    Sweet Rice & Mango

Typical Thai restaurant. Came here after watching the 2025 US open of Surf at Huntington Beach which is about 10min away. It's located in a plaza with plenty nearby parkings. We ordered pineapple fried rice, papaya salad, and tom yum seafood soup. The portions are just right for two. We devoured everything because the flavors were spot on. The shrimps in the papaya salad were well seasoned and the fish fillet in the Tom Yum soup tasted fresh. We could not complete our meal without the mango sweet rice so it made it to our desert choice. The mangoes were ripe and juicy; but (sorry for the but, LOL!) the sticky rice was somewhat hard, we'd like it to be softer with more coconut milk in it. Calm ambient with cute decorations. Our server was very attentive. Not busy on a Saturday afternoon.

Ok instagram is gonna make me gain a ton of weight.!! This place popped up in my feed a while back but I hadn't gotten to the OC in a little bit. Was about to head home when I remembered it. Omg so freaking good!! I ordered the Thai golden dumplings, avocado curry and the massaman curry (to go). The golden dumplings were so delicious and something I've never had before (9/10) must get the avocado curry was even better than it looked in pics so creamy (9/10) ill have to give a review of the other dish tomorrow cuz I'm stuffed!!

Stopped by on the way to work. I ordered the pad Thai and the tofu spring roll. To start, the pad Thai was decent. I'd be lying if I said I haven't had better, but it's definitely decent and worth the price. The spring roll though was honestly one of the best spring rolls I've had. I haven't had a spring roll before that has pineapple in it. It added such a refreshing flavor to it, and the peanut sauce was really good as well. Would overall recommend.

We visited Thai Gulf after our usual Thai spot was closed, and we were in the mood for Tom Kha soup. It was the highest-rated nearby option, and we were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. The Tom Kha was excellent--rich in flavor with shrimp, tomatoes, and mushrooms having absorbed the flavor of the broth. We ordered the pot, which was served in a beautiful silver bowl with a small flame underneath to keep it warm. It was both flavorful and visually appealing. We also ordered the fried chicken with herbs, which was fantastic. The wings were lightly fried with just the right amount of salt and pepper, and topped with crispy basil, garlic, and onions. While the sweet and sour dipping sauce paired well with it. Our server's name was Jayle and she was also very kind and attentive, checking in on us throughout the meal. And giving helpful suggestions when I felt unsure on what else to order. We really appreciated her warm and friendly service.

OMG! Did this restaurant beat my favorite restaurant in LA?! Will I drive to the OC just to eat here, absolutely! That says a lot! The food was so delicious! The server was hilarious! While I was ordering, she said, "Oh! You're hungry!" LOL. Some people might take offense to that, but I found it hilarious! Order everything in the pictures! Suuuuper delicious! The only thing that I had an issue with was that she clearly forgot to put in my curry order so I had to wait a while for that to be made. It eventually came and it was delicious. She blamed it on the kitchen. I think she just forgot cuz she was busy making jokes. LOL Easy plaza parking. The restaurant was clean.

We came here to try the Thai food for dinner. We had the Crab Rangoon to start. I liked them as it tasted like real crab inside. We also had some spicy wontons that weren't on the menu that were delish! Then we had the Pad Thai. All the food was flavorful and spicy! But you can adjust the spice to your liking. The restaurant is casual and lovely with nice decorative touches. The service was friendly and prompt. We had a lovely dinner that ended our night on a lovely flavorful note.

The quality of the food is very good. But every time I get takeout, the containers are half filled. It's so overpriced and you barely get any food.

this review is for my doordash only: (no comments on service and ambiance) i ordered thai gulf over doordash, seeing it was reasonably priced and the pictures looked great. i went for the classic pad thai, mild spice. i liked that the pad thai wasnt too dry despite being takeout. but, i will say the sauce did lack a bit flavor. it was spicy but not sweet or salty, which is usually a note i enjoy in my pad thai. the chicken is plentiful, lots of protein and the peanuts are a nice touch.

It's been years since I last went to Thai Gulf. It seems that it's been through some changes. They used to have condiments on the tables and had a lunch special menu but they don't have them anymore. Their menu is just printed on white paper, which was disappointing. Food is still good though.

If you are looking for delicious thai food in Huntington Beach, you got to check at Thai Gulf. It is located in a beautiful setting and you can feel the ocean breeze. I love their papaya salads with marinated blue crab. The owner made this dish herself and marinated using fresh blue crab. I would day get this and it is the star of the show. You probably have tried Korean marinated crab but thai marinated blue crab is a mush try. It is testers sweet and spicy! It has a hint of fish sauce. Check out the is spot,

The restaurant is in a great location with plenty of parking, making it an easy place to visit. Inside, it was clean, bright, and welcoming. We were seated right away, but unfortunately, the service got off to a slow start. No one came by to take our drink order, and we eventually had to wave someone down to get things moving. Once our server came over, though, everything turned around. Here's what we ordered: - Mango Salad - fresh, flavorful, and I loved that it came with lettuce for extra crunch. - Massaman Curry - on the lighter side than I'm used to, but the curry flavor was absolutely on point. - Pad See Ew - Eggplant - Summer Rolls - Sticky Rice - Lychee Tea - refreshing, delicious, and the perfect drink to pair with the meal. Every dish we ordered was excellent. It's always a great sign when you order several items and every single one delivers. The flavors were authentic, well balanced, and made me wish I had room to order even more. Despite the slow start with the service, the quality of the food more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Orange County. 10/10, highly recommended if you're craving great Thai food!

I came in to pick up my order as soon as toast said it was "likely done". Tofu was soggy, and portion was small. Likewise, the pad see ew was composed of noodles that fell apart upon any attempt to pick them up, the veggies were undercooked, egg pieces were next to nothing, and the flavor was overall lacking. For $35 with tip, I was disappointed by all means. What I ordered was unfortunately mediocre at best - I won't be returning.

That usually is a good sign and indeed it was. We were seated promptly as we had Md called in for reservation's. The tables are small and we placed three together. We were given water immediately plus we ordered Thai teas which were promptly served. The owner was our server and promptly took out individual orders consisting of two shared orders of chicken satay. We ordered seafood tom yum soup plus Pad See Ew, one shrimp Pad Thai, two chicken Pad Thai's, Pineapple fried rice. For each order we were asked what spice lever 1-5 we would like. I ordered my pai at a (12)twelve. I also asked for what for me is Sine qua non, that being nam pla prik which was served ice cold from a refrigerator. The only real criticism I have would be that the main entrees were brought to the table before the soup. The satays were served first and I'd say that the chicken texture was more or less that of a thin processed chicken tender. The satay came with a small bit of cucumber and onion side slobs with a I presume was a peanut sauce. The portions were huge, the amount of shrimp, muscles, fish and what seemed to be scallops was more than adequate and very good. I really enjoyed my chicken Pad Thai but could only finish half , much to my chagrin. My Granddaughter commented favorably about her pins pole fried rice and the eldest of my two Grandson's literally devoured every morsel of his chicken Pad Thai. Of course my other grandson ordered Shrimp pad Thai and gave me his shrimp and stated that he doesn't like shrimp? De gustibus non est disputandum? Go figure! The owners service was great and very attentive. The food was very good with only a slight reservation. We were planning to top off the meal with a shared serving of the traditional Khao Niao Mamuang (Sticky Rice and Mango) but we were all satiated to the MAX! Maybe next time. There are more modern looking restaurants with table cloths and ambiance but the charm of the small intimate eatery wasn't lost at Orange Thai. The family enjoyed the meal and my son and I enjoyed the Father's Day experience at Orange Thai.
