Stopped in around 4:30 pm to try it out on a Thursday afternoon and was told without a reservation it could be 1 1/2 hrs before we get our food. There were literally two customers in the whole dining area. Apparently this is normal for them as it is a very small place... SO make a reservation if you want to actually eat there. So good and fresh! We went early on a Saturday night and lucked up to get a table for 2 without a reservation. First time here so went w Basil Thai fried rice and masaman curry and an order of egg rolls. So. Freakin. Good! My hubs isn't a huge fan of curry, but he ate about half of mine. The fried rice was full of chicken strips and fresh veggies, so good! Egg rolls sell out and I can see why they were equally as good. Next time we will make reservations to make sure we get a spot and you can tell them what you want and they will start cooking it before you arrive to ensure you don't have to wait a long time. read more

The building doesn't seem like much, but the food is so good. The owner was our waiter, and he was so nice/helpful. We started with the fried egg rolls, and they were absolutely amazing. We are new to the area and heard amazing things about Thai Orchid. We decided to try it tonight and it is by far the tastiest, freshest, and most authentic Thai food I have had stateside. It has a very adorable small dining room with the friendliest employees. The owner was so kind and recommended we make a reservation in the future as sometimes the wait times are very long (I can absolutely see why with how good it is). Traveling through Georgia on vacation and was craving Thai Food. Living in Southern California we have lots of Thai restaurants but they are a little bit more sparse in the south. Found this place and was very happy. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous, and the price was very reasonable. My wife said it was the best beef salad she has had anywhere. Pineapple fried rice, Seafood Tom Yum, Pad se Eew... were all spot on. And the shrimp in the Tom Yum soup were massive.... almost like a small lobster tail. I have lived in Columbus since 2009. my family and I love Thai food. we went at least once or twice. week. when we moved here, I was completely disappointed in the quality with what few Thai restaurants they have here. I went twice at some places just to give them another chance. I was going to just one place that was good enough to go 2-4 times a month. Then quality started to changed and I went maybe once every 3-4 mos. NOW Thai Orchid is so AMAZING that I went everyday but one day in a week. I understand there is only 1 cook and the wait time can take a while BUT it is on so worth the wait! You can taste the spices. the flavor just explodes in your mouth. I get excited when I see them. Always smiling even when they are exhausted from a busy day. It seems like I've known them for a long time friendly couple. There are days I'll just tell her to surprise me or I'll call to see if they have squash/zucchini on hand. If not they normally offer to go get some. Their spring rolls are amazing (not the fried ones) NOW their egg rolls are FREAKING AMAZING Those run out like crazy! read more

Came to Georgia for a family trip and we wanted Thai boat pho. It was hard finding Thai boat pho or just pho in general around Atlanta to Columbus...Luckily, we found Thai Orchid (the only restaurant with Thai boat!!). My family and I ordered one mild and one super spicy Som Tum, Yum Woon Sen, Fresh Spring Rolls, Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, Pad Thai, Thai Boat Noodles, Thai Tea with Grass Jelly, Coconut Juice, and Thai Iced Coffee. THE PROS: The Som Tum was the BEST Som Tum I've ever had. Coming from California, this place wins. The sweetness, sourness, spiciness...everything was PERFECT. The Yum Woon Sen was very DELICIOUS too! I haven't tried the Fresh Spring Rolls, but my family said it was delicious. The Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken was good. It was very flavorful too. I haven't tried the Pad Thai, but my family likes it. Plus, both the Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad Thai came in a huge portion! The Thai Tea was super good! It tasted like a fresh brewed Thai Tea. The Thai Iced Coffee was good too and tasted like it was freshly brewed. You can definitely taste the coffee. We ordered another two Thai Iced Coffee to go (It came in two large cup) and it was on the house. The owners were very nice and made sure we were doing good. They're very talkative too, which is nice. The restroom is clean! LOL. THE CONS: As much as I love the food and drinks here, the Thai Boat Noodles here was probably the worse Thai Boat Noodles I've ever had. It didn't taste like a Thai Boat Noodles. The broth was a weird taste...it tasted bland with a hint of bitterness. I had to fix the broth with the chili sauce given on the sides. It came out a little okay after I fixed it. The bowl for my noodles was very dusty. The edge of the bowl was sticky and it had dust all around the bowl. I think the bowl has been sitting too long on the shelf or something. I ignored it and tried to not have my noodles touch the edge of the bowl. Another con would be the desserts. We wanted Fried Banana and Fried Taro, but they didn't have any available. The only thing that was available on the dessert menu was the Mango and Sticky Rice, which we didn't order. Although the Thai Boat Noodles was disappointing, I would definitely come back (if I visit Georgia again). If I could bring this restaurant back home with me, I would. read more
