Don't ever Postmates from here. That is, unless you want to wait a lifetime for your food. After waiting an hour and checking the app (because it shows you where your driver is via location services), our driver had been at the restaurant for 45 minutes. The ETA kept getting pushed back, so we canceled and called to ensure they weren't preparing the food. The man on the other end started yelling at my husband and arguing with him, then he claimed our driver had left 45 minutes ago. (This was after he told him she was waiting on another order, and ours had been reedy for quite awhile.) Their food may be great -- but their service stinks. They are downright rude and have no common decency when it comes to customer service. I can't say we'll be back. read more

The eggplant was under cooked and tasted weird, there was only 4 stripes of red pepper, and the chicken was grisly. Spring rolls were pretty good. I pretty much made a meal of them alone. Pad thai was okay, and they do give you an enormous amount of it. I recommend ordering 1 or 2 level spicy as 3 was painfully spicy. (And I generally like mid-level spicy.) Service was okay. Not bad, but not wow either. Thai Orchid is a competent restaurant. My first impression was a little all over the place. I arrived around six to an empty restaurant. That's usually not a great sign for the restaurants that I've tried. When I saw the decor I was quite impressed: the fancy silverware is what caught my attention in particular. Juxtaposed with the older looking floor and doors, it's clear what could benefit from some upgrades. My server was good enough. Although, since I was the only person in the restaurant I would hope she would be on her A-game. Now, for the part that really matters, the food: the food was... disappointing. Thai food is my absolute favorite. I tried one of my favorite Thai dishes, the Evil Jungle Curry, and it didn't quite match up to the same dish at Panang or other Thai places that I've tried. The curry itself was watery and had no consistency to it. From what I could tell the curry was either very old or it wasn't mixed properly since there was a white film on top of it. The chicken was also a bit stringy and tasted a little dated. I asked for the dish to be a 4 out of 5 spice-wise, but it didn't taste spicy at all. Atmosphere: 3 Service: 3 Presentation: 4 Taste: 2 Texture: 1 Overall Review: 2.6 Final Note: The atmosphere and presentation of the food drives the score higher, while the food itself could certainly use improvement and more care put into it. read more

Filthy and rude. I was told there would be a 50 minute wait for my food which was fine. When I arrived, I was ignored for another 7-10 minutes. Then when the mad beckoned me to the back he was peeling rice noodles with his dirty fingernails and told me I had to wait until he was done if I wanted my food. I asked how long and he said he didn't know. I turned around and said I'll be in my car, walked past the filthy kitchen with grime everywhere as he yelled YOURE GONNA HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST 15 MORE MINUTES IF TOU WANT THIS BC I GOTTA FIX THESE NOODLES. He had been touching his mask, hair, the phone and orders all while peeling noodles. Nasty. I drove away and will not return. Just remember when your portions are so large, it's only bc a man has been handling all of it with his bare hands while he does a million other things include being rude to the female waitstaff and customers. read more

We both got an order of the chicken Pad Thai, the portions are huge and the food was great! I was totally disappointed. Let's start with the fried spring rolls, shrimp actually was good but over cooked rolls. The vegetable spring rolls should've been under the soup and salad entry which were nothing more than lettuce carrots and something? Suggest adding some kind of Thai light dressing into it otherwise it is a salad in a gummy rice wrap. We ordered a side of fried rice which was greasy but ok, but do not order it as a side, no flavor. If an order comes with rice, no side is needed. I am suggesting that when you want Thai food, you want spice, sorry, we had to add all ours from home. read more

I have had some good Thai food in the past. But since my tolerance for HOT is nil, I usually ask for "0" hot. In most cases, this decreases the flavor to very little... but tonight... I had Thai Orchid!! The flavor is phenomenal!!! Great flavor, consistency of the food, service from the staff and owner... all these things and then some is why I will be back again and again!! This was a disappointing experience. The staff were friendly but the food was not good. The Pad Thai was so thick with sweet sauce, I was quickly overwhelmed. As the dish cooled, it actually congealed to where I couldn't pull out individual noodles. My wife's Thai cashew tasted like burnt oil. The portions were huge, so you get a lot for your money, but the taste was simply not good. I was actually embarrassed to leave that much food when we told the waitress we didn't need a to-go box. I've had takeout from Thai Orchid a few times and have dined in once. The restaurant is family owned and operated; they are all very friendly and kind. I really enjoy the Eggplant stir fry with chicken. I tried the Panaang Curry when we dined in. It had plenty of chicken, green beans, and peppers. I went a little overboard on the heat. The Thai tea was ok, but not my favorite. They have 1-3 instead of 1-5. I ordered the 3 on the curry, which was bearable at first and tasty, but it slowly built to an overwhelming heat. I need to stick with a 2 next time. The chicken satay appetizer and the traditional pot sticker appetizers are delicious. My boyfriend always gets chicken fried rice and never complains about it. Overall, I'm glad to have a Thai place in Yukon, but it's not as preferred as some of OKC options. read more

50 reviews with a 4 star average for Thai food?...in Yukon? Color me intrigued! and then disappointed. I was properly excited to try out what I thought might be my regular Thai takeout place but the food at Thai Orchid is, sadly, pretty bland. Some positives: Ordering and pickup was great, mostly because the customer service at Thai Orchid was great. They were friendly to call-in and friendly to pickup. Once we started eating our food, though...that's when the problems started coming to light. When I ordered my food, I was asked what spice level I wanted. Their scale goes from 0-3, so I figured I'd get a 2 (i.e. spicy enough to give me head sweats, but not enough to keep me up all night in the bathroom). What I got ended up tasting like a 0 the entire time. And I don't say this to brag about my heat tolerance or something (because I don't have any) but...when you're chugging down Panang curry like it's a bowl of cereal, something needs fixing. If spice levels were the only issue with my meal, this would be an easy 3-4 star review. There were other problems, however... The Panang curry was incredibly watery, with a consistency more akin to 2% malk than curry. Worse than that, though, was the overall freshness of the food. The vegetables in the Panang curry were soggy and old, and tasted like they were going bad, and the Pad Thai tasted like it had been sitting under a heater for hours. The chicken in both dishes were also rubbery and flavorless. For the price, Thai Orchid is a no-go. Maybe I need to give them another chance and order-in to get a freshly made meal. Or maybe I need to go outside of Yukon to find decent [any genre of food] food. I get the feeling it's the latter. read more

This place is SOOOOO good!! I had the massaman curry level 2, I tried to go for the mild side as my husband had never had Thai food and he has a tender tongue. I loved it, great massaman, big portion, very saucy which I love. I also got the Tom-Kah soup and yummm, loved it.
