We were incredibly hungry after being at football games all day so we stopped in for my birthday dinner. The BAD: The crispy garlic chicken was super sweet and we did not like it at all but it looked good and the portion size was good. The Thai Tea was not good. The taste was off somehow. Maybe it was the water used to make the tea. There was also hair on the cup but I did not see any in the actual tea so that was a plus. Anyhow, It just had a weird taste. The main reason I went I asked to go there to celebrate my birthday was to get mango sticky rice which turned out to be a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! The mango was sour and it was only half a mango when I am used to getting a whole mango (especially for $10 dollars). There was a hair on my mango slices. The mango tasted like the knife used to cut it was also used to cut onions beforehand. You could taste the onion flavor on the mango. (My husband has done this a few times so I am familiar with what that tastes like, unfortunately). The GOOD: I give this place 3 stars because the crab rangoon was delicious and way better than I have found around town. They were stuffed full and quite tasty. The dipping sauce was great too. You only need a little. The sweet and sour trout was very delicious. The trout by itself doesn't have much flavor but is fried very well. I would recommend this dish but a bit pricey for what it is. The pineapple fried rice was equally delicious. It is a big portion and I would order it again. All the different ingredients come together well. The star system here doesn't quite make sense. 1 and 2 stars have no spice at all. You have to order at least a 3 star to get a hint of spice in your food. Not sure why it is that way but it made it hard for me to gauge the right level for me since I no longer have a gallbladder and have to be careful with spice but still would like my food to have a little extra kick to it. I would return to try other dishes but I would definitely skip the ones I did not like. The restaurant is a bit of a drive for me but I am glad I was able to try it. It is on my list but not at the top. Lastly, there is a bag fee and a fee for cutlery to be added to your order. Not sure if there is a fee for sauce on the side. We did not know this so thought we should share. I should add we got take out and went to a nearby park to eat it just in case anyone was wondering. read more

What a disappointment :-( I'm not sure what's changed for the folks at Thai on Main but it isn't the same fresh food, reasonably priced restaurant it had been. We ordered take away mid-afternoon on a Friday. It wasn't busy. Maybe I should have caught on that something was different when I had to give them the credit card info when ordering rather than when I arrived. It's not a problem, but have never had to do this before at Thai on Main when previously. Food Review: The crunchy noodle veggie with tofu had almost no vegetables, six pieces of soggy tofu, and the crunchy noodles (served separately) were not pan fried but were the type you'd get in aluminum foil packaging from the super market. The sauce was sweet and uninspired. The spicy seafood dish had 2 shrimp, a large mussel shell and mostly onions for vegetables. The won ton soup had bits of garlic floating in it (lots of garlic). The quantity of food in the two main dishes I'd describe as 'meager'. You can visit their menu online to see individual item pricing (including $10 per order for 4 small spring rolls, we had two orders with the above items). Our bill was $70. The food here is always so good! But we recently tried some of the Lao food and the Khao Poon Katee (Lao curry noodle soup) is definitely our new favorite! It is just the right amount of spice and gives us that Asian noodle soup taste we always crave but can never find here in Monroe. It was delicious and even though my order was wrong in two different ways I was still utterly delighted with my experience!! Thai on main is my favorite Thai restaurant and even more so after they added the Lao food. Had tried many of the new Lao dishes including Seen Lot which is a traditional Lao version of beef jerky. Wasn't super crazy about it before but after ordering it tonight I am hooked. So flavorful and tender it seems like they're doing something different. Anyway recommend trying it now and love pairing it with the sticky rice. Such a pleasant experience! read more

Disappointed to have eaten here. There were flies in the table and one flew into my cousins hot tea. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp and the walnuts were rancid. I'm so disappointed. Thai on Main used to be my favorite restaurant in Monroe. I knew that new owners took over on the first of the year so we waited a month to give them time to work out any kinks. A month was evidently not enough. First, let me say that the blonde gal who is still working there from the previous management is amazing. However, they waaaay underscheduled yesterday so she had no support. She was answering phones, taking phone and table orders, welcoming people, helping get desserts, bussing and cleaning tables... She was literally running from one end of the restaurant to the other and kept a good attitude the whole time. Every table in the restaurant was full. There was only one other server that I saw consistently and he said it was his second day on the job. There was one other young guy who came through a couple of times to deliver food and then another guy who brought drinks to one table and stopped to ask how our meal was but nothing else. If you are training a new person, you definitely need to schedule more people. I put the blame solidly on the management as the one gal was obviously doing her best. We ordered summer rolls (fresh rolls) and got brought spring rolls (fried rolls). When they brought those back to the kitchen, they sounded like they were really confused that there was a difference. We waited but never got our summer rolls or an apology (but we were charged for them). We had green tea, which used to come in a teapot so that we didn't have to ask for more tea. Now it's served with a tea bag in a cup. We never were able to ask for more hot water and were done with our tea long before the food came out. The two other dishes we ordered took a long time to come out. Everyone in the restaurant, including three tables that were seated after us, were all nearly done with their meals by the time we got ours. The food came out with out any serving utensils and we couldn't flag anyone down to get them so we used our forks. The food tasted good although wasn't quite as much as we are used to getting. We asked for chop sticks three times and then gave up and ate with the forks at the table. To add insult to injury, we didn't even get fortune cookies with our bill. I know that's not major but added to everything else, it just rounded out the really poor evening. We'll probably wait a bit and then give them one more chance. At that point, there is another good Thai restaurant in Monroe and we'll stick to that. read more

Not celiac friendly... they offer some dishes as gluten free, and we have been ordering for years. They are obviously not meticulous about it though as my daughter with celiacs has been positively glutened. She is in so much pain and can hardly walk. I wish the owners/cooks could read up on this before they offer "GF" dishes. It might seem like a common thing to accommodate, but must be done properly. This was a wonderful little restaurant. Nicely decorated, staff were extremely friendly, professional, and were appropriately accessible to a group of Deaf people for being in a small town. Not bad. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed that you could choose your level of spice. The only thing that bugged me was their "limited special," the Sai Qua. I saw that the reviews were good, so I ordered it. The price tag was 23$, which came out to a 28$ tab before tip (not sure what else they added as extra). What came out was the equivalent of a tough-skinned, sliced, sausage link with far too much rice in the meat/rice ratio, with some strange lettuce/vegetable garnishes and a small cup of from-the-bottle chili sauce. I made the best out of it and turned everything into a few tiny lettuce wraps (reminiscent of a Korean BBQ style), but when I asked for more lettuce, they said they couldn't give me any. The sausage itself was nothing special, I have had better at any German Sausage-house in any major city. I would've been okay paying 16$ for this plate, nothing more. Furthermore, the dish made no sense. It wasn't especially tasty, it wasn't plated appealingly, it wasn't an experience until I turned it into lettuce wraps. It was a complete flop, and anyone who enjoys this has simply not experienced proper Thai or Thai-fusion cuisine. I must say the rice was cooked perfectly, but that is a BASELINE requirement for this kind of business. Otherwise, everyone else's plates looked good and from what I tasted, Thai on Main did a great job with theirs. I don't know what this "Special" was though, and was extremely disappointed. I very much want to support Asian-owned, small businesses, but this was not a great experience. I went out on a limb for this, but it was an overpriced sausage link with cheap sides. I am surprised with this place. I only had 2 items here so far since it's fairly new. I had the crispy garlic chicken and the fresh spring rolls. Staff was really nice and attentive. I will come here again to try more dishes out. There's not a lot of good food Monroe, so I am glad this place can make this town have another choice when it comes to getting dinner close by home. I eat here basically every day. I can't think of anything negative about this place. Staff? Fantastic. Food? So fantastic. Ambiance? Fantastic. It's so quiet and chill, you don't feel uncomfortable for a second. They are so polite, kind and quick. I love that. I am usually on break and don't have a lot of time but that's never an issue. I bring someone with me fairly often and they always seem really happy with their food. The food is stellar, obviously, or I wouldn't eat there every day. Never had a single bad thing. Favorite is their Tom Kah, I get it even if I'm getting something else. I can't actually think of anything I haven't enjoyed. The days I take my food to go, they give me tea while I wait. It is no-secret that Monroe is lacking in terms of Asian cuisine, though that appears to have changed with the opening of Thai On Main Street. While Benjarong is another solid option for Thai cuisine, Thai On Main's customer service seemed to have been a little more involved and their food holds a slight edge in my opinion. As I was part of a large group (12 individuals), my friends and I sampled a large variety of dishes, which included the crab rangoon, Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai, "Street Noodle", "Jungle Rice", Lemongrass Pork, Orange & Crispy Garlic Chicken, Crab Fried Rice. I'm pretty sure I am leaving out a couple of dishes, but needless to say they were all delicious. The standouts for me would have to be the two rice dishes, "Street Noodle", as well as the lemongrass pork (super juicy and well-marinated). None of the dishes were over-seasoned, which is a plus as a lot of establishments tend to be a little heavy-handed with their salt sprinkling... I might also add that their Thai iced Tea was well-made, not too sweet as can be the case at other Thai restaurants. Also, the Pad Thai is not the usual overly-sweet "Americanized" fare that sadly ends up on the vast majority of tables in the US. Prices are also very affordable! Definitely worth re-visiting should I be back in the area, as well as worth making the drive from Seattle when I am craving some good Thai. read more

Today took a surprising turn. Bf wanted J&L BBQ and one had just opened in Monroe. I was looking for something lighter but close by and saw this place on Yelp. All the right signs, pics, reviews, stars. So I tried it. I am not exaggerating when I say BEST THAI FOOD I'VE EVER HAD! I mean it! In Monroe Wa! I've eaten Thai food hundreds of times in several different states and this was the best. I had the prawn summer rolls. YUM! Their peanut sauce is so good I spied a banana in my left over when I got home. The crab Rangoon was perfectly fried, not greasy, good filling, and perfect wrapper thickness and by that I mean sometimes it's too thick and yucky. I also had the child size portion of pad Thai which is my Thai go to. I had it with tofu. Not too sweet, eggs done right, yummy tofu cooked right, I mean wow. I've never been so happy after trying a new place. All my faves were spot on. And the new J&L was good as usual according to bf. 2 very happy customers! read more

I am so glad this place opened up. There were a few menu and delivery kinks when they first opened that the restaurant has obviously worked very hard to fix. The service is fantastically friendly, and the owner can provide lots of recommendations about which spicy sauces you should add to each dish, etc. It's sort of a Chinese-Thai fusion place, and my favorite dish is the perfect hybrid: The Matchmaker. It's chicken dumplings served in Phad Tai sauce. Oh my goodness. So good. I do wish they were open just a touch later, but this is a smaller town, and I expect business tapers off early. My fiancé and I have tried probably half of the menu at this point, and we look forward to getting to the next half! read more
