Success can hurt a business as quickly as failure can. My last review said the place was crowded. It was crowded on my second visit as well....and I don't think they can handle that kind of crowd. I previously said "Damned good food." This time the food was so-so. Not bad, but very far from great. Here is the main point: I found a piece of cotton string about 18 inches long in with my noodles. It took quite a while to get the attention of any wait personnel. When one did come, I indicated the dish and said, "send this back to the kitchen." He took the string and disappeared. The noodle dish sat there. After that he avoided my gaze and didn't reappear until I made a bit of a fuss. From there on in I was treated as if I were some kind of annoyance. The manager appeared and was a bit chilly in her apology. I got a fresh dish of noodles, but the evening was definitely ruined in spirit. AND....a classier joint would have comped the whole meal. This place took the price of the entree off my check. OK, better than nothing. There are better Thai places in the area. This place thinks the big crowd is automatic and the staff no longer has to try hard....or even be cordial. read more

This has become our favorite Thai restaurant and it's not close to us. But the drive is worth it. On our most recent visit we had Pad Thai, basil fried rice, and both black rice pudding and sticky rice with coconut sauce. Yes, we really love their desserts. This is thr worst restaurant I have ever been to. 3 words for this restaurant 1 -watery 2 -bland 3 -tasteless. We ordered the Green curry and it came out like a water I didnt even see any green color in my green curry AT ALL and the taste was so bland so I asked for fish sauce and more chillies but didnt help so I just gave up! The Tom Kha Soup was also sooo bland with some really tiny chicken and again I added some more chilies to bring some flavor up. We also ordered Pad Thai it was just fine. This was our first and probably last time ordering here. The food here is good, so no problem with that. We had an issue with our online order getting lost. We approached the counter for pick up and the host rang our order up and I tipped assuming the food was ready, and then the host didn't bother to give us our food or explain why we didn't have our food. When I asked, they told us they were making it because the ticket had fallen down. I understand that these things happen, but a little communication would have been nice. If they cared, they would have at least offered us a drink (even water) or a small value gift card or a small gesture for the time we sat there waiting. We came in late one night And were greeted and seated right away. After we ordered received the food the Tom kha gai was OK, I ordered the Penang curry, and my partner ordered green curry. Mine was level 1 and hers level 4. When we got them they seemed thrown together and not spicy at all. We added more spice and then after they closed we felt somewhat ignored. My partner had to ask twice for a box to take her food home and i asked for more soda twice before actually getting it. I get that you're trying to close down but the people who are there late have the same right to good service as people who come in early. We enjoyed the green curry the day after and the flavors were melded and the spice level was awesome. Please see that your wait staff attends to the guests that come in late just as well as those that come in earlier. read more

The inside is very cute and clean but the food was lacking for me. I ordered the tofu Thai basil with "Thai medium" spice level. It came out with zero spice. My husband also ordered his vegetable stir fry Thai medium and it seemed they actually put spice on his at least. I had a big stem of basil thrown in and the vegetables generally lacked flavor. Really poor service and organization. We walked in(party of four) and were told it would just be a couple minutes. Then a party of 5 walked in right after and got sat immediately so we wait at the bar then another table cleared up. And guess what?, another party of four got sat. I had lunch here the other day with some friends. I had the tofu silver drunken noodles with a low level of heat. I had an eggroll as well. The eggroll was light and crispy without being too greasy. the dipping sauce was the perfect compliment. The silver noodles were so good. Just the right amount of sauce. Everything was coated but not swimming in it. It had just the right amount of heat. The ginger tea though.. Gah! It was Amazing! I will go back just because of the tea. Thai Pot Cafe used to be my favorite thai place in the whole Denver area. My last visit was a disaster, not service-wise, but food-wise. I had tears in my eyes when I got my order of red curry. The curry sauce had a watery consistency, and it completely lacked ANY flavor. Thai food is flavorful, fragrant and balanced. It is quite unfortunate that more and more Thai places change the dishes to better suit general American palate and I guess, to save on more expensive ingredients. I kept playing with different spice combinations and pretty much gave up on turning it into anything descent. A friend in my company lived in Asia for a while. He said the food was completely Americanized, and the management was cutting corners. I agreed with him as even I could tell that this was not authentic Thai. All three of us were quite let down. Took my girlfriend to try out this spot and let's just say by the end, she was a very happy camper! Everything food wise was absolutely delightful! We started with the sampler platter that was perfect to try the majority of the appetizer options. We then shared the pad Thai and the green curry, both at the spiciest level they had ( I love a meal with some heat), and although I could have done with more spice, the quality and taste of both entrees were really on point. Some of the better Thai food I have had in quite some time! Now onto the service. Our waitress was very personable and funny but the service was slow, which I blame more on the restaurant being new more than anything else. My only real complaint was the bar and cocktails we ordered. We ordered saki bombs expecting a full thing of saki and a full beer but instead only received a half a cup of beer and a single saki shot. I would have not been upset if we were charged appropriately for the quantity but we were charged 8 dollars for each. Extremely pricey compared to other comparable restaurants. We also ordered a Moscow mule that was watered down and also overpriced. I would recommend sticking to wine or beer with your meal as their cocktail options are not worth it. Again I have to reiterate how great the food was but because of the slower service and poor cocktails I have to give this establishment only 3 stars. I have no doubt in my mind that a couple months down the road, when the establishment has more experience and better organizes the full dining experience they will be a 5 star establishment! Turn into the sleep center or same parking lot as Mooyah. Good stuff and just about everything can be ordered gf. Waitress served with smile. I came in at. 1230 ordered and got out by 115. Make sure you get order in ASAP if you're on a lunch rush. All the tables were full but it sat immediately. Food is fresh good flavor. I ordered Panang curry with chicken 4 spicy level. I like that didn't overpower but good flavor without too much spice. If you're on your own, with 2 or 4 you'll be good to go. Next time I may get 5 or 6. More than that call ahead and ask to put tables together. I liked the atmosphere of old location it was cool authentic Thai strip mall in my opinion and I dig that . Delicious Thai food, very much enjoy the sampler platter that is light and crispy and not too oily, and each item is generously filled, but not off balance. Papaya salad is great too. I just discovered Thai Pot about two months ago (after they moved to Colorado Blvd), and I ONLY DO TAKE-OUT from them because, well, I have things to do and I don't want to wait that long to sit. However, I think their "time estimates" are generally accurate, so if you don't need to sit, do the take out. Recommended Dishes: Pad Thai, Pad See Ewe, Curried Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodles. Price: Prices are a little better than most other Thai places in my experience, 3 people typically cost about $50 total with apps and entrees, but it fills all three people up thoroughly. I think it's a good value for the money. Spice: I've heard other people say their spice isn't enough, but with the customizable heat scale (0-4 = American; 4+ = Thai) I've found that when I'm up for it, a "10" can roast my intestines (in a good way). I also know some people need ghost pepper flakes to feel anything at all (even emotions), so if you're a hot-head this place may or may not be up to your incendiary level. If you think that means you, I'd recommend starting at heat level 14 (actually, I'm not sure what the max is on that scale, but go higher than you think you should). For me, anyway, anything under a 5 and I don't taste heat; anything above 10 and I'm afraid to poop later. But that's just me. read more

After reading the 1 star comments it's clear that Thai Pot's "seating policy" has left many people disappointed. When my girlfriend and I first arrived it took over 5 minutes to be greeted. Once approached by the hostess we we're told that we could sit at the bar or wait another 10 minutes. We asked if we could sit at the one of the 4-top tables (not to mention the multiple open booths) that were open and was told no because they were "reserved". After the long wait to be greeted we decided to go elsewhere. As my girlfriend and I left we heard the hostess ask the party of 3 people who arrived behind us how many people they had and then seated them directly at one of the "reserved" tables. Ultimately this practice is understandable in some cases but making two people wait even longer after they've already waited to be acknowledged while seating 3 people who just arrived because they have an extra person attached to their party is straight up greedy and poor customer service. Gaining an extra $15 by seating a party of 3 versus a party of 2, not to mention blatantly lying to your patrons, is not worth loosing two customers for life. Very stupid. read more

A long time ago I wrote a review on the old Thai Pot, which was located two blocks away from this new location, but that apparently didn't carry over, so I'm going to write another one for the new spot. This is still a very good Thai place, one of my favorites in town. At first the new location was very loud and sterile, but it's gotten much better over time as they've decorated and tweaked a few things. The menu is still the same, which is great to see because there are so many good choices. All of the noodle dishes are recommended, and the stir fries are right up there as well. Fresh veggies, good quality meat/seafood, and very clean preparation of the food make this place consistently worth the stop. Portions are pretty big and prices very reasonable for what you get. If you're looking for solid Thai food, make sure this place is on your list. read more

First time we went, we liked it. But we went again and finally being disappointed... First, you can't get a booth if you're only two ! Even if it's not crowded. Second, we ordered the green curry chicken, taste good, but they are using some frozen green beans... Weird, doesn't match with the dish. Been to Thailand, and never had that... Third, we took their Thai ice tea ! Was really good this one ! Globally, not the best experience. I gave 2 stars only because of the green beans, their policy to place the people, and finally they charge my credit card with the bill of another table and I never get the refund ! Even if they said that they cancelled the transaction. Had to place a claim with my bank to finally get a refund ! Can only recommend to try different places... Sad. read more

I cannot tell you how much I love this place. Moving to Michigan has only made my heart grow fonder. Whenever I am back in Denver one of my first stops is Thai pot. I have NEVER found better Thai food. Pad Thai Spice Level 3 with Crab Rangoon's fill my day dreams. The Tom Yum soup could cure any illness. What I love about this restaurant is even the spicy food has so much flavor depth. As I mentioned before I have never found better Thai food. We first came here when they were in their old, cramped location, this location is so much bigger and better! It is gorgeous! Tucked into a corner of a nearly empty, new shopping center right off of Colorado Blvd. I always get the green curry with Jasmine rice, and I am always happy with it. The heat levels are good, I usually get a 5 and it's just right for me. The chicken is delicious, white meat, and never has any "gross parts" like I find in other chicken. My favorite here is the pad see ewe pan fried noodles, which ever good Thai restaurant should have. The best thing about this place is their spice scale that goes from 1-50! Walked into this place after seeing the great reviews very excited to find a new Thai food spot. The host told us that there were no more two tops so we could either wait or sit at the bar. We noticed 8 or so empty 4 top tables and mentioned that we could sit at a booth. He said that during the dinner rush they could only sit parties of three or more at these tables. My husband and I absolutely love this place! We have ordered quite a few dishes since we started ordering take out from Thai Pot. The drunken noodles are definitely one of our favorites with quite a bit of flavor and we get it with chicken, which is seasoned perfectly. Also, we have tried the red curry, green curry, and Panang curry, all at spice level "5" which is not overly hot. The spring rolls are large and stuff pretty full compared to other places. We have also ordered the potstickers, which are pretty consistent with other Thai places, so I don't think we'd order those again. But I have to comend this place on their consistency! This is our second favorite Thai joint in Denver. The atmosphere here is conducive to a night out--the ceiling is decorated with hanging umbrellas, they have eclectic decor otherwise, and they usually play some nice Acid Jazz. The servers are always very kind and attentive. There's sometimes a wait, especially at night, so we've sat at the bar drinking sake waiting for a table. Our go-to meals are the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai, because they're so good, but we've also tried the stir fries. The Tom Yum and Tom Kha are great appetizers (and they make them vegetarian and gluten free on request!!!). The Cucumber Salad is big and a lovely appetizer option. They offer a Thai scale and an American scale for spice, which I appreciate. The American is out of 10. I order a 6 and my husband a 5, and we're very happy with that! They also have spice racks they can bring to the table if you want to add more. My one complaint: the portions are on the smaller end. Could use a few more bites per dish. But, the food is so good, I'm not taking a star off. read more
