This is my favorite Thai place for lunch in the Schaumburg area. I've been coming here on and off for the past decade and its always a solid choice. The place is pretty big and decor is nice enough. The food is excellent and the lunch specials come with hot soup and egg roll. I saw a couple reviews complaining about their Pad Thai. I can't comment on that because I never order it. They have several dishes paired with rice that are all excellent. I recommend trying those. read more

First time been here, as one of my favs (Gumrai Thai, Arlington Heights] is equidistant--and cheaper [better value/taste], in retrospect. This place is easily visible from Golf, but its pushed back away from the street in a strip mall (aren't most Thai joints?) and you need to make a uey at the light if you're heading Westbound--lotsa parking. Place is big inside--I would venture to say could hold close to 100 people, and a good mix of small and big tables, and booths. Temperature was variant throughout unfortunately, though we managed to snag a seat right smack in the middle of the place where it was Even Steven temperature wise. My wife and I were the only Asian troops in there [and o' course, I'm only 1/2 :) ]. Ordered the usuals. The Crab Rangoon ($4.75) were a small 6-piece set: when I say small I mean mai yai...these things were thumb-sized. Further, they were extremely deep fried: I think genetically they were half Chinese throwing stars. Sweet and sour sauce was average. Pad Kee Mao (they called it Spicy Noodle) was OK portion-size-wise, but a little pang ($9.25 for beef--all diff prices ranging from the cheapest as tofu [$8.25] to Seafood [$12.25]). While decently spicy and only of medium temperature, it was good tasting but not great and had a little too much oil residual: I was thrown for a loop with the celery! and cabbage! what the? Adding insult to injury--straw mushrooms onboard but not on the menu [I usually order 'mai aow het!!'...but I didn't think it was going to be issue--oh well]. Pooh got [surprisingly not normally a noodle chick] Pad Si-Ew (pork, $8.95--same sliding scale as above) )and we both liked it better than my PKM [taste, oil residual, quantity]. On the up side, $1.55 Diet Cokes included refills. Still, there's only so much refills can do to prop up a score. They have a typical lunch menu: smaller prices with appetizer included, but we didn't order off that, though it's possible we got those sized portions. If half-stars were a possibility, this may be a 3.5, but out of an abundance of caution, 3 is a more realistic appraisal--all things considered. Thai House just a couple blocks over we found of better value and tastier previously, and I'll review that next time I go. read more

I really enjoyed everything about this place. I was visiting the Chicago area with a group and everyone was in the mood for Thai. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was glorious. If you ordered it not-to-spicy, it was not-too-spicy, and if you ordered it spicy, it was spicy. This is actually very important to me. I hate ordering something spicy and having it be either so hot I can't even breathe or so mild that I feel cheated. I wish this restaurant were near where I live.... read more

I tried the Panang curry, it's my favorite dish and I saw great reviews. I don't know if my one order was a fluke, but it was incredibly greasy (red/orange grease floating on top of the curry) and not as much flavor as I've had at many other places. I would rather order from Dan Thai :/ read more

When they get it right it's very good. Unfortunately, they are very inconsistent. For example our last orders came wrong...they forgot the peanuts in the nom sod and no limes were provided for any of the dishes we ordered for pick up. I don't think it's worth the trip anymore. read more

Omg!!!!! Cockroach!!!!!! Horrible experience. My BFF and I went to this restaurant last night July 14th 2017. When we entered the place it was packed assuming the food is good, we got very excited. My friend and I both love Thai food. We sat down and ordered soup. As soon as the server opened the lid... I saw a live "COCKROACH!!!!!!!!!" running for his life on the base of the soup bowl... if we get one in our food there are zillions back in the kitchen!!!!! Pot stickers tasted like store bought and very oily. Very slow service, even when the restaurant was more than half empty.

The food here is great. The portions are a good size and the veggies are super fresh and crispy. I love their crab ragoon and the egg rolls are good too. If your in the mood for something a little different (and spicy) try the Duck Basil. read more

Another strip mall restaurant....don't let that fool you though. The food here is amazing!!! The décor and atmosphere is a little dated and tired, but it is all about the food! A great selection of different Thai dishes...loads of Thai people who patronize the place...the duck curry is the most amazing flavor I have ever had in my life and I LOVE it!!! I have eaten at Thai Garden dozens of times in the past 5 years. I certainly owe them a review by now. The lunch specials are good, quite fresh, served with soup and egg roll. I prefer ordering dinner portions (for the leftovers, of course!) The soups are usually fabulous -- both the Tom Yums and the Tom Khas are delicious, full of flavor. I wish there were a few more veggies in there, but I enjoy them. The entrees, especially the curries (Panang, Green, Mussaman) are satisfying, and generous in portion. The can be a bit spicy, depending of the cook. I am also a fan of their Thai Iced Coffees. Their appetizers are good, especially the Satays. Why a four star rather than a five star review? I'd give them a 4 1/2 star if Yelp allowed it. Occasionally, the service is spotty, and their ground beef dishes (like the Basil Beef) tend to be greasy. I routinely bypass lots of other Thai restaurants I have tried closer to home (Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights) to enjoy a meal at Thai Garden. read more

Really good Ginger thai chicken!! Just make sure to ask for plenty of chicken on take out or they will skim you on the chicken and give you lots of ginger sauce. They also can make bubble tea ,,yum.. which is basically a smoothie with tapioca. I absolutely adore spice and as such, Thai food. I went here again for the first time in what seems like nearly a decade and sweet baby Jesus their penang curry noodle dish was fantastic. Of course I requested the meltdown level of heat that was not nearly spicy enough to justify its label but the curry was fantastic and so were the noodles. Why only 4 out of 5 stars? Because they gave me hardly enough noodles to call the dish a meal and I left, not with the hunger for more caused by a well-designed dish, but the hunger from sheer lack of sustenance. I will be back Thai Garden, and when I do, I expect to leave a full man. read more

Had pretty good curry dishes here many times. Decided to try something new and ordered basil duck from the chef's specialty list. Disappointed on the first look, too much onion on the plate, sauce was watery. I love onion and don't mind eating a little more of it. But the proportion was just too much. Duck, not that good either. Tough and chewy. Only 1 or 2 pieces were okay. Basil flavor wasn't really there. The other dishes we ordered were way too sweet. Maybe just one of those chef's bad days. Not a bad spot for Thai food. The one great thing about it are all the side choices for most menu items, so vegetarians can easily substitute tofu or vegetables for meat if they prefer, and seafood is also an option. I love the panang curry, and the coconut ice cream with fried banana wraps is excellent. On the other hand, service can be a bit slow; my coworkers and I had one experience where our waitress sure took her time to check up on us, but otherwise the food makes up for it. I eat a fair amount of Thai food at a lot of different restaurants. Each restaurant brings a little something different to the table. In this case, I really like the Thai style spicy fried rice at Thai garden. Many of the other entrees on the menu are excellent as well however I generally go to Thai garden for my Thai style fried rice fix. It's excellent and I usually get it with shrimp. They don't skimp on the shrimp and they are well cooked. Their sauce is a little sweet a little spicy and just perfect for me. My wife generally gets the pad si yu which is excellent as well. Tom yum soup is delicious. Lunch specials are a great value and service is quick and courteous. The ambiance is actually quite nice for dinner as well. read more

A big zero star...Went for a soup in there but unfortunately went about 45 mins before they close, just because of that, the thai servers were giving us attitude and was repeatedly telling us that they close at 10pm. We couldn't even seat and she started asking what do we want, that also without handing the menu, it was our first time there, This kind of service unecceptable here is US. We used to love going here but today just changed that. Dining in after so long was definitely not the same and I wish we had just ordered to pick up. In addition to that the owner decided to say she remembered us and claimed we were "the restless group." This was completely insulting and started the evening off on a bad note. Then the server did a poor job as well. The peanut sauce was not even a sauce, it took forever for the food, checking in to make sure everything was great was nonexistent, and when we needed something it took forever to get the server to come to the table. Their lunch specials are my favorite, cheap and you get so much delicious food, i always get the vegetable egg roll because it's amazing, i really love the mild soup, i love the garlic-y flavor and the vegetables in there, although my ex really loved the spicy soup. The panang chicken meal and the pad thai meal were the best. I am obsessed with their panang curry. I have eaten here twice and received great food and service. Located in a suburban strip mall, you have to look close to find. I usually order my food 'Thai Hot', but 'Hot-2' is hot enough here! The Tom Yum soup is very tasty and all of the curries are well done. I am not from the area, but Thai Garden is the best Thai I have found in Chicagoland so far. read more

This is our family's go-to Thai place. Fantastic food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. All their ingredients are fresh, and we've never had anything from them that hasn't been delicious. They make a terrific Tom Yum soup, and their Red Curry is great. Our wallets are just not big enough otherwise we'd order triple what we normally order. read more
