Just came across this place randomly. We are new to Austin and looking for some good Thai food and the reviews sounded good. We went some basic dishes and it was really good so a week later, we went back again! We started off with the Tom Ka and added chicken with a medium spice. It's quite delicious and comes with tender pieces of chicken breast and the mushroom pieces are quite big. Highly recommend this soup! For our entree's we had the Pad Thai with chicken, Pad Se Ewe with chicken and the Thai Fried Rice. We chose the medium spice for everything it's a nice spice but not too hot. The Pad Thai was definitely some of the best we have ever had. We did order it with vegetables and it's a bit disappointing. Disappointing because you have to pay extra for the vegetables and they really don't add much. Again, these are great Pad Thai noodles but I wish they would just put in veggies like any traditional Thai restaurant. The Pad Se Ewe wasn't as good as the Pad Thai. The noodles were over cooked. We did eat it and if we go again, we might try again to see if that was just a bad batch. And the fried rice was similar to the Pad Thai. We ordered with vegetables and they barely added any in. Again, very disappointing to pay more for something and they don't add. And unfortunately this was delivery so it isn't as though we could send it back. Last, we had the Tofu Spring Rolls with the peanut sauce. They are quite good and I could easily eat these every day. Thai food recommendation lists in Austin are incomplete without Thai Cuisine. The complimentary Tom Yum is delicious with a spicy twist. The pad Thai is fantastic as is the Pad Kee Mao. We had dinner at Thai Cuisine, ordering vegetable spring rolls and Thai basil fried rice. We expected the spring rolls to be fried, but they weren't, and they were just okay. I am having a hard time to decide between giving this a 3 or a 4 star. I ordered the fried chicken plate which goes with garlic rice. Unfortunately, my fried chicken looked great on the outside but tasted really dry on the inside. My wife probably thought they over fried. Now the good is they have an all you can eat salad and soup. I wish their plates were a little bit bigger, but I can understand that they do not want people to waste food. The bar may not been to big, but the vegetables look fresh and not too moldy. They have 2 dressings ranch and honey mustard. They also serve soup and got a taste of it and it was really good. They have vegetable rolls which were okay and fried spring rolls which were awesome. This is a place we used to go to regularly. It's not far from home and their flavors are on point. It's actually one of our favorite Thai restaurants. Their dishes are consistent with good taste and quality. However their servers could use some pepping up! They look and sound so miserable when taking your order or delivering your dishes bringing gloom and rain clouds whenever they come around. The Tom Ka and Pad Se ewe are usually my go to but the menu is enormous and they have an array of curry or fried rice dishes that will satisfy every taste . This place also has an array of seafood and other Thai dishes that don't disappoint. It's usually packed and seats are limited due to covid so either get some to go if you can't wait or be patient as they might not have seating till someone leaves on the inside . There is usually outdoor seating but since it's been quite hot lately even in the late evening indoors seem to be the better choice for some . I love this place! I'm a creature of habit and used to always get the Pad Thai-loved it. Then I was encouraged by my nutritionist to try a stir-fry so I switched to the Pra Ram and omg-heaven. I've ordered that consistently for months now and am never disappointed. It's like Pad Thai minus the noodles with more veggies and rice on the side. Recently I was strangely craving curry(although I'd only ever tried green curry elsewhere and it killed me-I don't do spicy well), so I got the yellow curry. This was the richest, most flavorful "soup" I've ever had. I hadn't been feeling well for a few days, and this hit the spot. Our first visit this evening and it was very disappointing. The food quality was average at best. It was served warm, not at all hot. My husband and I both asked for 2 spice. Mine wasn't spicy and my husbands was so hot his mouth was burning. Worst of all, we've all had an upset tummy ever since we got home aside from the children who only had fries which were served hot. My friend and I were craving some pad thai and she recommended this restaurant. it's rather easy to get to and even though they have a parking lot, spots near the restaurant itself were filled but not a big deal! was still able to find parking. We sat inside a booth and given menus and waters right away. Thai Cuisine is right across the street from my house, and I've ordered to go from them twice now. First time, I ordered pad kee mao for lunch. They told me it would be ready in 5-10 minutes so I showed up about 15 minutes later and my order still wasnt ready. So I waited and waited, my order finally came out 30 minutes later. Granted it was lunch and they were super busy. However, they should have told me 40 minutes not 5-10. It's just about setting expectations with the customer. Now the food was pretty good, so I decided to give them another try. On this most recent order I called and ordered a red curry with chicken for dinner, told it would be ready in 20 minutes. This time it was ready early and the restaurant was empty, but there were many to-go orders. The red curry and rice is a very good size portion for the price and they wrapped it very well so it wouldn't spill in the car. The curry was just... underwhelming. I dont know if the tomatoes and pineapple make it too sweet or if I didn't specify my spice level, but it just tasted off. Red curry is usually my go-to curry at thai restaurants because it's not sweet. On top of the overwhelming sweetness, it just lacked depth of flavor. The people at thai cuisine are always very friendly and wear masks so you can tell they are very much an integral part of the community and they care, but the food is just average. This is the ultimate Thai comfort food - it tastes like your mom cooked this at home just for you! Besides that, the major perk is that they have an appetizer bar that is FREE and UNLIMITED! They do rotate a couple items but generally they provide fresh spring rolls, two types of soup (tom yum + a sweet and sour soup), salad, and one of the best crispy rolls I've ever had. I am not too sure what it is exactly called, but that crispy roll was one of the best things I've had - and it was free! Also the bar had a refreshing rice tapioca pudding with red beans for dessert. It was super delicious and paired well after the meal. I came with friends and ordered crab fried rice (Right), pad se ewe (Bottom), King's curry (Left), and a spicy lemongrass chicken (Top) as seen in my photo. I recommend getting the spicy lemongrass - it was very well rounded in flavor and tasty! You can pick what kind of meat you would like in most of the dishes. Their menu is pretty extensive so there is definitely something for everyone. I recommend ordering a lot so you can share with friends and try a bit of everything. I can't believe it took me this long to try Thai Cuisine. One of the best value to taste Thai restaurant in Austin. Came here for lunch on a weekend and was relieved it wasn't that busy. But I can see how this place can get super packed during weekday lunch with a lot of workplaces around this area. I can tell they try to make the effort to make this place clean as well. They have a solid get-as-you-please appetizer bar with salad, soup, spring rolls and fried spring rolls. I'm always a sucker for fried spring rolls and was delightfully surprised that they contained meat! Some had tiny shrimp, and some looked vegetarian. Now that's value. Their Tom Kha was great, but a little but on the citrus-y side than I've normally had. And of course I skipped the salad. I got the pork Pad Thai with spicy level 3, with 3 being the max. I was naive getting the max spicy level. A younger me probably would've been able to handle it, but for a normal spice tolerant person, I'd would get the 2 level. And the Pad Thai was everything I love in a Pad Thai. The sauce was quite saucy and thick and the right mix of sweet and savory. And the rice noodles were very springy and chewy. Second stop on my journey to find the best Pad Thai in Austin is Thai Cuisine. I online ordered Pad Thai with chicken and flower bombs for pick-up. Flower bombs: 1/5; Advertised as having cream cheese, green onion, and imitation crab. As you can see from the pictures, they were flat, with extremely minimal filling and there was no green onion or crab meat in any of them. It was essentially deep fried wonton wrappers with cream cheese. I thought $8 for 5 was expensive, but was willing to pay that for what I thought would be a crab rangoon type appetizer. I was extremely disappointed with the quality and felt like I was cheated. Pad Thai: 3/5; Cons: Off the bat, the flavor is not exactly what I'm looking for. It's not sweet enough for my liking and is missing some depth in flavor. The peanuts added were not toasted. It was like a raw peanut mush that didn't add much flavor to the dish at all. The beansprouts were also added after the fact, so were uncooked. Whenever you bite into them, it gives off an overwhelming dirty water taste that takes away from the dish. Pros: There was a generous serving that felt appropriate for the price and included an excellent amount of chicken and egg. The noodles also had a great texture and bite, which is very important in a good Pad Thai. The flavor, while lacking IMO, was not bad at all, so definitely acceptable in a pinch. read more

Firstly, the service here is great. All hardworking and very attentive. We've been here many times and service has never changed, however the prices have def gone up (still affordable). Secondly, they have lunch 'specials' 7 days a week which include a salad bar + 2 soups + Crab Rangoons + Egg/mixed rolls + dessert. The soups are legit, however the crab Rangoon was stale and the mixed roll said it had chicken and shrimp in the description, but nothing of the sort to be found inside. Moving on the entrees, all were really tasty. The green curry was delicious as was the pad see ew. The emerald fried rice I remembered being better last time but still tasty. Very disappointing experience. Got inside at 2.20, place closes at 2.30 pm. A few customers behind us and still pretty crowded inside. Waiter was rushing us to order. There is not much left on the small buffet table. When I asked him if there are more springs rolls left, he said that kitchen is closing. Owner saw me being upset and did not come out to talk, he was busy with cooking his own lunch. Ok. Waited and waited for food, while curbside orders were being completed. Decided to take to go. No apology or thank you. Not going back. This place went down with quality of food and service. And place is dirty too. Look at the health score. Barely passing. Overall I'd give this spot 4.5! The main draw for me here is the buffet style soup and salad bar. I was hoping it was a full Thai style buffet (since that would be unique and fresh) but this still added an amazing touch to your meal. The food itself was delicious and I got the kings curry for lunch. Super flavorful by itself but what completes the experience was again the bar. Amazing Tom yum soup with actual mushrooms and chicken in the soup, a veggie tofu soup, fresh salad, and simple spring rolls with some rice noodles and lettuce. This place has been my mom's favorite. She recently had a surgery and was craving their food, we visited yesterday and my mom's plate had no salt and NO taste what so ever. I asked for help and was told to get salt from the appetizer buffet area. Then, I requested a discount of 50% and they didn't not care and said I had to pay in FULL. As much business as they get, they cannot afford to compensate $7 dollars for a bad entree meal experience? We arrived there at 12 PM sharp, and already packed with lunch wait. 10 minutes later, we got ourselves a table. Lunch menus has not changed much from Pre-Covid. We had looked into what we wanted while we were waiting so went ahead and ordered Crab fried rice and Pad Se-Ew. Their made-yourself salad bar, appetizers bar has crab Rangoon and Vietnamese spring roll. The soups usually has two flavors. And simple dessert bar is my favorite black sticky rice with coconut. The Crab fried rice is the bomb!!! You can see the generous portion of real crab meat in the rice. It's too good that I ate my date's lunch!! What did I do with my lunch, in case you wondered, ( I packed it to go for my dinner!!) Genius !!! Total came out for two lunches and a Thai ice tea costs $37.24.
