It's been awhile since I have ordered from here and I did recommend this restaurant to many of my friends who enjoy spicy food. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. I know they're short staff and I know I may have ordered at an odd time (9:30-10ish PM on a weekend) but I'm just disappointed in taste. Forget the price, forget they're short staff, forget the mom and pop interior design... let's just focus on the food quality. Basil fried rice lacked in basil flavor. It's one of the worst basil fried rice I had in an extremely long time. Roti by itself and no soup on the side? This is the only restaurant that does this with no cup of soup. I wasn't expecting a lot but give me something. Otherwise, what's the point of ordering it if I didn't order any curry dishes? Now, my biggest disappointment... chicken pad Thai. Lacked in flavor and had a weird aftertaste. Maybe I didn't noticed it before since it was much spicier. Lacked in spice. Not sure if I will be back. On the bright side, it was simple to just order on the Yelp app and got my food on time.

This cozy, unassuming restaurant in a strip mall serves amazing Thai food. The staff is kind and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable, with generous portions and great lunch specials. Pad Kee Mao is flavorful with a distinct wok aroma, the curries have perfect consistency and taste, and the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are warm and comforting.

everything was perfect, the ambience and vibe was surprisingly chill, Pen's service (if I spelled her name right) was amazing, and the food was definitely very good. the setting, the food and the service is definitely very good for night time meal type setting

Excellent food! Cozy place! Warm and friendly host! We had the larb, massaman curry, pad prik king and tiger cry! All excellent at spice level number 3! Well balanced flavor!

Great service and great food. I'm a consistent fan of this restaurant and will continue to come here!

Back again! Food is still great! This time i have pics! I got the pad ke mao with pork and my husband got the pad ke mao with shrimp again. My son got the orange chicken; not my favorite, but both he and my husband liked the crisp and the different sauce! The crispy spring rolls were excellent as usual, and we tried the Thai chicken wings tonight. Wonderfully crisp, hot and juicy, with delicious seasoning and a little bit of tang at the end. Satisfied once again!

I've been coming to Thai Lily for more 10 years. Even though we have moved far away, we still stop by a few times a year to have our favorite Thai food. The staff (Pen & BJ) have watched my son grow from a child to an adult. We love coming here and the food is always amazing!!! Now they have gluten free options for those with dietary restrictions. My mom's favorites are panang curry and Thai omelet. My son's favorites are shrimp in a blanket and cheese rolls. My favorites are papaya salad, fried pompano and pad thai.

We are just visiting the Houston area and happened to be by Thai Lily Cafe. My wife, son, and I decided to grab some food. We were greeted and seated immediately. Despite the signs apologizing for short staff and possible slow service, we did not experience a long wait at all. We received our drinks and food in a reasonable amount of time. My wife got the yellow curry, my son some chicken fried rice, and I had some chicken Pad Thai. All came out looking fresh and delicious! The food was great, service was nice, and the sweet jazz music and dim lights made my son feel fancy!

I was randomly craving some Thai food today so I googled the closet place to be with decent reviews. I was greeted my a lady who I presume to be the owner and she was so sweet. The establishment was very quaint and tidy and there wasn't very many people so you can sit wherever (although I got my food to go) I ordered a combination pad Thai ( chicken, pork and beef) and one chicken egg roll. My pad Thai was level 2 spicy (on their scale of 1-5). I didn't find it spicy at all. I appreciate that the food was hot and fresh but I have to be completely honest, my pad Thai had absolutely no flavor. Like none. When I got home, I legit had to add more salt, chili pepper, seasoning and soy sauce to it to enjoy it. Also my noodles at the bottom of the plate was a bit stuck together. I guess my craving was satisfied enough after I spiced it up a bit.

    The restaurant itself.

This place is awesome. The table has a button that allows you to call a waiter to your table! The food came out super quickly and tasted AMAZING. The yellow curry is soooo good. We plan on coming back! We were helped by a kind lady and a man named David, excellent service. Any questions we had about the menu, they helped us :) The atmosphere feels like I am at someone's home eating mom's cooking all over again!

We had to order take out on a Friday night because it was 10 mins before closing (9pm on Fridays) and they processed the order incredibly fast. All tables were full when we picked up so I'm sure busy nights will be a bit of a wait to get in. We asked for "medium" spice but the receipt had been defaulted to "mild" thank god. It was still a decent amount of spice and any more I would have probably been sweating like crazy. So I would recommend starting off with mild and go from there unless you are a glutton for punishing spice. Their mild seems to be more like medium / hot at an Americanized Thai joint. Pad Kee Mow with chopped chicken was delicious. Fresh crunchy green beans and bell peppers, onions and tomatoes perfectly cooked with the perfect spicy basil sauce. Noodles all had sauce on them. Large serving size and great price. We also got papaya salad which was just right and nice spice. I wish I could come here often and try everything else on the menu.

Khao soi gai: 7/10 This was so flavorful and delicious but definitely should have opted for the chicken instead of the soft shell crab I wasn't really a fan of the crab. Love the flavors and textures though. Definitely want to try with chicken and I recommend getting some rice on the side. Pad mama: 9/10 This had a really yummy vibrant flavor with a good amount of protein and leafy greens. Could be spicier I think the just gave us a random spice level. Overall really yummy and good portion for the prices but would love to retry with more spice in the dishes.

The service was fast and excellent, and I appreciated how attuned they were to my dietary restrictions. My only concern was the parking, which was difficult. However, a worker informed us that they have opened up a second lot for the weekend traffic, which is useful information. We ordered the drunken noodles vegan with tofu and red curry vegan. Both were hot, which is one level down from spicy. I personally did not find the food spicy and would consider leveling up next time. The noodles were perfectly soft, there was a good amount of tofu that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The flavor was fantastic, and I liked how the dish was not too greasy, which is a problem I have run into at other establishments. The red curry was probably my favorite of the two dishes. It was warm, comforting, and tangy with the perfect blend of flavors. I was tempted to lick the bowl! We attempted to order roti ice cream for dessert, however there was miscommunication that led to just receiving vanilla ice cream. It was soft and creamy, but nothing special.

It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try again and will highly recommend this place.

As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! It could easily reach that level. Our waitress, Ann, was incredibly kind, soft spoken, and welcoming. My friend Sherita suggested this restaurant after we left a Yelp office hour, and I'm so glad she did because it introduced me to something I never knew I needed: the salmon mango fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. I originally planned to take some home for my son to try, but it was so delicious that I finished every bite in one sitting. Sherita had visited earlier in the week and tonight shared that she arrived; right before I walked in which was 30 minutes before closing time, Jackie told her to hurry up and order, even though she already knew exactly what she wanted and didn't even need a menu. Jackie response was unprofessional and didn't even wait till the table guest got to the table, which was less than seconds since we all arrive at the same time, and left the same place. During our visit, Jackie never brought us water. A couple who was seated after us received water before we did. It took over 10 minutes for us to get water. Ann took great care of us, but anytime we wanted a refill, we had to ask. At one point my glass was completely empty. I noticed Jackie refilling the water glasses for a table of six, so I managed to get his attention. He looked directly at me, scanned the room, then stomped away all fast without acknowledging my request. Instead, he told Ann that we wanted water, and she graciously brought it over. Even at the end of our meal, Jackie stood behind the register while my friends waited to pay, yet another employee ended up taking their payment. His overall energy felt very cold and unwelcoming. My friend even joked that it was probably for the best that he didn't refill my water because of the energy he was carrying. As someone who believes water absorbs energy, I honestly agreed. I'm grateful Ann was the one who served us with such kindness. The restaurant itself has such a peaceful, zen atmosphere. The greenery outside and the warm lighting inside create a cozy neighborhood spot that I truly want to love and revisit with my son. Thank you , Sherita for introducing me and Aaliyah to this hidden gem. I completely understand why you visited twice in one week. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and hopefully next time the hospitality matches the quality of the food.
