WARNING! THIS IS A LONG REVIEW!! have been a frequent, enthusiastic, happily addicted, and grateful customer for at least 10 years now. This is the thai food in which I compare ALL Thai food and no matter where in the world I have been, there has yet to be a Thai restaurant who can live up to the love I have for Thai House!!!!! The restaurant is very small but look past there not being a greeter at the door or it sometimes being packed at lunchtime. You will get quality, great tasting, and fresh food. I will review several of the many dishes I have tried over the years in order to help someone who may be visiting for the first time. If you go at lunch time you will get a one Poph Pia (fried spring roll) with sweet and sour sauce and a bowl of Tom Yum Gai (a lemongrass soup with chicken and mushrooms). They are both great although I often forgo the fried spring roll and order an appetizer of Poh Pia Sod (the fresh spring rolls) they are delicious and have just the right balance of vegetables, meat, and rice noodles. I order my fresh spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce instead of the brown sauce that it comes with but that is just a personal preference. If we go on the weekend or during dinner hours we also like to have the Thai House salad with boiled shrimp and a mix of romaine lettuce and cabbage after our fresh spring rolls. The salad is always fresh, the shrimp are a good size, and the homemade dressing is what makes this salad so phenomenal! The chicken Sa-Tay is also very good as is the cucumber salad it is served with. The Tom Hka Gai and Tom Yum Gai are both delicious soups. I like to order the Tom Hka Gai medium spicy to counter the sweetness of the coconut milk, and I also like to add some of the white rice to the soup if I am eating it as my main course to make it a bit more hardy. Two great stir-fry's with a light brown sauce (not heavy at all) that we order frequently with chicken is Top Corn Chicken (chicken, mushrooms, onions, baby corn) and Pad Roum Mid (Chicken and fresh veggies like carrots, zucchini, peppers, onions, mushrooms etc... in a light sauce). These are great starters for someone you may bring along to eat Thai who has never tried it. The Mus-sa-mun is good but we are crazy about the CHICKEN CURRY!!! It is full of chicken, potatoes, carrots, and onion in a mild curry sauce with coconut milk. Served atop the rice and you are almost guaranteed to fall in love! Pad Thai is great, Pad-Ce-Eew is good as are the drunken noodles. They do not automatically spice their thai dishes to hot so please specify if you prefer your dishes medium, hot, or Thai hot! I also enjoy the green and red curries as well! The house fried rice with chicken is a favorite of a few of our friends. It is very good and if we order it I will have a bite or two but I am usually craving other dishes more than the rice! The entree called Thai House Special is also very good. It is a little bit thicker sauce but it is also one of our frequent orders. The Thai Tea is out of this world too! Give this place a try! I hope you can find enjoyment in the effort put forth to bring this ethic cuisine to the table using the fresh ingredients and made to order freshness that in my opinion make the Thai House stand out! Pineapple curry #59 (chicken in a curry sauce with pineapple chunks) is a must-try! Actually, everything I've tried from this local restaurant is delicious. My husband likes their drunken noodles and pad Thai, I've tried quite a few of their curries and they're all creamy and delicious. The inside is your typical Thai restaurant look--nothing special and located in a strip mall. But the food is amazing and piping hot/fresh. So glad this yummy option exists for my Thai cravings. read more

Very courteous staff, and clean restaurant. Excellent curry, I recommend the massamun (I think I spelled it right). A little pricy in comparison to other Thai restaurants I've visited but the portion and taste were worth it. Will return soon! read more

Very unassuming strip mall location...relatively non-descript interior. Servers were extremely pleasant and attentive without being annoying. Food came out in a timely manner and was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Appetizer, entree drink and tip (20%) was about $25. I hope I am in the area again I would certainly go back. Best Thai food I have had in a very long time. Five stars, all day every day. IMHO this is one of Columbus's most obscure secrets. It's a little hole in the wall nestled in between a flower shop and a smoke shop. So why so many stars? Delicious food and outstanding, friendly service. It doesn't matter what time of day, nor does it matter if it's dine in or carry out, the wait staff is ALWAYS polite and accommodating and sound genuinely happy to be the interface between the amazing food that comes out of the kitchen and my table. YUM! My new favorite Thai restaurant in the area! Fried spring rolls were delicious and the sauce that came with them was addicting. My daughter and I shared the drunken noodles and the panang curry both dishes were so flavorful! We got both dishes medium spicy, it was perfect! Just spicy enough. it took a couple of mins for someone to seat us, but no one greeted us at the door even though they watched us walk in. They saw me carrying an infant and didn't even offer us a high chair, I had to get it myself. aside from the first impression, I proceeded to ordering my lunch. my husband and I ordered the Thai iced tea the chicken larb for an appetizer. both were pretty good. my husband ordered some beef dish with red curry and I ordered the pad see ew. my husband didn't care too much about his dish and mine was a little bit too salty. I thought the service was pretty slow even though the place wasn't packed. Our food did come out piping hot though. I might try it out again, but I'll go to the other Thai place not too far from this one. read more

I love thai house. Hands down, the best that flavor in Columbus. I love the other Thai places because I love Thai food, but if you make your own Thai food (or have ever lived where they make great Thai food) then you'll be able to tell the difference, for sure. The tea is on point, the curry is exquisite, and that soup? Tom Kha Gai? Forget it - I'm in love. So if you don't mind driving all the way over to Airport Thruway and Whitesville, enjoy it. All right people here is the scoop interior needs some work but overall it is clean but if you are looking for a fancy place this is not your spot. Staff is very friendly, like the authentic music playing in the background. Now let's get to the food I ordered the Phai Thai and Fancy Fried rice something just some spice is missing on these dishes it was lacking flavor not very impressed with the flavors. Dishes did come out quick and hot which is always a plus. It's a good place to try out but I don't see their food being five stars because of the lack of flavor on these dishes......oh wait a minute just got desert the coconut pudding rice is amazing, fresh coconut and sugar cane combination not to sweet and it come warm mmm now the desert is five stars. read more

A very charming restaurant with solid food and service. We ordered the pad see ew, Tom yum, and the house fried rice. We waited quite a while for the food to come out, the restaurant was pretty busy, and we were told that the restaurant only has one chef--not that it's a bad thing--just something to watch out for! The portions were huge, especially for the soup. The quality of the food was 4/5. I really enjoyed the soup, but dressed it up when I had it for leftovers the next day with cilantro and green onions. The friend rice and noodles were tasty and served with plenty of meat but needed more veggies to balance it out. We also found that a little too much soy sauce was used for those dishes. For the price in relation to the quality, this place is definitely worth trying! I'd love to go back to try the specials, they looked delicious. read more

Started eating here consistently for lunch last year and it quickly became a staple for my coworkers and I. The lunch service is usually pretty quick and the food always comes out fresh. They offer a picture menu to help you make a decision on dishes you may be unfamiliar with. It is an itsy-bitsy place, but is packed full of great dishes. We have gone on both a weekday and a weekend, and the wait is never long. Once, we went in on a Saturday night, and the handful of tables were full, however we only had to wait a few minutes. The server said the kitchen was running a bit behind, and suggested an appetizer (the satay skewers- half pork, and half beef- was what he suggested). They were delicious. However, the entrees actually didn't take that long either. I have always gotten the drunken noodles, and they are the best. My boyfriend has tried another noodle dish (I can't remember the name) and the curry. He has liked both dishes. The only note I will make about the dishes though, the medium is spicy. Usually, I am all about the spiciness, however it made my entire body red, sweaty, and crying. My boyfriend isn't huge on spiciness and got the mild, and said they were a little too spicy. The next time we went, he got the normal and I got the mild, and we were much happier. The first time we went, my boyfriend got some type of drink with coconut milk in it. I don't like coconut milk, so it wasn't my taste, but it also wasn't terrible. He liked it, but said it wouldn't be something he would want to order again. (NOTE: I am probably messing up the order of the spicy levels) It seemed quite authentic, but I have never been to Thailand to actually confirm the authenticity. The waitstaff is always nice, the first time I think we got a Thai woman and the next time we got a black man. I don't remember their names, but they were both so nice. P.S. Went there a few times and had Pho and it was great! The last time I went it was in the 40's outside and the restaurant had the AC in full blast. I was freezing the whole time I was there. I did ask the server to turn down the AC and she did, but if it's cold outside the AC should not be on anyways. Other patrons expressed being cold as well after I asked the server to turn down the AC. The only item I've had is the Pho. I have not tried anything else on the menu. They have great Pho. I just don't think that I'll come back if the AC continues to be on while is cold outside. I had my two layer coat on the whole time I was there. Otherwise, great food! read more

It doesn't look like theres alot to this restaurant but we sat our self down and they came right away to take our drink order and gave us a menu. I absolutely loved that it came with a book to look at different meals. I got the chicken pad Thai i loved it! Not to spicy but enough where it adds the perfect flavor. This is one of my family's favorites go-to restaurants. The food is always great and we have tried pretty much everything on the menu! :) For the curry, I recommend going extra hot if you like spice, because the coconut milk makes it not as hot, but OMG! the flavors are complex and exquisite. The service - awesome! Friendly, courteous, never rushed! Caution - this isn't a fast food place and it is small, so not a place to come if you are in a hurry. But they do a big to-go business. Only wish - would like if they offered beer and wine. A nice wine would really complement their fresh and well seasoned food. I've been here twice and I guess you can say I like it. I've been exploring the Asian cuisine lately (past 3yrs) and this place is pretty good. Service is slow but the food is tasteful. The location has plenty of parking. If you come here for lunch, you better have some time on your hands because it's going to take a while. Food is made fresh which is why it takes time. Tiny, tiny restaurant, but it's quaint. The atmosphere is probably the best thing about this restaurant. Either way, they stay busy for such a small place. The husband ordered some chicken dish in a clear herb flavored broth, I can't remember what it was called and I had drunken noodles with pork- I ordered it mild and it was HOT. I don't doubt for a minute that they made me a mild version of it. The fact that I was able to eat it is probably a pretty good indication that it was technically "mild". It may sound like I'm complaining; I'm not. The best way to describe the meal is clean. The flavors are crisp and distinct and the dishes were very well prepared. Thai House is a cute, intimate setting once you get inside from the typical Columbus strip mall where it's located. Their lunch special is a great deal for $7.95. It came with an egg roll and a bowl of soup that had a TON of chicken in it. Seriously, it was chunks of chicken in a bowl with broth poured over it. The red curry chicken was a rather large sized lunch portion, too, so fairly certain I ate an entire chicken in one sitting. And major props for not taming the spiciness I requested because I'm white. Surprisingly good Thai food. We had a somewhat rambunctious group and they were really patient with us. Even separate checks! In their pad see ew (stir-fried large flat rice noodles seasoned with soy sauce) they had napa and brocolli plus meat, which was great. THIS is the best Thai place in Columbus. My family and I are regulars, and the servers are always kind and friendly. It is a cozy nook, the food is authentic and delicious and the service is extremely genuine. It is nice to have a thai restaurant in town that isn't so americanized, and it has that super warm small local business feeling. Pad Curry is my favorite dish, and they never mind adding in or taking away certain ingredients i don't like. You can't NOT leave an awesome tip, because every aspect of this place is spectacular. Very tasty and spicy. My favorite is the drunken noodles. They have a pretty good vegetarian selection and you can get them to make any of the curries with tofu instead of meat. For some reason it never tastes as good when I do carry-out though. read more

This may be my favorite restaurant? The food was exquisite, the flavors complex. The Tom Yum Soup was to die for, and in swimming pool level quantities. The Green Curry was perfect, and in a surprise move, the medium was actually too hot for me, but was still absolutely amazing. Usually in Columbus, and in a lot of restaurants generally, the chefs will tone down spices for a wider audience, erring on the side of bland rather than spicy, but not here. The flavors just explode out of the sauce. The service, fwiw, was also great, and the owner is a very nice and attentive person. A small touch that I don't usually expect from most family-owned restaurants is their soda fountain, which i inexplicably find important compared to canned drinks? Seriously, this restaurant is really really solid, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Please do yourself a favor and have dinner here. read more
