I've been to this restaurant so many times but iseems like they're not consistent with their food. Like for instance , I love their chicken broccoli but it's always prepared differently. This is a great place to go out and get lunch or dinner with friends. I live nearby and there isn't many restaurants around worth going to but this place is a great find! It has really good thai food for reasonable prices. They also have takeout and delivery within 3 miles. The garlic chicken they have is really good, along with their chicken sate and pad thai. I just love Thai Pepper, for dining in, for easy pick up and for delivery. Even dishes one might normally consider as "special" such as their wonton soup is just fantastic. It has delicate chicken wontons, loads of spinach and other veggies in a garlic heavy life-giving broth. Our home recently went through a sick bout and we had all kinds of soups- this is the one I had to come back to. Their other dishes, and we've tried a few are also quite good. I agree with most of the other reviews, but I'm gonna give an extra star because of all the Thai/Chinese places that do delivery to Sun Valley and Shadow Hills, this is the best of the lot (the north east valley is just a terrible place for restaurants). The other ones are much, much worse. In particular, Thai Orchid and Mandarin Terrace are pretty awful by comparison. Like most Thai places, you should avoid Chinese or Chinese/American dishes, and stick to the Thai dishes. The pad thai, pad-see-ew, curries, satays, and especially the garlic pork are all good here, and the quality of the cooking is quite consistent. My personal favorites are garlic pork with brown rice, or pineapple fried rice. read more

There is a limited number of places that I can visit during lunch in Sun Valley. Thai Pepper is actually one that I enjoy coming to. I'm here for lunch at least every other week. This is the best Thai food that you're going to get in Sun Valley. My favorite dishes are: Red Curry Chicken Garlic Chicken The Seafood Soup dish (not the real name). They have lunch specials starting at $7, portions are a good size so you don't feel ripped off. There is plenty of lot parking so that isn't an issue. The staff is friendly and very attentive. My boss is here so often and orders the same thing every time, they just bring it out when they see her. They don't take forever, but plan to spend at least 35-45 minutes in here from start to finish. Delivery is always prompt and they complain. They do accept credit card, but it is a $10 minimum purchase. read more

I have driven by Thai Pepper and decided to try it last evening with my fiance. This is a cute place with a warm welcome by the staff. The moment I walked into Thai Pepper I was greeted by their friendly staff. The menu has a huge selection so there is something for everyone. I ordered the wonton soup and the chicken sa-tay. The soup was more filling than I expected. The fresh vegetables, chicken, and perfect amount of onion and garlic flavoring made for a fantastic soup. The chicken sa-tay on the other hand was a bit dry and was seasoned with a little too much cumin. I had had the chicken sa-tay before from this place and it was MUCH better the first time. This place was introduced to me by a friend. We came here for lunch. The restaurant was pretty empty. The food was pretty mediocre. My friends were raving about their pineapple fried rice. I ended up ordering it with some Pad Thai. Pad Thai was pretty good but there pineapple fried rice was a little burnt. We ended up staying there and talking for about 2 and a half hours. It was a nice quiet area. Great to get some peace of mind during the rush hour. One thing I did not like was the waiter kept looking at us like, ok it's time for you guys to leave. Food was really salty, not sure if they use MSG but I felt like I was having an out of body experience 30 minutes later (as did my husband) and was extremely thirsty. Had a beef dish loaded with salty gravy that tasted like it was created commercially (the gravy that is), and as another person mentioned, the Pad Thai is odd. Thick, with a sticky gravy again, slightly spicy and noodles are chewy instead of soft. It missed the mark on the delicate flavor you would expect from the dish. Save your money. Really good pad tai. I ordered some mango sticky rice and it didn't come with the condensed milk on the side like I thought it would, but when I ate it I could taste it. So I think they cook it with the rice? Not sure. But it was still good! I just prefer to know how much I'm pouring on. Haha. Very very cheap! Very decent meal, but then the next it just wasn't there in terms of flavor. It really isn't the best place for Thai food, but for lunch, given the area, you might want to consider it. All i can say is, I went into the restaurant to place a togo order and as soon as I made my choice with the orange chicken lunch special, I peeked in the kitchen and witnessed the most unsanitary thing a chef can do!!(I work in the restaurant business as well) He literally used his bare hand to wipe the corners of mouth while wiping his nose. He proceeded to wipe his mouth/nose debris on his clothes and continued to cook. As soon as I seen that happen, I told the cashier Im sorry but I can't order from here, "your chef literally wiped his nose and mouth infront of me"! He told me I am wrong and that if I don't want to order here I don't have too loll! All in all if you like sanitary conditions if which your food is being cooked do not go here!
