Best Thai in Denton (yes, I have tried them all)... Very authentic, very flavorful, awesome customer service! I have been here several times and everything has been beyond exceptional. Tasty authentic Thai food. I had the green curry and sticky rice. The curry was good, but not great with a slight kick. I would have liked for the curry to of had a bit more spice and flavor, but all and all it was okay. The sticky rice was done well and had a nice nutty flavor. We got seated pretty quickly and service was fast. However, my dad found a huge piece of plastic in his spring rolls and we didn't even get discounted or have the order taken off our bill for it. We said it was fine, but we were at least expecting some sort of compensation for it. Nope, still full price. My brother and I also asked for level 5 spicy for our pad Thai noodles and we both got ZERO spice! There was also a huge mosquito in the restaurant and upon returning I got bit in the forehead by it because I distinctly remember it flying around our table and it landing on me. This a quite and small place that has really great curry. I love the food in general and the staff though few are great.

Let me start by saying I have ordered from Thai Ocha several times with no problem and that I have consistently loved the quality of their food and service..until last night. They lost a dinner order I'd placed online for 6 of my family members. I arrived to pick it up only to have them scramble to find my information and put the food together (which, to their credit, they did in 30 minutes). I have young kids and had been counting on the food to be ready at the scheduled time in order to keep everyone on a schedule. The fact that they lost my order was a real inconvenience. I relayed this to them and asked for a discount or some sort of credit. The hostess asked the owner, and the owner was bold enough to say no. A lost order is one thing, but an inability to acknowledge the mistake and keep a loyal customer is another-I would have been happy with even a small gesture, like $10. This left a real sour taste in my mouth. Not sure I can order from them again. read more

This place has pretty good Thai food; the best I've found in Denton so far. Dishes are consistent so I always know I'm going to be happy with some of my favorite dishes. I have it four stars just because I've had mixed experiences with the service. Some days I go in and get great service; they are very nice and seem to really care about their customers. However there are days when I have gone and my water wasn't refilled not was I checked in on. Just not what I would call great service. I have been saying Thai Ocha is my favorite restaurant for years so it's time I put my money where my mouth is and write this review! I will LITERALLY FIGHT anyone who says they do not have the absolute best thai curry in Denton. I have been to every thai restaurant in Denton and I stan Thai Ocha, the curry is perfect and filled with delicious ingredients!!! At other thai places the curry is too heavy on the coconut milk, too skimpy on the veggies, or inconsistent with the quality of the fried tofu. Not at thai ocha!!! There is not one item I have yet to try from this menu and been displeased with. From curry to noodles to appetizers, Thai Ocha does nothing but continue to impress me. Affordable and delicious! The portions aren't enormous but three dishes plus white rice and chicken satay was great for three people. We got the pad thai with pork (served on a crunchy wonton-ish shell, which I've never seen before but was very tasty), garlic shrimp, and crab fried rice. The crab fried rice in particular was fantastic! It's a tiny little place. I'm not sure I'd give it massive points for atmosphere, but there's nothing detracting about the setting either-- although parking is slim to none! Their Thai Peanut is PERFECT. So amazing. I wish I could eat it for every meal. I tried to recreate it at home so I wouldn't have to leave my house to go get more, but their skill far exceeds and shames my efforts so at every opportunity I beg my husband to let us go. And the price is pretty good! Not as cheap as the old Sukho-Thai (closed now) but since the food is so great, I don't feel bad spending a little more. Service is always INCREDIBLE. It is a nice place but looks a bit old to me. Love the food. We have Yellow Curry and Red Curry with a very affordable price. The curry tastes delicious, I especially love the bamboo they have in curry but can't stand cucumber (not a fan). Overall it's a good place, I will surely come back again read more

I'm a regular lol, I've posted another review before but here's an update: I've moved on from eating pad Thai, so now I love their Thai sukiyaki stir fry and their yellow curry each on spice level 2 (just the perfect spice level for me). One time I came on the lunch special hours, and got a little soup cup of tom yum with an eggrolls with my main entree and it was AMAZING, I just wouldn't eat the Tom yum as a main entree though bc I'm very intolerant with sour things but it's SOO good in a moderate serving. read more

Recently I moved my work and looking for a Thai restaurant. Found this restaurant which is not so far from work. First impression is interior is very clean, modern and cute. And food was also good. Specially I liked TomKha shrimp soup. And one more thing I like is Samsung pay works beautifully here. We have frequented Thai Ocha for the last 6 years since we moved to the Denton area. They are by far the best Thai in Denton. Their food is excellent and consistent. My favorite is the Thai basil noodle, spiced medium, and the fresh veggie rolls complimented by the peanut sauce. We also enjoy the Tom Kha soup with chicken. There is not a children's menu, but our 4-year old loves their shrimp fried rice, bland of course. Highly recommend! read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Denton! The service is always great and everything I've had is absolutely delicious. All of the food comes out on very pretty dishes some are shaped like leaves which I always enjoy. They have a wide variety on their menu so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. They definitely have lots of vegetarian options as well which I love! The veggie fresh rolls make a tasty appetizer with their delicious peanut sauce. They also have really good orange chicken that actually tastes like oranges which is really hard to find. My personal favorite is their pineapple curry. Also if you come during lunch time the prices are cheaper and your meal comes with soup! Give it a shot you can't go wrong! read more

Girlfriend and I usually eat here 1 to 2 times a month. Always a pleasant visit. Great food for the price and the service is always very nice. Their Khao Soi definitely rises above the other Thai spots in Denton, though the broth has been a little too watery the last few times. Unsure if it's because we come in early and it hasn't reduced yet. I do, however, prefer Thai Square for their curries/noodle dishes/ Thai iced tea(Ocha puts too much sweetened condensed in theirs). For Thai food in Denton, between Thai square and Thai Ocha, I would pick Thai Ocha. I just really liked how cozy it was inside and the taste of the food. The food and service was tasty and really good. I always go for the drunken noodles which is called pad kee mow on the menu and my friend always gets the red curry which has a yummy coconut base to it and it comes with sticky rice. Their food has so much taste and the portions are a good size to make you full. If you're a Thai food fan like me and you like tasty I recommend this place. read more

This used to be our favorite Thai place in Denton, but after visiting more recently this place is just definitely subpar to Oriental Garden. We were seated close to the checkout counter where the employee in charge had a loud obnoxious conversation with other staff during the whole course of the meal. There was a new waiter working and it was pretty shocking how poorly the more experienced staff were treating him. They didn't seem to mind calling him horrible things, even in front of the customers. We could barely hold a conversation as we were being talked over the entire time a few feet away. My family had Sunday lunch here. The food was ok - it has been better on previous occasions and the service was very off despite the fact that it was not crowded. The most unusual item was that 18% gratuity was automatically added to the check. For a part of three. I did not notice immediately until another table mentioned it and when I asked to see the detail receipt again, no one seemed to understand what I was asking about. When I have friends coming into town (which doesn't happen too often since it's DENTON) I usually take them to Thai Ocha, followed by a trip to Beth Marie's for ice cream. I like the food here because it's not over flavored like the other Thai restaurants in town. The servers here are really friendly and helpful. Also, I've only seen a couple of restaurants that actually have Crispy Pad Thai. This dish is really good (and artery clogging since it's fried) but it's best to order a side of rice to go with it. read more
