Love coming here from Yuba City. Best Chinese food in town! Wish the employees were a little nice or at least be somewhat happy when customers walk through their doors but doesn't seem like customer service is at all their priority. We ordered quite a bit of food and asked for a receipt, their total and food costs on their website did not match. I drove back to the restaurant to compare prices and in fact they have also increased the prices by at least 30% :( I added my total before the price increase to be $63.45, we ended up paying $93.89.

We like to do takeout. The food here is really good. I hope that you try it. I love the chicken salad, potstickers, and lemon chicken.

Was good in the past. Not so much now. Management change, cooks change. So go with an open mind.

If I could give a 0 I would. The waitress was very mean. Food was salty AF too. I did not enjoy my food or service at all.

Some dishes were too salty, some were too bland, very greasy. The flavors had all one dimension so I quickly got bored of the taste. Many of us couldn't finish our food. It didn't feel worth $15. The service was also disappointing. It took us a half and hour to get seated and an hour to get our waters. There's apparently only one waitress ever who seemed very overwhelmed and unhappy to be at work. It also took a while to flag her down to ask for the check. The ambiance is also eerie. The taxidermy is outdated. There was no music. There seemed to be no good airflow in the restaurant. I don't mean to just write a review to be cruel. But I do understand why this restaurant is going out of business. And honestly the food, ambiance, and service all need a fresh restart.

Now the egg foo yong was excellent. The only thing I would ask for is more gravy. We really love the gravy and they just wasn't quite enough of it. All in all it was a good meal, large serving and the service was excellent.

I wanted wonton soup, it's a comfort food for when I'm sick and he found this spot through Google. We were pleasantly surprised! We got the war wonton soup, beef and broccoli combo lunch with white rice, and General Tso chicken lunch combo with fried rice. We were not expecting for the portion sizes to be this HUGE. It was enough food for almost three meals!! The noodles has that nice smokiness from cooking over high heat, perfectly chewy and firm at the same time. The amount of beef they give you is great as well, good beef to veggie ratio. My fiancé enjoyed his meal as well. The General Tso had a lot of chicken, it wasn't just straight batter like some places and it was actually a little spicy which he appreciated. The war wonton soup was warm and comforting, exactly what I wanted. The meat was tender, the shrimp was huge, and the wontons were generously filled. It tasted like a mix of bbq pork and beef for the filling? It was different from wontons I grew up with, but it was still good. The service was great as well, and the restaurant was very clean. If we needed some food when we come back from the airport, we know where to go. The amount of food you get for the price you pay is a great value.

The noodles in the crispy noodles was NOT crispy. The fried shrimp were boxed and not battered. The chicken chop Suey was very generous with the chicken, but lacked vegetables. Seemed it was just bean sprouts. All in all it was ok , but not great.

If there's no parking in front of Yang Kee you could park in the Safeway lot which is right next to the restaurant. I came with 2 other people on a Friday evening around 630pm. It was busy and bustling! We ended up waiting maybe 45 minutes for a table. There was nowhere to wait in the restaurant, but there were a couple of chairs. It was very hot outside so we didn't feel like waiting outside. Here's a tip! They have a Yelp check-in waitlist so if you have the Yelp app you can check in before you get to the restaurant. If I go here again, then I will check in from the Yelp app while I'm traveling there. The restaurant felt warm for a hot day outside. The AC was not on high enough. They also had a big fan going but it was still warm. The ambiance is casual. They don't have a large extensive menu, but after eating the food you can tell they place an emphasis on the quality of each dish. From the server, we learned that they have locations in Elk Grove and Roseville. You cannot eat in the Elk Grove restaurant and it is to go orders only. The server informed us that the Elk Grove menu is more extensive than the Davis one. Yang Kee dumpling is mainly known for their soup dumplings. They do have other Chinese dishes as well. We ordered the Yang Keep soup dumpling sampler which included two crab, two black truffle, two pork, and two shrimp loofah dumping flavors, the pan fried pork dumplings, seasonal vegetable dish, salt and pepper spare ribs, and pineapple buns. Even though it was busy and crowded right shortly after we ordered the food the food came out quickly in about 10 to 15 minutes! I tried the crab, black truffle, and shrimp, loofah dumplings. There was a lot of soup in the soup dumplings. The pan fried dumplings were also good but the exterior is a little bit hard to eat since it's tough. Also, when I bit into the exterior it seemed like the soup was hot to eat and I had to wait for it to cool. The soup dumplings were easier to eat and weren't as hot since the dough is thinner. My favorite was the black truffle and shrimp loofah. The black truffle had a very strong flavor of mushroom and had a unami taste. The shrimp loofah had big pieces of shrimp in it. There are two dipping sauces spicy chili and black vinegar/soy sauce for the dumplings. The seasonal vegetable dish came with broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and green beans. My friend did not want the carrot so we excluded the carrots from the dish. Usually it is garlic flavored but they said that we could add black bean sauce or make it spicy. We chose to add the black bean sauce. The dish still had an overall strong garlic flavor with a little bit of black bean sauce. I feel like there could've been more black bean sauce. The vegetables were very fresh. It was a simple dish and not strong in flavor but was delicious! The pork spareribs were fried and had a very crispy exterior and the pork was not dry and moist. There were onion and jalapeño toppings which added a lot of flavor to the pork. We finished all the dishes between the three of us. We also ordered the pineapple buns and they said they could bring it out at the end. The waitress said that we should order the pineapple buns when she was taking our order because sometimes they run out by the time people decide if they want to order since it was already the evening. An order comes with three buns. I love pineapple buns and they're my favorite at Asian bakeries and when I bit into it l there were small pieces of pineapple inside which was a surprise. The bun was very soft and melted in your mouth. Overall, the food is delicious and great quality and not overly salty with lots of flavor. Service was okay since it was very busy and it was warm inside and the AC wasn't cold enough but the excellent food made up for it! I will definitely come back and want to try the Elk Grove and Roseville locations. I looked at the menu for the Roseville location and the menu is larger than the Davis location.

Yang Kee in Roseville is a favorite, so we naturally wanted to enjoy the food at the Davis location. The service was close to nonexistent. Once we were seated, and given menus, it's obvious that the offerings at the Roseville location are far more extensive than they are at the Davis location. We decided to order the BBQ pork buns because it's always a go to for us, and we figured we'd peruse the menu while we were enjoying the buns. The buns arrived at the table, and they were immediately visibly noticeably different, but it wasn't until we tried them that we noticed that there's also a huge taste differential. There was very little filling compared to what we're used to. It was mostly bun, more than anything else. When the buns were placed on the table, there was no contact with us/the table to find out how we we're doing, about the food, etc. Very much felt like a churn and burn moment. Based on the lack of Customer Service, and poor food quality, we opted to not waste any more time or money, and we would find another place to dine at. Thankfully, we are closer to the Roseville location and will still continue to enjoy the food there. We definitely will not be back to this location
