I have been coming here for years, and after my recent visit realized that I had never reviewed it! It's a small place and you may get your dishes one at a time when with a group, but it's soooooo worth it. You can also bring a bottle of wine and they have a very reasonable corkage fee. I have never had a bad dish here. The curries are fabulous and vegetarians can find a great variety. If you can get a whole fish (redfish, etc) special before they sell out, consider yourself lucky. The food was good. Thai Iced Tea was a bit too sweet for me. Veg egg roll with peanut sauce, Red Curry, Green Curry & Pad Thai was really delicious. The curry fried rice was really flavorful - the only part that I didn't like with this dish was that the tofu had some weird taste (maybe because it was soft. It should have been more crispy). Let me preface this by saying the first meal I have an any new city is always Thai. That being said, I have a pretty good grasp on the most common Thai dishes. I had the Tom Kha soup and the Kee Mao. The Tom Kha = awesome! I got mine without mushrooms, no meat, extra vegetables. It was delightful. I wish I would've gotten another bowl of it instead of my noodle dish. After the soup being so delicious, I had high expectations for the Kee Mao. Unfortunately, those expectations lead me astray. ...The serving was plentiful, both the protein and vegetables mixed in were plentiful, but in general the sauce lacked real flavor. The heat level was just right, which I do commend them on; however, this dish alone was worthy of only three stars. I decided to give them four stars because the service was good, the soup was wonderful, and I have hopes that other dishes might be better since the soup was so good. Perhaps it was just an off-day. I went to Thai Dee with co-workers for lunch and it was good, but didn't blow my socks off like I was hoping it would. I try the Pad Kee Mow at every Thai restaurant I visit and the "Kee Mow" here was good, but not amazing. I did taste my co-worker's Pad See Ew and it was one of the best I've ever had though! The atmosphere is cozy and nice, despite the outer appearance of the building. As for spiciness, they only had no spice, medium and hot. We asked for something along mild lines and he said ok, but it came out with absolutely no spice. I'd like to go back and try other dishes! Then I might give it more stars! read more

This restaurant was completely average, the food tasted like it was made by a newbie homecook. It definitely lacks authenticity and certainly restaurant quality. The only positive thing about this restaurant was that the waiters were friendly and the ambience was okay. Sadly the food was absolutely bizarre. The 'pad thai' we ordered tasted utterly bland, tasted like rice noodle fried with sugar. The texture of the rice noodles felt too soft which signifies overcooking. Other dishes all tasted the same, bland. The only "okay" dish was the 'chicken fried rice' that still had a little taste of "Thai". As an asian tourist, I felt the dishes completely misses the spicy bold flavors of Thai cuisine. I have tasted better Thai restaurants in America and it is obviously "incomparable" to restaurants in Thailand. I absolutely felt it was an utter disgrace to Thai cuisine. I hope their food improves when i do come back to San Antonio. 2 stars for me, and i do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. read more

Amazing! We go at least once a week and can't get enough. The Khee mow is amazing as is the Basil Leaves dish and the spring rolls are to die for. My husband gets his food Thai hot while I tend to go milder . My son loves the pepper steak as well and the food is always hot. The only complaint is that it is constantly crowded they need to move! I walked in at lunch time on Saturday and was immediately seated and provided with water. I also told the waitress that I was vegan, and she knew exactly what that meant. She asked what I liked, and said they could easily make the spicy eggplant dish with tofu and extra veggies instead of chicken and shrimp. I double checked to make sure no animal byproducts were accidentally hiding somewhere, but her knowledge was very apparent and made me feel confident in my choice. It was delicious! I had the basil noodles which were great, spicy (as it should be) my only complaint is way too many vegetables and not enough of the delicious noodles, I added pork to my order and it was more than sufficient. Others had the chicken friend basil rice and shrimp pad thai noodles. They were in a food coma by the end of the meal but keep on eating.
