I don't normally give bad reviews, but I lobbied to go here and eat in person after getting take out from here. Unfortunately, they pretty much failed me on all counts for eating in person. Food was low quality, wonton soup tasted like old socks. I'm pretty sure the filet mignon I paid $27 for wasn't filet, and the portion of steak was really small. The noodles weren't very good either. Service was subpar, ignored one of our entrees while taking care of other customers for about 10 minutes. It would have been longer if we didn't ask where the heck our third entree was. Then they tried lying about it, which just was a bad look. My bill was $100+. Seating outside was what one would expect, that was ok. If you want Thai, go to the other place in town on Arniell. Service and atmosphere five stars. Thai is the way to go here and receives 4 stars! Peruvian 'Loma Saltado' shows effort: beef is tender, tomatoes and onion on point and French fries are crispy. The flavor is not traditional Peruvian, but it's good nonetheless. The 'Ají de gallina' is disappointing. Presentation is great. It's a difficult dish to do well. Again, a lot of effort but a miss. Almost as if Thai ingredients found their way into the dish? Highly recommend the Peruvian restaurant in Moorpark, near the golf course, if that's what you crave. The food is really good. I'm not giving a full 5 for a couple of things; the roasted duck curry is great and delicious but I felt that for the price it could have a few more pieces of duck, the ratio to sauce and pineapple is a little off but definitely delicious. The pad prik king is also very flavorful and I added cashews and red bell pepper to it which for my taste really completes the dish. The meat selection was pork and although in this case there was a good ratio of meat to vegetables and sauce, the pork was a touch overcooked. The wine selection is terrific, the bottle of Peruvian red; Tabernero gran tinto reserve was excellent. For dessert we got the milhojas and spumoni bomba. Highly recommend the bomba. Milhojas was very sweet and caramel flavored, it was good. The bomba was great. The service is over all friendly and attentive and prompt but a little inexperienced it seems. Attention to details would create a stronger sense of professionalism; in particular, if we're clearly done with the main meal and are ordering dessert, clear the dishes before the sweets arrive. This is not a large restaurant but the warm wood paneling and Thai decorations make it a distinctive space. It has the quality of being upscale and comfortable at the same time. I think with a few minor tweaks this restaurant could easily elevate to a full 5 stars. Looking forward to exploring more of the extensive menu. read more

We stopped by there today after a movie and I ordered just the chicken satay appetizer. It was awful--they must use the cheapest chicken they can find because it was incredibly fatty. I ate part of one of the 4 skewers and told her I didn't want to take them with me because they were too fatty and not edible. This place has a very nice patio with outdoor seating right in front of the restaurant. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. During normal times they can get quite crowded at peak hours due to their proximity to the movie theater which shares the parking lot with them. Thai Peru is one of my new favorite Thai restaurants in VC. Embarrassed to say I've lived in Camarillo so long and missed this gem. Great food, authentic interior and atmosphere, at a fair price. Interior is 5 stars! Holy gold and burgundy! Super cute decor, really gives off an authentic Thai feel. Also the restaurant is sectioned off into two different rooms so you can have a more intimate experience. Price: simple. Lunch specials $10 and overall a dinner for two is under $50 so I think it's perfect for date night or a simple lunch with the co workers. Service: Nothing to write home about. The owners were friendly, smiled. The new front hostess seemed a little lost but nothing notable. I would say everyone went about business, nice enough people all around but nothing that "wowed" me. Now for the food: 5 stars yummy! The most important to me. I've dined in and ordered take out, through and through the food is delicious. I've tried the basics and everything tasted great. Tom kha soup is delicious. Flavorful curries. But my favorite here hands down is their fried rice!!! This alone is worth coming for. A good place to eat if you're looking for some late night dining. We originally wanted to eat next door but they were closed so we decided to try this place. We opted to sit outside as it was empty and a nice day outside. For our appetizers we had Thai wings and seafood papaya salad. I highly recommend getting both! The Thai wings are a nice size and stuffed with glass noodles. The outside of the wings are nice and crispy along with a nice simple seasoning. The wings are good on its own but they do have a sweet plum sauce with peanuts you can dip them in. Initially I thought the papaya salad could use a little more fish sauce, but second bite in... it was actually perfect. Some places use too much fish sauce, which can make it fishy and smelly or not enough lime to add that balance but this places nailed it! Will note the squid was slightly fishy. The pad Thai initially was good but with more bites in it started to taste too sweet for me. I do wish they had more sprouts in it. The pad kee Mao has lots of celery and tasted like celery and red pepper (I recommend avoiding this fish unless you like celery). The bisteck chorrillano is a tender steak with a side of rice and fried plantain and a couple tomatoes. The beef tasted like curry/cumin and made me think of Indian food. But add the green sauce and it tastes better but I wish the green sauce was spicier. The green sauce is a creamy cilantro sauce. The fried plantains were sweet and crispy. Looked at the menu and it appeared only Thai dishes on the lunch menu, no fusion or Peruvian. No worries, I like Thai. Initially we were trying to go eat next-door but they were closed so we gave this place a try because we were starving and it was late. We were surprised at the menu because they had an interesting combination of Thai and Peruvian food on the menu but then we saw some Italian dishes also on the menu, which made me hesitant about the food. Usually if there's too many types of cuisines- none of them ends up tasting like how it should taste. I liked 2 out of 5 dishes we ordered and they were just the appetizers, which were the seafood papaya salad (Thai spicy), and the Thai wings. They really made the papaya salad Thai spicy which was awesome and they actually used Thai peppers make it spicy versus chili flake powder. The shrimp they used were really big, although the squid was slightly fishy. The Thai wings were super crispy and delicious. I actually burnt my mouth because I tried to get the whole thing in one bite. As far as the two noodle dishes we ordered which were the pad Thai and the pad Kee Mao, the pad Thai is better than most places I've tried around the 805 area but it will never be better than LA. The pad kee mao on the other hand was not pad Kee Mao, all I could taste were red pepper chili flakes and who puts celery in pad kee mao??? And where was the basil that was supposed to be in there? This dish could've been better had they replaced the celery with the basil and added more flavors than red chili pepper flakes. The bisteck a la chorrillano was not Peruvian. It tasted like curry and I know my Peruvian because I order this all the time at Mamita's in Glendale. The green sauce, Aji, was nowhere near how it should have tasted, literally I typically ask for more or finish the whole bottle that they give us at Mamitas because it is usually spicier than here. Honestly if I come back I would stick with the papaya salad and the Thai wings and maaaybe the pad Thai. But I have to say the proportions they give is a lot. Way more than any other Thai restaurants in Santa Barbara. read more

SERVICE - Prior to the pandemic I had eaten here at least 3 times, service was good and the food was too. I took my son to eat there in March 2021 on a very slow Sunday afternoon. We sat outside and the waitress (an older woman) had a horrible attitude from the start. It was as if she didn't appreciate having to bother with us, her demeanor was very unwelcoming and she seemed annoyed that we chose to dine in instead of picking up to go. They were open for outside patio dining and there was not one other customer there aside from a few door dash drivers waiting on orders so I didn't appreciate her rudeness, I am a paying customer and I should be treated with courtesy and respect just as I treated her. After she took our order she came back pretty quickly and practically dumped our plates on the table she never came out once to refill our sodas or to check on us. At one point the waitress saw me trying to turn on the heat lamp through the window but she turned away I never got it started. I actually had my son step inside to flag her down for the bill when we were done. FOOD - We had 2 rolls (they were just ok) they only serve one type of roll which was fine. I had a small hot and sour soup (the broth was very tasty but the chicken was dry & almost rubbery). We shared a beef and vegetables plate (this really lacked flavor). I could've used some hot sauce or soy sauce to improve the dish but again, we were ignored the entire time and at this point felt uncomfortable bothering the waitress. That visit put me out 50 bucks no tip included because it was not earned in any way. SECOND CHANCE - I decided to give this place one more chance in April 2021 on a Sunday afternoon we chose outside patio dining again. Similar experience with another waitress, at one time an older man did come out briefly to ask how was everything as he lit a heat lamp. This was the only pleasant interaction we had with staff as they do not smile or make you feel invited at their establishment. This time we tried the thai boba tea - the boba tasted old and tough and the tea was not very sweet. They filled an already small glass with ice and added the tea and boba, for 5 bucks! We had rolls again - tasted less ok than last time. We shared a very tasty shrimp papaya salad and when we were almost through with it I realized they failed to put any shrimp on it - the salad usually has 2 shrimp. We also shared a pad see ew plate which we've eaten here before and enjoyed but this time it just lacked flavor and strangely the noodles tasted very mushy. Lastly, check out the disgusting tablecloth and table stand. The tablecloth was wrinkled and stained with food crumbs that I wiped off myself. The table stand was full of dust and a layer of build-up from the outside elements - it was gross! Another 50 bucks wasted but this is the last time. This place lost my business forever and I will definitely encourage all of my hard-working friends and family to spend their money elsewhere. The next time that I am hiking nearby and work up an appetite I will try the sushi spot across the street. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! read more
