Wow! Great find! Went to this location to visit another food truck and perused the lot. Ended up eating here for lunch and taking Q home for the following day. First, very nice customer service. :) Second, a relatively large menu to choose from. Third, very reasonable prices. Lastly, everything was friggin delicious! Lol. Tried the tofu green curry, ordered spicy. "Are you sure?" with grin. 'Yes!" Flavor bomb, not too spicy. Everything balanced, total perfection, and very large serving size. Honestly, enough to share for two with an app - or leftovers, personally love! The chicken satay appetizer (not on regular menu) was cooked fantastically, very juicy, peanut sauce nomnomnomnom, and came with four large skewers. $8! Yay! The crab rangoons were honestly the best I've ever had in my life, and that's saying something. I have had hundreds. These were plump and generously filled with delicious crab cheese mix, not greasy, totally smashable. Not just fried wonton with a pinch of filling. Overall, I highly recommend you run, don't walk. My wife is a semi- fan of Thai food so when I bright home Chiang Mai it was a bit of a surprise because we were planning on a different food truck but it was closed. A surprising gift because they became the Self crowned "best pineapple fried shrimp I've had in Austin" award from my wife. And you know how that saying goes, happy wife.... So, a big thumbs up. But the global supply chain crisis means no rare Northern Thai ingredients make their way to Four Points, Austin. So Chiang Mai sticks with the American favorites. The truck is heavy on fried rice. Absolutely delicious food. Hot, delicious, fresh. Got the tofu fried rice, tofu pad Thai, and yellow Tom yum curry and shared it between my husband and I. Would definitely get again. Only reason I take a star off is bc I had made an online order and when I arrived to pick it up, I approached the window and stood in front of it. There were three staff members in the food truck and all standing at window (which was open) packing up food. They knew I was standing there and did not say anything to me for like 10 minutes.... Not even a "hello" or "be with you in a minute". I figured they would speak to me when they were ready. But nah. Didn't even bother to make eye contact with me even though I was literally standing right in front of them.. Eventually I spoke up when I heard them talking amongst themselves about my order. Decided to try out Chiang Mai after it was recommended to me by my tour guide over at Lake Travis Zipline Adventures, about a 10 minutes drive away. I can most certainly say: there's a reason locals love and recommend this lovely food truck! Not only is the owner super sweet and eager to answer any questions I had, but she and her staff also take a lot of care in making sure food is cooked to perfection and your specifications (in terms of spiciness levels, they can make it spicier if you take a bite and think your dish isn't spicy enough). I had the Pad Kee Mao with tofu, and it included red and green bell peppers, carrots, basil, and chili peppers. It was delicious!! Not too oily, perfectly cooked flat noodles, and a spicy kick -- not sure why else you could ask for in these delicious noodles! Pairs perfectly with their green Thai tea. Portion size looks deceivingly small in the pictures (combination of angle and the box?), but it's a decent size portion and enough to fill you up. Whenever I'm in the area, will make sure to stop by Chiang Mai again. Nothing like a green Thai tea on a hot day to hit the spot! I had just fish cakes recently (Tod Mun) for a afternoon snack and it was the bomb. This is not a dish on most Thai menus in Austin for some reason even though it is a staple of most Thai places I've eaten at else where - perhaps it's a regional or taste preference issue. I was amazed at what a little box of goodness this was from the delicate spongy fried texture, tiny hand shaped cakes and tangy vinegar dipping sauce with fresh cucumber, chilies and a separate cup of crushed peanuts. As many of you may know- I love Thai food and is my favorite. I am blown away by the flavor, quality, and value they are providing. Any dishes can have tofu sub'ed for plant based choices. We've eaten here 4 times already. I wont say it got better each time, because all 4 times it was EXCELLENT! My new favorite is Drunken Noodles, a tad spicy, but so yummy!
