smells like sewer when you pay attention. I should have left but ordered and would have felt bad. I should have though. I should have left because the food was a soup but what I ordered wasn't a soup. A soup came with a side of plain rice? What? Weird. The place was gross and dirty and you can see my pics. Anyway the waitress didn't check back to refill tea or anything. I lost my appetite. None of the booth tables were cleaned and there were dirty dishes everywhere. I would have taken a pic but that would have been really rude. My review is enough. Should I call the health department? I don't know the process but can learn. It was BAD. Thai Boran is wayyyy better and the same price. It's inevitable, a year from now, we'll be ordering from this cute little restaurant yet again, and yet again, we'll be wondering why we did. It's impossible to resist every now and then, I mean, this is Thai food just one block from my house -- it can't be so bad, right? It isn't. The imaginatively titled Thai Cuisine is beginner, west side Thai, the employees are lovely, it's the kind of place I could imagine enjoying lunch with my spice-sensitive British grandmother. There's just not much happening in these entrees. Our most recent meal had me adding lime, fish sauce and tamari from my own kitchen to keep things relatively flavorful. People, I absolutely love Thai food. I dearly wish this place took some risks. Instead, for the next year, I'm driving up the street to Thai Boran. I love this Thai restaurant. It is my go to. The husband and wife cook all the food to perfection and the service is impeccable. Due to COVID-19 there is no dine in right now but all take out orders are fantastic and tasty. My favorite thing to eat here is the L9 on the lunch menu it is spicy fried rice. I always go with medium heat and if I choose to go hotter I can ask for some chili to go or you can purchase some of the hot chili oil that they sell. This is a must. One of my go to's for Thai food! Took my wife for her first time and she loved it too! Thai currys is where it's at especially if you like hot food! Customizable spice levels they'll ask so you can choose your adventure. I love the C4 curry with sticky rice! We also tried the fried wontons and mango sticky rice desert! The only thing I'd want more of is meat. My wife thought hers was low on the meat too she had a Thai noodle plate. Other than that everything is bet good tasting though! Yum! A little disappointed in Thai Cuisine. I've been coming here for over 7 years, I hadn't been in about 6 months so I decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered my usual teriyaki beef and I was very disappointed. Usually they give a good amount of beef, mine almost felt like they provided me the scrapings they had leftover from another order: really really small pieces of beef I finished in about three bites. I wish I would have taken a picture, but I was with company so I didn't want to outright show my disappointment. Majority of my meal was rice. STEER CLEAR. I will not return to this place, except to return some parts of last night's to go order later this afternoon. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken and red curry with chicken. The total for both was about $20. The Pad Thai had decent flavor, but I'd think that a Thai restaurant would make bomb Pad Thai. The Pad Thai at Pei Wei is FAR superior. The rice noodles were gummy, which was mentioned by someone in a previous review. It was like Pad Thai blob with a lil bit of chicken mixed in. The red curry tasted like curry, but it was all bad from there. I ordered it "Thai hot" but it wasn't close - Sadie's salsa is far hotter. That's no biggie though. This was over half comprised of bamboo shoots (see picture) - I'm not exaggerating - more than half of the entree was bamboo shoots. There was also a bonus metal shaving stuck in there for extra texture and flavor. Further, the menu offers either jasmine or brown rice. I love jasmine rice. It's fragrant and has a really light flavor that isn't there with white rice. Whatever was in the to go box last night was long grain white rice. I get that real jasmine rice is more expensive, but don't put it on the menu if you don't really mean it. I wish there was a top notch Thai restaurant near my house. Stopped into Thai Cuisine suffering a jones for black rice with coconut milk dessert. Got a large bowl of it (enough for two or even three people if you also had a curry meal from the kitchen beforehand, which I had not) for $6. The rice was very nicely done, flavor and texture was just right. Rich nutty taste, nicely complimented by the sweetness of the coconut milk, with that toothy chewiness that makes black rice such a delight. I hogged the whole thing down. I will return eventually to try out some of their Thai entrees based on the quality of the dessert I had. I also found the restrained decor pleasing and not at all garish. In our effort to support local business, last night we decided to have Thai food. We choose Thai Cuisine and were not disappointed. We had the fresh shrimp spring rolls (which by the way had only 1/2 a shrimp in each strip, comes with two), the Thom Yum soup medium spice, chicken Pad Thai mild spice, and chicken massaman curry. It was delicious. the Thom Yum soup at he medium spice was a bit too spicy for us, but we continued to have it as the flavors were delicious. The massaman curry was good over rice; but the star of the night was the Pad Thai, my daughter devoured it and did not leave us any. She thoroughly enjoyed the fresh flavors and wanted to know if we could order out again tonight. Overall very good! read more
