Thai food is my favorite food. Living in San Antonio its hard to find a place that does Thai right. I wanted to celebrate and not cook but due to Covid19 that makes celebrating limited. I called and they took my order over the phone. They have a great set up for this situation. You call or order online then when you get there you can call them. They encourage you to stay in your car since its so hot outside. They give you an ETA on when your food will be placed on a shelf near the door. You open the door and grab your food. I was very surprised when I ate here! I had tried to go to Susie's Lumpia House down the street but they were doing carryout only. Even though I thought this place was closed it wasn't, and I'm glad it wasn't! The inside is very clean and pretty! Their sodas are canned, not fountain and they gave me, without me ordering, hot and sour soup which was very good. I ordered the Chicken Pad That at a Level 1 (mild). Glad I did that because it was the right amount of spice level. The Pad Thai was delicious! It wasn't dry like some places. Although my only complaint would be they could try and make sure there's a good amount of chicken in the dish they serve. The serving size was very good too. I will definitely be back! read more

Love this place. We've been coming here a lot more with covid recently, so we have tried most of the menu. Everything we have had has been delicious! The pad woon sen and pad thai are my go-to's and they are both really good from here. Good portion sizes too, we usually have enough leftovers for lunch the next day. This place is AMAZING. The menu is the best I've ever seen, very well put together, everything is pretty clear. A lot of different options for drinks. The food had so much flavor! I had the basil stir fry, my husband ordered the Yum Woon Sen with Coconut boba tea and my sister ordered Tum Khai soup, Pad Thai and thai tea. Everyone loved what they had. This place is lackluster. My family was in the mood for Thai and so, it being later in the evening, say 8 PM, settled on a place closest to where we were driving through. Upon walking in, the restaurant was oddly lit with numerous wobbly ceiling fans and -- perhaps to class the atmosphere up a bit -- nightlights plugged into high-positioned outlets, acting as faux miniature wall sconces. (Also, let's not forget the aquarium with its flickering lightbulb!) To top things off, instead of utilizing their wall-mounted TV for something useful (e.g. Game 6 of the NBA Finals, etc.), they found it fitting to blast piano-laden, karaoke-quality classical music through its speakers. Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' is always beautiful, except when played dizzyingly fast via some automated keyboard robot. Fcuk. Nearly half of the dining booths still had dirty tableware -- and each of the four small tables appeared off-balance -- so we were placed at the booth directly beneath the Beethoven TV. So fun. Much music. Wow. [Catching the sarcasm?] Fortunately everything improved, more or less, moving forward... Service was friendly, accommodating, quick. The menu was straightforward; prices agreeable. The food itself, not a hit by any stretch of the imagination, was thus a miss... presentation, overall taste/quality, temperature... all barely acceptable at best. Lackluster is the most appropriate word. Ultimately, I would pass on this place in the future. Take 5-15 extra minutes and drive out to either Yum Thai in Alamo Ranch, Thai Lao Orchid near the Medical Center, or Savor Fare on Huebner/Eckhert. You'll thank me later. read more

I normally order tofu pad thai and come during lunch hour since it is so close to my work place. The plates are served at good portions, the pad thai sauce is bursting with flavors. Great family owned joint. I've been here about 5-6 times and have tried a variety of dishes. I will say though my favorite thing to do is come and order a few appetizers are dinner. Their hot and sour soup always hits the spot for me. It's not only sour but also has a spicy kick to it. It's so addicting. One my first visits I tried the summer rolls and fell in love, those are one of my favorite appetizers. Sadly after the first time, each time I've ordered them after have fallen short. They are fresh but there is no mint/cilantro which is KEY to tying all the flavors together. I've ordered them 3 times just to make sure it wasn't just a flaw and they were out of that ingredient. This was over a four month period. This place has gotten me hooked on insan (thai sausage) the meaty, sour flavor with rice has me addicted. I always order that along with my hot and sour soup regardless of whatever else I choose to try. Those are my most recommended dishes. Some pretty good Thai right here! Visiting SA for a week and we felt up to some Thai. This place had good reviews and based on that we skipped the couple that were open and waited for them to start dinner. Ordered to go and very pleased. Pad See Ewe - beef, hot, Jungle Curry - chicken, a level hotter than what it currently is, satay and spring rolls. Man, they know not to make some spicy food here. We find sooooo many places dumb it down and we always get the insulting "you sure you want so hot?!" Like, yes we have set aside a few hours to deal with stomach ulcers, please make it as hot as possible. Anyhow, very good. Hot was nice and toasty and my husband's jungle curry was super tasty and then he was sick in the hotel parking lot because his stomach was aflame. Don't let that sound bad! It is but we asked for it, lol. Satay was just right and springs rolls good. Overall, no complaints. We are only on a vaca otherwise we'd be sure to visit Thai Hot again. The service was spectacular. There was only one lady greeting customers, working the register and waiting tables. She was very fast and super sweet. I ordered the springrolls for an appetizer, they weren't any different from any other Thai spot, but I liked the presentation. I also ordered the Tom Kha Ga Soup and the lemon to coconut milk ratio was off, but the mushrooms and chicken were plentiful. It was good, not great, but I would consider trying it again because it's my favorite. I also ordered the beef with eggplant and white rice. I asked for spicy #2 but I think she heard me wrong because it tastes like #10 ... Unbearably HOT! The flavor was really good but I refuse to cry tears of hotness while I eat. Instead of sending it back I boxed it up to give to my mom who loves super spicy food. I just nibbled off my daughters plate and ate most of her Pad Thai. I stopped by this location to get a chicken Pad Thai to go and boy was it tasty and unbelievably filling. First of all I want to mention that I ordered extra noodles (not knowing what to expect) and it was a $2 up charge. No big deal. The food was very tasty and I couldn't manage to finish it. This bad boy was as full as can be. The quality and taste of this Pad Thai is subpar given the number of Thai restaurants I've visited. Other places tend to have their sauce too sweet or there is too much fish sauce leaving behind a fishy taste which is rather distasteful (in my opinion) There is a perfect equilibrium with the food and it's taste. I highly recommend stopping by this place if you're in the neighborhood and are wanting some good Thai food. read more

Great food at a reasonable price. Sure, the location isn't in a gated community or near a Starbucks, but it isn't like the last 10 minutes of Gangs of New York, either. Lots of parking. The service is great too. One time I called them on July 4th, it rang a few times before a woman picked up. She said they were closed but she would be happy to make me something. After a few "Are you sures?" I ordered fried tofu with green beans and spicy bean sauce. It was perfect. Just the right amount of heat, and tofu that is a little crispy on the outside, but not dry on the inside. I've had this dish many times at different places. Theirs is perfect! Since then I've had their crispy noodle, drunken noodle, and curry dishes with tofu. I liked them all. I tried the crispy noodle today with soft tofu. Since it was a to-go order, they packaged the crispy noodles and broth/veggies separately. She even asked me if I'd had it before. When I said I hadn't she explained how to prepare it. Nice touch! It was good, but seemed to be missing something. I found some chili paste in with the order. I added that (which I normally don't do) and was surprised at how amazing it made the soup taste. Give this place a shot - finding a great Thai place in this town is tough and this place delivers. read more

It was also very reasonably priced. I think my girlfriend and I have found our new Thai restaurant. I had the pineapple fried rice, that was delicious. My girlfriend had the tom yum gai and she was quite satisfied. My food was a little spicier than expected but it wasn't much of a concern. I ordered a 4 which I thought might be mediumly spicy but it had a bit more of a kick to it. That would be my only word of caution for this place but other than that it is great! read more
