Some friends told me about this place. I went for lunch and have some legit basil beef for only $6.99. The lunch special comes with rice and choice of an egg roll or soup. I usually get the curry coconut chicken soup. The basil beef is delicious, tender, and little spicy if you like spice. Today I also tried the mixed veggie with beef (Thai hot). It was okay...I'll stick to the basil beef! The lady at the front that takes the orders is really nice and they get pretty busy for lunch. No matter how busy they are the food always comes out piping hot and fast. I never dine in, so I can't speak on the service. It's located in a plaza with shared parking. The average food turn around time was super quick like 10-12mins despite lots of to-go orders. Every dish was unique and above the standard as well as the friendly customer service 1. Pad Thai 5/5 : it seems to be one of the most authentic Pad Thais I ever had. It wasn't too sweet; instead, the texture is semi-creamy and the taste is well-balanced. 2. Chicken coconut soup (5/5): if you can tolerate the coconut taste and smell. This soup is for you. The soup is sour, creamy, and flavorful ( not as rich like half-half) which is a good kick to your appetite. I'm so in love with it. 3. Papaya salad (3.5/5) just a little too sour Than normal. They might have put too much lime and missing the fishy smell. But, a good thing is the ingredients were fresh made 4. Basil beef (4.5/5) yummy! The beef was not chewy and the sauce was so tasty and rich in flavor. 5. BBQ beef. (4.5/5) not the regular Korean BBQ beef you have. Papaya salad was really really spicy. Not my favorite, but worth trying with the rolly rice to cut the spiciness down. Fried shrimp-came with 8 pieces. Cheese rolls-I'm not sure what kind of cheese they put in it but it was not cream cheese-it had a subtle flavor and was delicious! FYI: don't expect ooey gooey cheese from it. Entree:: Pad Thai-this is my definite go to place for it! Got the beef Panang curry-not too thick and it had a freshness to it. The color of the curry is red but not spicy at all! Green curry was just as delicious as the panang, but I'd prefer the panang any day. Desserts:: perfect to end a meal with mango sticky rice and fried icecream! They flambé the fried icecream and the icecream is an icy vanilla coconut flavor. The yellow mango was delicious and the rice that complemented it was not overly sweet. This is by far my favorite Thai place in this area. It always seems to be packed on weekends even at 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Prices and portions are pretty reasonable and the service isn't bad given how busy this place can get. Num tuk- grilled sirloin with spices and mint. It was light and refreshing, especially when wrapped in lettuce, which also added some texture to it. Seafood tom yum soup had a variety of seafood (shrimp, mussels, fish, etc). It wasn't as flavorful as I'd prefer but maybe I'm more used to Vietnamese canh chua. Spicy noodles were tasty, though not as spicy as I was expecting. Nothing a little bit of chili pepper flakes couldn't fix. Wish there was a tad but more meat. Mango sticky rice is delicious. Save some room for it! Came here after being disappointed and weirded out across the street (Siamese Basil Thai.) It was packed and everyone was scuttling around to get folks seated, orders taken, food served etc. There was a large group (there must have been at least 15 people and they seemed to handle groups really well. We were seated after awhile and the menus, drinks and food came quickly thereafter. Got the Pad Thai and pad see ew, thought it was named something else on the menu (a more American sounding, generic description; I wish they would use the Thai names and educate their diners instead.) First time visit for a late lunch - arrived about 30 minutes before they close for a couple of hours before dinner service. Since I was starving, I decided to order Nam- sod as a starter and then an order of Pad Thai to take home. The nam sod was excellent - a perfect balance of fresh herbs, spiciness, fresh ginger, citrus and cool crunchy cabbage. The decor is very simple and clean - service was "ok" and portions were good for the price. Had the pad Thai later at home - lots of flavorful chicken along with a couple of shrimp. We evacuated from Florida on Tuesday. We decided to stay because it seems like Georgia is up our 'Korean food' alley. Well, its also up our 'Thai Food' alley too. I am seriously doing all i can to keep my composure and write this instead of diving back in with the knowledge that each bite will send my taste buds, my heart and my mind into interstellar food orbit. This thai rice is very homestyle. It has a mulixture of scallions, of tomatoes and egg but there is just something there that i cant quite figure out. That is what makes this THE BEST rice i have ever tasted. This Galbi rib is so good. seared toca char on the ends. I very much enjoy stripping these bones of all their meat. Thai Restaurant of Norcross is one of my favorite Thai places in the metro area. The interior is not too big but they're able to accommodate larger parties. They have nice, attentive staff. The plaza also has plenty of parking. Their food is reasonable priced. Portions are normal. I do find their to go portions to be a bit small. My favorite dishes are the basil chopped chicken and the pad see ew (spicy). For those who can't take spicy, I'd say this restaurant is very much on the mild side in terms of heat compared to many other places. read more

I love this restaurant! The first time I came, I didn't know the name of the place and a year later, my boyfriend brought me back and now I make sure to not forget! It located in a small (kind of sketch, lol) plaza with limited (but usually enough) parking. The food is so yummy! I always get the papaya salad (and I always try to get it as spicy as I can, sometimes they don't always get it right though) and the wings. I also always love their soup! I have been coming here since I was a kid and it remains one of my favorite Thai restaurants. The food comes out relatively quickly and is always delicious. My favorite dishes are beef salad (I could eat this everyday), pad prik chicken, and hot and sour soup with chicken. If you want something extra spicy, ask for it to be 5 stars! The portions are pretty huge and I typically end up with leftovers even when I go with several friends. Their Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea are great and not overly sweet. Not a huge fan of their Thai coffee. On cold days, I like to warm my soul with their spicy seafood soup or coconut soup since they light their soup on fire. My favorite appetizers are the larb and calamari. I like wrapping my lettuce with the meat from the larb. & you can't go wrong with calamari. Let me start, we ordered the Coconut Seafood soup which came in a huge container with a burning stove thingy that kept it warm. It was super tasty. Unlike most Thai places who gives you a small bowl and charges you a ton. This place gives you a huge container of white steamed rice enough for like 4 people unlike most places which would give you a small bowl of rice. We then ordered the green curry beef and pad Thai. Omg, the portion for the pad Thai was freaking huge. It was one of the most tasty pad Thai I had in the Atlanta area and super reasonable priced for the portion. The green curry beef was super tasty as well. Most Thai places, they would only give you a small Bowl of rice and no rice comes with the pad Thai. And some places will also charge you an extra $2 for additional bowl of rice. All I know is I left super stuffed and even had some coconut soup left over. The final bill was only like $33!!!!! Nothing worse than paying well close to $45-$50 for Thai food and still being hungry. This place will not be like that! I highly recommend this place to anybody who loves Thai food. Thom yum soup was water, had red grease floating on top-no flavor no lemon grass hints-Nada- I got some Tom foolery soup-they're dead ass wrong for serving this bullshit.Husband and son got drunken noodles-I've never seen crunchy green beans in drunken noodles and an ass load of basil just chillin in there . This restaurant is pretty close to where I work, so I decided to stop by, and have gone there twice so far. The first time I went, the spicy spaghetti sounded good so I got that, and it was pretty good. The second time I went, I ordered a shrimp stir fry with rice, which was delicious as well. During lunch hours, they give you an option of either an egg roll or their chicken and basil coconut soup which is really good. I have only ordered the soup so I don't know if the egg roll is good or not. Lunch time could get pretty busy, so I would suggest coming earlier or a little later than lunch time. I think 1:30-2:00pm is a good time to go. Service is good, and everyone here is pretty friendly. Expect to spend around $10-$12 including tip. I always get Pad Thai when I go to a Thai restaurant but today I ordered the Mee Krob as an appetizer and Pineapple fried rice as the entree. Mee Krob is basically a crispy noodle stir fried with beef, bean sprouts, carrots, and shrimp in a sweet sauce almost like tamarind. It was delish! Pineapple fried rice did not come in a pineapple shell like it was suppose to. Boo! It was stir fried with pineapple chunks (canned), chicken, cashew and shrimp in a curry sauce. Here's our review: We started with appetizers: papaya salad was old and bland. Beef jerky was a piece of steak cut in strips and deep fried with no flavor. Caution: choking hazard for kids. The Chinese broccoli was a little bit undercooked and all they used was hosin sauce. Maybe some garlic in it would make it taste a little bit better. Although the food wasn't all spectacular this time, I'm giving this place a 4 star because the service has always been consistently on point and their food is quite good. I love their crab cakes, red curry, pad Thai, and their fried fish of the week. Overall, this restaurant has been around for a while and people keep on coming back for a reason. I don't know if it's 100% authentic Thai food, but it's food is definitely above average. PARKING: when you come on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening, be ready if you can't find a parking space. I remember coming to Thai Restaurant of Norcross (TRON) many, many years ago. Perhaps at that time, we lived in Midtown and the drive was further for us to make frequent trips here. However, we have returned for some good Thai cuisine. TRON is still the same when we stepped inside the restaurant. The decor remained in tact after all these years. It would be nice to get TRON a little face lift after all these years. However, it is the good authentic Thai cuisine that drew us here in the first place. Its location close to Jimmy Carter on I-85 made it fairly easy to find. The parking area is not huge but we managed to get here early before prime time dinner started on the weekend. The Tiki Hut style inside the restaurant created a tropical atmosphere and I wanted a Ma Tai drink in my hand then. They do serve wine and beer here but we had the iced Thai coffee instead. It was good with the condensed milk. Actually, it was addictive. For starters, we ordered the Shrimp Tom Yum soup. The menu call it Shrimp Hot and Sour soup. I guess the owners wanted to cater to the American clientele but I would prefer that they educate their patrons to authentic Thai names of the dishes. The Tom Yum soup was so good. It came in a high bowl with flaming fire, very much like it was a volcano of hot and sour soup, ready to kick some butt. There were shrimps and mushrooms with parsley cooked in a blend of exotic spices and lime juice. It was so perfect and not too spicy for me. I do not care for overly spicy food and this soup was magnificent. Then we had the Masaman curry with chicken. It came in a bowl full of creamy sweet curry sauce with soft tender chicken slices, avocadoes and cashew nuts. So yummy. Probably the best dish of the evening. As for noodles, we had the chicken Pad Thai. It had sweet and sour noodles with bean sprouts and carrots. Crushed peanuts were gathered on the side, if you like. A squeeze of lime added zest to the entire dish. I would have enjoyed it more if the chicken slices were not over cooked. It seemed a bit dry this time but the overall dish was delicious. Since the food is good here, we had Green Curry chicken to go. The green curry had a slight hint of sweetness, cooked with coconut milk, basil leaves, green beans, red bell peppers, Thai eggplant, bamboo shoots and ginger rhizome. A big winner in my books because the curries here are not diluted in their coconut milk. Our waiter had a busy afternoon but he did eventually come back to refill the water glasses. We had already finished the iced coffee and needed a refill on the water. The other thing is that we were only given one regular menu and one pictured menu. I guess they thought that we needed to share one menu. I did not ask for another one as I knew what to order and did not want to take too much time waiting when the dining room was already crowded. To our surprise, the soup and dishes we ordered came out on a timely manner. We did not have to wait too long. If Bill Crosby and REM would come here, then it must not be too bad. One of my favorites and a regular dining option for over 10 years. I heard about this place just prior to moving into the Northcrest subdivision - as the restaurant is so close it made even more sense to visit, which turned it into a regular dining spot. They used to be super cheap - still not too expensive and the food quality has remained consistent since day one - I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there.
