I recently had lunch with a friend at Thai Pot Cafe. The food was fine. It wasn't extraordinary, but it wasn't bad. I had the pad thai and the crab rangoon. The pad thai was fine. The crab rangoon wasn't and was reminiscent of what you'd get if you ordered Chinese delivery. The service was initially attentive and friendly until we apparently overstayed our welcome. They tried to rush us out and eventually told us "they were closed." Not knowing the restaurant closed at a certain time and guests had to leave, we had inadvertently planned a leisurely lunch. This is definitely more of a "turn and burn" place and not the place for a business lunch or a group gathering that might run long. If you're looking for a quick, casual bite, Thai Pot would probably fit the bill. If you're looking for anything more, it would be best to look elsewhere. read more

This restaurant is tucked into a newish commercial stripmall. Arriving for lunch at about 11:20 on Thursday, the restaurant wasn't very busy (it did get quite full by noon. The lunch menu offers lots of options for $11 including soup, salad, wontons or egg roll. Lunch choices included noodles, stir fry, curries, etc. Pad Thai with tofu was very tasty-enjoyed the soup, too. I found heat level 12 just right-but could be too hot for others. Good place to get Thai food, but not overly amazing. Warning my GPS took me the wrong way so be careful. It's in a plaza with a bunch of other shops. Super friendly service. I still don't understand their spice levels completely. They recommend Americans order on a scale of 1-7, but their scale goes up to 35 for Thai flavors. I like spicy food so I asked about going above a 7 and they compared it to Jalapenos, Serrano and some other peppers. The scale didn't really make sense to me so I ordered an 8 to be safe. It wasn't spicy at all, so for all you spice lovers make sure to go above an 8! FRIED TOFU - Tofu itself was good. Not a fan of the fry. The sauce could have used more flavors. PAD SEE EWE - Could have used more flavor. Like I said above the spice level could have been higher. Otherwise the noodle itself was good. Plenty of egg, meat and broccoli. My friend and I were in town, and after a long day of hiking, we were craving some Thai food and hit this spot since it was in Denver. For a quick TLDR, our meal left no lasting impression on our palette simply because there was no flavor to begin with. The sauce was bland - spices were minimally and sparingly used. And while the service was OK, and the place was fairly clean, the food did not taste authentic. For example, the stir fry sauce tasted as if someone had mixed water with a splash of fish sauce and brown sugar. Its viscosity was much too runny, resulting in a very watered down and bland culinary experience. While it may be catered to locals, those familiar with Thai cuisine with find much disappointment. read more

We were meeting 2 of our kids who live in town for lunch. We hadn't been here for awhile. Service was on point. Our server was one of the best we've had anywhere including high end restaurants. Food was on point too! When I told him I needed gluten free he proceeded to ask if it needed to be celiac friendly. I said yes! What a great question & much appreciated. He was so helpful with our vegetarian daughter (who also has allergies). Their lunch special was $11.85 for an appetizer and entree. What a great deal. My first review ever! Highly recommend ThaiPot. I Just moved here from DC and went to Thaipot last night (9/18/21) Best Thai food in town. I had a great time eating delicious Thai food at your restaurant. My waiter, Kenny was committed to great service and very friendly. I ordered a drink from him and saw he take his time to make my drink. The drinks were great and tasty, THAIBASIN was awesome. It took a while to get the food but the food was excellent and the service was really great, Kenny was super professional and let me know ahead what was going on there (SHORT OF STAFFS, Food might take a little bit longer and he said he will do his best to take care of me. SWEET :) ) I know last night was busy and I saw some customer wasn't happy with it and start to complain and I saw the manager, NOK take care of the business. She was great, calm, polite, and was a great manager. This restaurant had a great staff. Happy for the owners. My first time here and I will come back again soon. I really, really love Thai Pot. I went to DU, and it was by far the best Thai food around (only about 10 minute drive away.) The pad see ew is to die for!!! Just had a most delicious early dinner before heading to the airport. It wasn't the direction we were heading but we were ALL pleased with our meal! We started with fried potstickers (6 of them) loved the ponzu sauce they came with! Also got 2 orders of springrolls-- great peanut sauce too. We all got different entre's and were appreciative the sauces were all so unique. Food came out quickly and our server was very attentive & knew the menu items very well! Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4.5 Value: 4 I have been here a handful of times, and everything I have ordered on all occasions has been delicious with excellent service. Among my favorites: pineapple curry, basil fried rice, & veggie egg rolls. I love that everything here can be made to fit any dietary restriction (gluten free, vegetarian, & vegan), as it makes it a pretty central & easy location to meet all of my friends. The dipping sauce that comes with the egg rolls is so good - sweet & sour with peanuts to add something different. The pineapple curry has a lot of flavor & is not a dish I can get at most other Thai restaurants. This restaurant also has different spice levels than typically Thai restaurants - they have "American spice" levels 0-7, & then "Thai spice" levels 10 (mild), 20 (medium), & 30 (Thai hot). I typically go for the Thai mild or mild+ which provides nice flavor & a little tingling on the tongue without burning anything else... :) I am giving the value for this a 4 as the portions are decently small, but pricier than other places I have been too. What happened to this restaurant? We used to go here and it was excellent. Tonight we picked up inedible spring rolls. The bean sprouts were old and brown, the vegetables slimy. The food was old and gone bad, and unsafe to eat. Spring rolls need to be made fresh, of absolutely the freshest ingredients. Ordered take out here with a friend and ordered Pad Thai (I'm basic lol). Definitely an establishment for the non Asian folk lol.. the cashier was really nice, but the food was just okay. I ordered a spicy level 4 (not Thai spicy) but it wasn't even spicy at all- black pepper is spicier! Flavor want as prominent as I was hoping. Also they said take our would be ready in 10 minutes, but it was really like 25 minutes. Anywho, I'm not impressed. Oh my god, I'm traveling from another city never have bad experiences to order the food from Thai restaurant before. I ordered authentic Thai Papaya Salad but I got some weird salad instead. Moreover, they don't give us utensils because usually Thai restaurants they provided sets of utensils or chopsticks. The girl who hold a phone really unrealized service mind. 4th time eating here. Always a great meal. Service is friendly and prompt. The soup broth is above average, bordering on exceptional. Same for the wontons. The rest of the dishes we've tried were very good. Only issue was they didn't give back the change from the bill....seems they just rounded it up. Was only one cent, but anyone with professional restaurant or retail experience knows you give back the change unless customer specifically says keep it. Walk in the place is popping on a Tuesday winter night, that's a good sign so I'm excited to sit down. Wasn't too hungry so just snacked on veggie egg rolls and the crab wontons. The egg rolls were excellent with soft veggies that melt in your mouth. The wontons weren't the best and a little too cream cheesy but went down good with the light sauce that was served with both dishes. There's one reason I go to Thai restaurants and that is for the sticky rice and mango and this place knocked it out of the park and for that reason I'll most certainly be back! read more

We have tried a few other Thai places in the area, and many were just "average." Thai Pot Café outshined them all! My husband and I base our Thai food off of the curries, since we looove curry. Most places have decent noodle dishes (drunken noodles being our favorite), but we are very picky about our curry. I ordered the Massaman curry with chicken, while my husband ordered the pineapple curry. I appreciate that Thai Pot Café indicates clearly on their menu what can be made gluten-free (my husband has celiac sprue). Both of our curries were fantastic! The massaman curry was flavorful, rich, and the perfect curry consistency (not too thick, but also not too liquidy). The pineapple curry was delicious as well, and probably one of the best pineapple curries I have had. The massaman curry was definitely the best we have had in the Denver area so far. My only complaint is that Thai Pot charges extra for additional rice.... Caution - Spice levels go extremely high here, into the true Thai spice levels. I had a level 6 which was an enjoyable kind of spicy. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back, Thai Pot Café is now officially our go-to Thai restaurant! read more

Been a few times and really love it. I'm very particular about Thai food and Thai Pot Cafe delivers it. It may very well be the best in Denver. I hope they change their style of cooking anytime soon because that's my stop when I crave Thai. I've also had the drunken noodles on another visit and it was delicious. Denver... All week got in too late last night to eat properly (aka mik-e-dee's at midnight arg). I paid for that choice all day. So desired healthy and spicy to sweat it out of my system. Yelp found this place and thanks to you all I gave it a go. Super crowded at 7pm. Ate at bar. Green papaya salad, cup tom yum (if that was a cup I would hate to see the bowl) and drunken noods with shrimp. Waiter asked how spicy, I said 10. For all three. Two sapporo's could not quell the heat. Had to order a Thai iced tea which also was huge! Very fresh very clean and tasty each bite. A bit hipster but decor was brilliant and welcoming although modern. Friendly team oriented wait staff. Great for solo eaters, small parties of 4-6 and couples. Highly recommend it! read more

I have been here for lunch a few times now. The place is extremely popular, and frequently gets full well before noon. I have tried the curries, the soups, and the drunken noodles as well. I also have tasted the egg rolls and crab rangoon. My overall impression is good quality Thai food with an emphasis on extra veggies. Sometimes I encounter a couple things in the dishes that seem superfluous (like extra eggplant or crunchy green beans), but it all tastes good. The heat scale here goes from one to 10, and seems less punishingly face-melting than what you might encounter at other places. I think you need to get a least a four if you want to feel anything. The prices here are not outrageous, but neither are they especially cheap. However, it seems like you get good value for your dollar. Service is generally good, but tends to bog down (not surprisingly) as they approach full capacity. I have not had occasion to come by later in the afternoon to try happy hour yet. But, with the 1/2 priced beers and other specials, it is definitely on my to do list. read more

As the reigning duchess of Thai Pot Cafe, I figure it is time I write a review. I'm going to be honest with you. If I don't eat Thai Pot Cafe at least once a week, I start to get cold sweats, a weird eye twitch, and tendencies to scream at anyone who makes eye contact with me. I'm hooked, to say the least. I usually dine with my coworkers during lunch. Their lunch special is totally killer. Appetizer, entree, and drink usually comes out to less than $15. Service is fast, so you can get in and out of there with a happy belly very quickly. Most of the time I like to explore the menus of the places I go, but I've gotten caught in a torrid love affair with one plate. My standard order is pineapple curry with tofu, starting with crab Rangoon. I always order this curry. Its my favorite pineapple curry I've ever had. Just perfection. Only flaw of Thai Pot Cafe is their confusing spice scale. Some waiters will tell you it's 1-5. Some will tell you it's 1-100. I usually ask for "Thai medium" and have them bring the spices out so I can add to the heat. Be sure to get a Thai tea (my favorite is with half almond milk half cream). This place is so glorious. *happy sigh* this place! We went to the Cherry Creek area to pick up some shoes and randomly chose this Thai restaurant for dinner. I've had mostly crappy Thai in the Denver area so I wasn't expecting much. I ordered my stand by for Thai: Pad kee Mao aka drunken noodles, this time w/ beef. My boyfriend ordered Panang curry with chicken plus some appetizers. Everything was fresh, well prepared and absolutely delicious! Noodles were smokey and scrumptious and the curry had a complex spice pallet without being excessive. The jasmine tea I had was pretty good. Stash brand so nothing "special". He loved the hot mango martini and said the flavor mixed shockingly well together. Fresh spring rolls came out first. Normally I don't like these much but he ordered them and I actually loved them. (Actually it was one larger roll cut in half.) Not too much rice wrapper or too much Lettuce inside. Leaves of mint and julienned veggies married perfectly with the peanut sauce. Thai wings were next. It came with 6 for $7 which I thought was a bit high but they were super crispy like I enjoy and the lemongrass and peanuts that accompanied was a nice touch. Sweet chili sauce was on the side so they actually stayed crispy :-) yay! My noodles were flawless. I'd say the portion size was about 1/3 smaller than I'm used to and I had no leftovers to take home like usual but for the quality of the food I didn't mind. The Rice noodles were fresh, tender and perfectly cooked. Everything from the vegetables to the noodles had a little bit of smoky browning on the bites just like they're supposed to. They use egg and tomato and the sauce is a delicate brown sauce with some sweetness and smokey spice. The beef slices were quite thin, mostly tender, lean slices of well cut beef. No gnarly cartilage and fatty bites like at all the other Asian places around serve. My dish was so perfect and scrumptious I actually ordered a second entree of it to take home for lunch the next day. I don't think I've ever done that in my life before. (Note for the spice lovers: I ordered spice level 3-4 & I could hardly taste any spice. The waitress who helped us said that their spice level SIX was equivalent to a *jalapeño* LOL. So if you want epic spice go for 13+ range. My bf got a 10 and I could eat it but normally I can't tolerate his epically hot food.) My boyfriends panang curry was delicious. The curry sauce was thickened but still soupy and not too sweet or coconut creamy. It had complex but well balanced and delicate curry flavor. The veggies were all nicely prepped and the chicken was thinner and more tender slices than I've ever seen in any of the Denver area Thai restaurants. To top it all off the decor, while simple, was charming. Festive paper umbrellas hung from the ceiling. Not exactly a romantic ambience but clean and brightly adorned. Lastly the service was utterly splendid, (and always has been when we returned). All the staff helped support each other and so that meant if our waitress was busy someone else rushed our drinks out or dropped an app off or refilled our water, ensuring everything was either properly hot or cold and fresh. I was blown away by how cooperative and effective that level of service was! I'd recommend this Thai restaurant to anyone and it's authentic as can be found around here or even in San Fran or NYC. Very well run, great food, great attention to detail and reasonably priced. Two drinks, two apps and two entrées for all around $70 after tip! Can't wait to return! read more

This is a clean little establishment with serious food. What I'd recommend: pad thai, drunken noodles, any curry dish, and thai tea. The spice levels range from 0-30 (!! lol). I usually go with 5, just a little less spicy than a jalapeño-level-7. Pro tip: if you're unsure, go lower and ask for spice on the side. One other rec: stop by meet fresh after for dessert! read more
