Came for dinner after a movie nearby. Took a booth after being offered to sit where we liked. The service was attentive and we ordered spring rolls, a thai iced coffee, the spicy noodles with soy pepper steak, and the soy orange chicken. We easily ate all the food, so I think the portions are about average (we skipped lunch and were hungry). The noodles were well cooked, but not amazing. I was expecting something more along the flavor profile of drunken noodles; this was simpler. The soy pepper steak was good but not that abundant. The orange soy chicken was phenomenal. Easily the best fake meat I've had in Albuquerque. Super crispy and great texture overall. The sauce was very sweet but I liked it anyway. A table near us had ordered the same dish and their portion seemed much larger; my partner suggested that perhaps they had gotten the real chicken version. The entire orange chicken entree had about 8 pieces, and no broccoli or other veggies. I get that prices had gone up but would have appreciated something besides the rice and lettuce for those 8 pieces, when the dish costs $14. Overall, I would go back for the excellent fake meat (worth a star on its own), but it is on the expensive side for what you get and so it won't be a regular stop. read more

I haven't been here in a while.. Wasn't even sure it was the same place!! It had a different look about it! Lots of Asian decor which made the place interesting. Three of us came for lunch! It wasn't crowed although a few people trickled in and out the entire time we were there. The woman who greeted us and served us I rated as A+ . Her manner, attention to detail and willingness to explain the items we wanted more information about was exemplary! We all ordered a different dish! I got the yellow curry lunch combo which came with salad, rice, and spring rolls and a delicious bowl of vegetable curry. Another person ordered the veggie dumplings and the red curry they were pleased with every bite! Our third party member ordered the stir fried vegetable lunch with tofu! I've never had bad Thai food before. This was the first. The takeout container of rice was half empty. The Tofu red curry had only a few pieces of tofu. The dumplings were tiny. They were so stingy with everything that it felt dystopian. The quality was less than mediocre... especially for the price. I love Thai food, but this place absolutely sucked. Never again. One last thing. A lot of businesses place a 'test charge' on your account to make sure the payment doesn't bounce. This place has a really expensive test charge, over $20. Usually a business just charges a dollar. This might have been due to Doordash, but I have never seen such an expensive test charge before. Be careful when ordering from this joint. read more

My boyfriend had the spicy fried rice with chicken and beef added. He even got it level 5 spicy but was still not hot enough for him but he did enjoy it. I had the pad thai dinner added chicken. It also came with a salad and two egg rolls I loved all of it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a filling meal. Absolutely delicious vegan Thai food, with legitimately "Thai spicy" options for the adventurous. We ordered takeout from here for dinner one evening using their online ordering system. We requested everything "Thai spicy", and that did the trick to get things as spicy as we like it. We got: -Pumpkin curry with soy pepper steak ($11.95). This was the crown jewel of our order: savoury, rich, complex, decadent, and pants-shittingly spicy curry, with succulent pieces of squash, fresh veggies and "steak". Damn, this was amazing. 5/5 -Spicy noodles with soy chicken ($11.95). Maybe the least amazing dish of the order, as the noodles were not quite as good as the top pad see ew's out there, but this was super tasty nonetheless and amply spicy. 4.5/5 -American broccoli with tofu ($11.95). As good as a mixed veg dish can be -- lots of broccoli, carrot, onion and tofu, sauced with a beautiful garlicy soy sauce, and garnished with basil. I ordered twice from here during my stay in Albuquerque. The first night I had Shrimp Pasta delivered to the hotel room. Once I was face down in that food, I didn't come up. The food was good. Not great , but good. The service however was anything but. My dinner came with chicken. Really or soy. I ordered real. It came out and looked good but there was no chicken in it. No big deal. I told the server who was the only one working there and she looked at my plate and said she would have my chicken brought out. I went to try this place out with one of my vegetarian friends since we were curious about vegan-style food. This place really does an earnest job at taking Thai food, turning it vegan, and presenting it nicely. With the various substitutions used, there are some textural and flavor differences that will come across, but knowing that it is void of animal products is really impressive. I ended up getting the Pad Thai and found it to be a tad too sweet and the consistency a bit too condensed, but overall pretty true to what was expected. It came with a little side salad and two egg rolls which were a nice complement to the dish that helped to break it up texturally. Lastly, as far as service goes, I had to dock it down a bit because of the wait to get service. It took a surprising amount of time to get some more water and our bill even though it was not terribly busy. Returned as my first eating stop on landing in Albuquerque. The food remains excellent, and the service and cooking are exceptional. The Salmon teriyaki bowl was enough for two, and the vegetable fried dumplings and iced coconut Thai coffee were outstanding. This is in my top five restaurants of all time. Right up there with the Inn at Little Washington and the Russian Tea House in NYC. If you haven't tried this (especially on a regular week night) you are doing yourself a disservice. But you come here for the food, not the ambience- although there is nothing really wrong with that either. Am even getting a vegan beef fresh ginger to go for lunch tomorrow. My heart is broken. I loved Thai Vegan chicken nuggets even before I became vegan. I recently ordered some pad Thai with 'fake meat' chicken nuggets via Grubhub. I know what Impossible Chicken Nuggets look and taste like - and, that's just what I got. I had Impossible nuggets in my freezer - no need to have any delivered. Is it under new ownership? I'm learning that having Vegan in a business name does not automatically denote attention to quality or thoughtfulness, sadly. I'll start by saying that the eggplant and soy chicken in my P.E.T. lunch special were well cooked with nice texture. Nice work, team! Unfortunately, that's where the good ends in my one take-out experience. I'm not a hater, I promise, but in service to my wider Albuquerque community I feel it only fair... nay, only my responsibility, to offer an honest review of my dining experience, so as to save you your precious time and hard-earned money. Ready? Ok! The dish overall was so salty I could barely continue eating after 2 bites, which I only did because I was super hungry and didn't want to spend another $12 somewhere else. Luckily, there's this stuff called water that helps with that, especially when chugged between every bite. The pumpkin, the P of the P.E.T. dish, was dry and undercooked, almost chalky. Boo. I mean, it's in the name of the dish! You'd think they'd make sure it was a worthy namesake. Sad face, since I usually love pumpkin dishes. 'But, wait, good sir! Don't eat pumpkin if it's not in season!' you might say. Fair, but to which I would respond, 'Let's also stop putting out-of-season items on our menus.' It takes a village, amiright? And a fair does of hypocrisy, you're welcome. Humorously, the small bit of salad that came with my Thai lunch special was served with an Italian style vinaigrette. 'Well, fare chap, what dressing would you have them include?' you might demand. To which I would lovingly reply, 'I don't know, I'm not a Thai chef, they are. But I def know I don't want Italian flavors clashing with my Asian flavors.' To which you might reply with a non-zero amount of disdain, 'Well that makes you a bougie elitist!' And I would quietly mutter in response, 'Um... ok.' But also... pretty sure it doesn't. And most bizarrely of all, the rice was super dry. The rice! It seems that for a restaurant which includes rice on a large majority of it's dishes, you would at least have nice rice. Especially during lunch hour. Just me? Cool cool cool. In the end, props for committing to a vegan menu, Thai Heritage and Vegan. I wish more places would hop on that train, since wider spread vegan-ism, or at least vegetarian-ism, will be a necessary part of our response to the climate and food security crises that currently threaten civilization as we know it. The food here is outstanding. Great flavors, nice heat and it tastes fresh and delicious. However, perhaps they've fallen on tough times, but as their prices continue to rise, their portions seem to be getting smaller. Today I paid $12 for a less-than-half-full container of Chu Chee. When I called to explain they sent me a half empty container, they insisted that it was the normal portion, just in a too-large container. As if I've never ordered from there before. I'm not saying it always goes to the tippy top, but this is a significantly less portion size than it was a couple months ago when I noticed the prices had gone up by almost 50% I would give one star, but the taste is delicious. Very happy to have come across another vegan spot. This restaurant came through and showed out everything ordered was made and brought out correctly. I'm always excited about finding new vegan/vegetarian spots on the road, it's hard out here living that trucker life and trying to eat right. Anywho the grilled dumplings, Veggie rolls, tempera, pad tahi and jungle noodles were all very tasty. SHRIMP SPINACH NOODLE - Steaming hot and delicious even after being delivered. Organic spinach noodle in green curry sauce with soy shrimp, salsa, red cabbage, carrot, and cilantro. PRO TIP - Received a generous portion. Ate half while hot at lunch, then had the rest cold at dinner. Ordered through DoorDash. Ordered the vegetable stirfry a la Carte. Added tofu. The tofu tasted kinda like dry skin. The vegetables were fine - came in a watery soupy liquid that sunk to the bottom. The rice was okay but the vegetables were fine - just tasted like a little sugar was added and that was all the seasoning I could make out. I love love this place!! They have amazing vegan food. They have sadly now added meat to the menu and renamed it Thai Heritage but i much prefer this situation over it simply closing down. It still continues to have its amazing vegan options it's always had. You can also get USA style food options but I always go for the Thai food. The green curry is one of my favorites as well as the "seafood" soup. (Soy seafood) it's made with so much flavor and good portions. It's so fun to have so many soy imitation seafood and meat options as well as basic tofu or just vegetables. The atmosphere is nice but good for casual dress. I've been here several times alone and don't feel awkward. All and all a bit pricey but totally worth it. I highly recommend! read more

We got alot of food for the price with their delicious lunch combo that includes heart shaped rice, salad, and spring rolls in addition to the entree- food is better when it's heart shaped. You can taste the love in the pumpkin curry, one of the menu variations that sets this locations menu apart from the Osuna location's. Another difference from the Osuna Thai Vegan, other than the owners, is that this place has non-vegan options. You can get chicken, steak, and fish in addition to all the tofu counterparts. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and was eager to make suggestions. I enjoyed the spring rolls as a starter- they have fresh basil and tofu filling. After a long day hiking at the Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert (and driving back to Albuquerque) we just didn't feel like cooking. So we ordered delivery from Thai Vegan. I'm not a vegan myself though I am willing to eat vegan food with family and friends who are. All too often I am disappointed with the taste, texture and quality of vegan food -- especially when it tries to be something that it isn't (such as cheese, hot dogs, bacon, etc.). But much to my delight I found that Thai cuisine is eminently suited to vegan preparations without sacrificing the unique tastes of classic Thai food. I ordered a dinner combination including Green Curry (with soy "pepper steak"), brown rice, a salad and fried spring rolls. The curry was excellent and the ersatz steak provided texture and substance without actually trying to mimic slices of beef. The overall flavor profile was excellent -- authentically Thai with just the right amount of heat. The salad was nothing more than some leafy greens, a cucumber and a tomato, but the dressing provided a much needed Asian tanginess. The small thumb sized spring rolls were tasty morsels, especially when dipped in the sauce provided. We also ordered Tom Ka Kai soup -- an excellent mix of veggies in a coconut milk broth. Because my family in Albuquerque is vegan, I know we'll be ordering from Thai Vegan again and I'm looking forward to trying many of their other menu offerings. read more
