Beef Kaprow

Ok let's keep it a mint. Ordered the beef kaprow, drunken spaghetti and basil fried rice with shrimp and crab. It was all tasty UNTIL we get to the bottom of the rice container, pull up a forkful of rice and....hair (2) - long straight dark hair that does NOT match my purple dreads. So that's the end of that. And my stomach turned.

Thai Orchid Basil Fried Rice

Thai Orchid's Kitchen is such a gem in the SE community! For a reliable, tasty, filling meal, this is your destination. While I've tried various items on the menu, my wife and I LOVE the Thai Basil fried rice and spring rolls! The portions of the rice are generous and filled with a protein of your choice, peppers, fresh chili, garlic and basil leaves in Thai house sauce. Medium spicy. The Crispy Spring Rolls come in a quantity of 4. They're deep-fried vegetables rolls, served with sweet and sour sauce. All in all this is a solid takeout spot. 5/5 for food and service! Enjoy :)

I usually love supporting my fellow Thai/Lao people. However, this meal was disappointing. Had to do an errand for my job and we were craving Thai food. We found this place was nearby and had fairly decent reviews. The restaurant itself is like almost on a corner by a gas station and a tiny few other shops. We ordered the chicken satay (super dry). Then, we ordered sticky rice but for some reason they gave us the rice that goes with mango. Unfortunately the rice looked and tasted like it was many days old. Like a week old. It was two tiny rolls of it and they charged us $6. We ordered larb and asked for it to not be sour and to be made spicy. It was insanely sour and just made us not hungry. We ended up throwing it out. We ordered drunken noodle but it tasted off too. However, it was the best item we ordered from there. Definitely won't be back

This has been my go-to Thai delivery spot in DC for a couple years. The quality is consistently great, and the service is always friendly.

I ordered the Thai tea lemonade and the chicken teriyaki bento box. The beverage was refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. The bento box came with chicken teriyaki, a California roll, fried gyoza, a spring roll, seaweed salad, jasmine rice, and miso soup. The miso soup was a great starter. I also enjoyed the gyoza and spring roll. The teriyaki flavor on the chicken was nice, though I could have done without the stringy carrot and onion mixture. I didn't want the salad, but they don't allow substitutions, so that pretty much went to waste. Service was a mixed bag. The lady who welcomed me in was friendly; however, my waitress was curt and she neglected to bring me chopsticks and a fork for my entree until I asked for them. She did acknowledge her oversight. Overall, the food did the trick because I was hungry. It wasn't the best Thai food I've ever had, but it wasn't terrible either.

ZumoThai - Drunken noodles with chicken. Not spicy enough, but amazing flavors, hand made noodles, loaded with chicken and expertly prepared. 8/10.
