This is one of my favorite places but today was disappointing. I went to pick up food for someone who's not able to get out. When I called in my order I was told it would be about 15 minutes. Got there faster than anticipated, so figured it would be a short wait. I paid and waited. And waited. After 30 minutes I was told the kitchen never got the ticket. I can sort of understand if the person who took my call forgot to put in the order but when I arrived and paid I'm not sure how the order still wasn't put in. It took my asking twice for anyone to check and they would have started my order after I'd paid AND been sitting there waiting for half an hour (after calling in the order to begin with). It was not all that busy. I will probably give Thai pot another chance because usually the service is better than this. But I had to disappoint someone who'd been looking forward to a nice meal. read more

Decent tasting food; non-existent service. Waitress brought my food and then literally never came back. Sat there with an empty water glass, dirty dishes, and no check until I finally just went up front and paid. Soup was half-full and lukewarm as though it had just been sitting in the back, and same for my entrée. Every time I go to Denver for a business trip, this place is a must. It is delicious, the service is good, and it is convenient. Tom Kha - so good! Portions are massive, even for a small. I got it with tofu last time and it was just the perfect thing to eat and soothe my throat. Pad thai - Also delicious! 2.5 stars A friend recommended Thai Pot as "the best Thai food in Denver." Not having had any really good Thai food in Denver, I asked her if it was good by Denver standards or actually good. She insisted that it was actually good, and that having lived in NY, she knew good Thai food. So, I decided to give it a go. My first experience was underwhelming, not bad, not good, just edible food. During my second experience, I ordered the Pad Ka Pao, which was disappointing. The dish was almost unbearably salty and the chicken tasted a bit funky. I left with the saltiness overwhelming my senses, unsatisfied, and unsettled. The reviews are good and the restaurant is always full, so clearly people like it. But, I will not be back. The best Thai food I've had in Denver so far is a small hole-in-the-wall joint on Colfax called Tasty Thai. Go there! The atmosphere is more humble, but the food is that much better! This place was super tasty. I feel like we sampled the whole menu! We started with drinks, beers and Thai basins. The latter was too drinkable. Dangerous. We ordered crab rangoon (typical), som tom (delic!), and ladna soup (so good) to start. We then shared pad thai, green, and red curries. The curries we asked for a level 5 on the heat scale. A flaming cheeto might be hotter. The waiter said a 7 was a jalapeno. Might have to go back and test this so called scale. Dan our waiter was slammed and still was very nice and attentive. TPC was packed on a Tuesday evening! The place is tucked into the back corner of a strip mall and has neither curb appeal nor is the interior sexy, trendy or cool. That means the food must be on point! All dishes come with a spice level of 1-5 for us Americans, or Thai level spicy for the less wimpy. The ginger salad was great. Loved the crispy fried tofu and peanuts. The dressing was well balanced, spice level 3 was perfect for me, as I prefer my mouth NOT to be on fire. Vegetarians beware though, because the dressing contained fish sauce. The avocado salad was small, so either order it as an appetizer or get a side of protein. My one beef with the salads is their use of iceberg lettuce, which in my opinion should never be on a plate. It should be used in lieu of Styrofoam as a box filler. Save room for dessert. Nothing fancy here, just simple sticky rice or custard. The black sticky rice pudding was warm, not too sweet and topped with creamy coconut milk. Totally delicious. The Thai custard and sticky rice combo equally awesome, and you get to try two desserts in one dish. The custard is similar to a flan, but less sweet and less sticky, without that caramel layer on top. Loved it. I will definitely be back for more. read more

Authentic Thai food with that Thai spice! I've tried most of the Thai restaurants around the Denver area and this restaurant is the cleanest out of them all. I never had a issue with the service or the food The Thai mild is perfect and not too hot. Got it with the Tom yum Pad Thai and Papaya salad. A little bit further down Colorado Blvd. close to the Black Eyed Pea, Thai Pot Cafe is located towards the back by that new Mooyah Burger place I have yet to try. I can't comment on the inside of the location since I sat in the warm car while take out was being picked up. I'm a princess and I know it. (It's hard to leave a toasty butt warmer) The order included steamed dumplings, Panang Curry with Chicken and an order of Drunken Noodles with Chicken. The dumplings were pretty standard, the sauce was a little different, I believe it was a sesame based sauce. The Panang Curry was on the thin side for me, it felt diluted in some way. The flavor was still there and it was enjoyable. I like a little more creamy texture to my curry, I think that means more coconut milk. Yes please! The Drunken Noodles were top notch, wide rice noodles with veggies and some addicting spice blend that makes me want to lick the take out dish. Thai Pot moves down a notch for me for customer service. I was not able to eat at the old location, because no one would answer the phone to take my to go order. No lie, I tried 10 separate times to call and order and no one answered. Not because of busy lines or line but because no one would answer. At the new location (same number), I tried 4 times before I got someone who took my order. If a place is going to commit to offering take out I would hope they have enough people to answer the phone and take orders. To their credit, I ordered the food and he said twenty minutes, and the food was ready at exactly twenty minutes. It was full of lettuce and one piece of chicken and one piece of shrimp. Not to mention the entire wrap was split open. And what is the sauce?? Definitely not peanut sauce. I tossed that too. We've tried Thai Pot numerous times since I'm a huge thai food fan. The flavor of the food here is great: love the drunken noodles and Thai Pot Special stir fry is yummy too. Four stars for the food. Unfortunately the portions are just tiny. Dinner is about $11--$13 per dish. After 2 apps, soup and 3 main dishes, three of us left still hungry. They do have a lunch special menu for about $9--$11 (the drunken noodle portion was decent but the stir fry portions are so small!) My husband's dish was literally like 10 bites of food. They also charged an extra dollar to add in broccoli... which is totally cool to charge for extra add ons but it was like 4 pieces of broccoli. Service is hit and miss. Sometimes super friendly and sometimes not very attentive at all. This would be my go to place if their portions weren't tiny. :( Don't think we'll be back anymore. The price of the food has gone up about 20% in the last two years but it still is relatively inexpensive. It is a good restaurant. We are here on June 5th for the 1st time. Restaurant was extremely clean and all diners were seated more than 10 feet apart. Staff wearing masks and gloves. We made a reservation online and it was confirmed via text within one minute. We were going to get takeout but we miss the experience of being in a restaurant! The food was amazing. I had pad woon sen with tofu and asked for it pretty spicy and it did not disappoint. My husband had pad thai with tofu and said it was the best he's had in years...and we have eaten lots of Thai food all over the country. Can't wait to come back! read more

I was in the neighborhood and was craving Thai food, so I googled restaurants in the area to check out the reviews. This place had a lot of good reviews and it was literally right down the way from where I was so I went to check it out. When trying a new Thai restaurant I always either order Pad Kee Moa (Drunken Noodles) or Panang Curry, and that is how I make my judgement on the place. This time I had the Drunken Noodles and the Spring rolls, I was impressed! The seasoning of the Drunken Noodles was really good and pretty close to Authentic, however next time I will order it without the eggplant. The spring rolls were really yummy too and the peanut sauce was tasty. It is always really nice to find new Thai restaurants that actually taste authentic and I am glad that I found another! I don't live right down the street from here, but I will definitely make the drive to try it out again. read more

This place was decent. I had the pad Thai and my girlfriend had the drunken noodles and we ordered for pick up. They have pick up parking spots where you can call to let them know you have arrived and they will come to your car to drop of your food and then pay. Transaction went smoothly. We both got American spicy level 7 and thought it was mild. Next time I would probably go for spicy level 10. We also go the spring roll but wish I came with 2 instead of just 1 for the price.
