I visited during lunch and was surprised that Thai Riverside is pickup/to-go orders only. The gentleman that took my order was very fast and not very polite or helpful. I asked if I could order the Pad Thai with chicken at spicy level 3/5, and he just turned around and started towards the kitchen. I had to call after him to find out how long the wait would be. Other than this, the food is really very good and took only 10 minutes from the time I arrived and left. The spicy level was perfect, chicken was delicious, tofu fried to perfection, and I loved that there was a ton of peanuts and a juicy lime. Love this place and have eaten here several times, did not realize they charged more for take out orders but it's not going to make me stop coming here. One of the best Thai places around and love that they actually make food 'Thai hot' if you ask them to. Very good flavors and pretty traditional style cuisine, except I think they're slightly heavy handed with the sugar. This was my third visit to Thai Riverside, and the first after the mild remodel that saw the removal of the old buffet gear and addition of a modest bar in its place. The flooring was upgraded, and in general, the place looked freshened up. A definite improvement. But how was the food? I'm happy to report, as good as ever. I ordered the lunch special, choosing tum yum soup and spicy stir fry beef and basil. The soup was rich with a modest peppery punch, firm mushrooms and other vegetables to accompany the chicken. The beef and basil wasn't quite what I was expecting, coming out in a format that was basically "beef fried rice with some basil added in". It was very good, but I wanted something more vegetable-centric that rice-centric, so be warned if you're tempted to order this. Again, it was very good, with firm vegetables and spicy beef, with the basil adding that special Thai flavor. We'll be back here for sure, as it's a favorite of our Friday lunch bunch, and I'll make sure and steer towards the dishes with less rice next time. read more

They had to up their prices, which is understandable but I feel like they skimped out in servings. There was a bed of lettuce that looked like there was a lot more food than there really was. Yes people, yes. I am giving 5 stars to this adorable, ultra delicious, tiny Thai spot! The prices are right, the food is incredible, the service is sweet, and the setting is serene. When my sister, niece, and I first pulled into this little shopping center, I thought for a second that the restaurant was titled, "Thai Riverside Donuts." I was confused and mildly excited (who wouldn't be?), but ultimately relieved when I realized there simply isn't much space between Thai Riverside and the donut shop next door. We entered our destination (around 1 PM on a Tuesday) to find only a few patrons in an exceedingly clean, pleasantly chill, and modestly decorated restaurant. Ahhh. I knew it'd be a peaceful lunch! We took our seats, set the sweet babe in a highchair, and perused the darling menus. All your classic Thai favorites can be found; spring rolls, soups, curries, fried rice, stir fry, noodle dishes, etc. Then there are a few not-so-common additions that further intrigue your mind and palate: curry puffs, corn fritters, deep fried tofu, crab rangoon, sriracha fried rice... Red curry is one of my most favorite dishes ever. It's so beautifully sweet and spicy at the same time; that perfect blend of cool coconut milk and warm, earthy curry. Thai Riverside's version did not disappoint! It was completely splendid; filled with peas, carrots, crunchy bamboo shoots, and crisp green pepper. I did do something that I usually don't... I ordered this curry with meat. Chicken, to be exact! Thinly sliced, super moist, flavorful chicken. Perfection :) Did I mention that the meal I had was part of an $8 lunch special? $8 bucks for an entree and one appetizer; soup, salad, or spring rolls. I went with the house salad + peanut sauce and I was impressed. It was filled with bright greens, purple cabbage, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, crushed peanuts, and a creamy dressing. Delish! My sister ordered spring rolls and spicy pad thai (which she kept praising long after we left), and for my sweet niece; sweet sticky rice with mango (which was displayed beautifully and tasted fantastic). Great Thai place in grapevine! Came on a Friday Lunch and it wasn't too busy. Clean and contemporary decor. Menu covers all your basic thai dishes and more. Thai ice coffee was rich and strong! Delicious! We ordered crab rangoons to start. Although on the smaller side, they were packed with flavor. Pad se ew- flavorful and you can smell the wok: try the roast pork it's delicious! Crab fried rice- actual chunks of real crab in there! Their lunch menu is M-F for $8.95 you get an appetizer or soup and dishes to choose from. I used to love this place and had been going for years. Had a terrible experience today and the way they handled it makes me not want to go back. First I ordered the Basil Fried Rice level 4 and the price is $10.99. Received the bill and it was $11.90. Gave the waitress my card and the receipt that came back after she swiped my car was for $12.93. Although not a major difference, I inquired on the new price. Was then told the difference was due to it being a credit card and if I wanted to pay the $11.90 price I would have had to pay with cash. In my opinion, that should be told to the customer prior but okay so I took my food and went home. I ordered a level 4 spice level spicy basil fried rice. When I got home there was not any spice on the rice. And the rice did not taste like it usually does and had a smell. I called to request a refund and was asked well what do you want me to do? I said I want a refund. She puts me on hold and comes back and asks was there hot sauce on the side. I said no but there usually is not hot sauce on the side, you guys usually season the food to the spice level. She then tells me, we can remake it for you. I said no thank you, the whole ordeal has put a bad taste in my mouth so I rather have a refund. She then tells me I have to bring the food back in order to get the refund. I am going to take the food back up there because I don't want it but as the customer I should not have to waste gas to drive back up there for something that was their mistake. I definitely will not be back. I am going to try to find another thai spot or go to thai thip in north richland hills. So I've eaten here several times now and I realize I love the food so much I have to change the four stars to five stars. I'm obsessed with the Pad Thai. I get it with tofu and it's so scrumptious! Unfortunately I had to change my five stars to four stars. I really like the food here so I'm incredibly disappointed in the fact that they charge ten percent extra on takeout orders. I've been ordering takeout here for a while now and I was completely unaware that they charge extra. I just noticed that they have a hand written piece of paper hiding off in the corner of the restaurant where they say they charge ten percent extra on all takeout orders. When I asked why they charge extra on takeout the person seemed embarrassed to answer. They said it's for the containers and utensils. Lots of places charge for delivery service which makes sense, but takeout!! When I drive myself to your business and I'm paying you to give me food why on earth are you charging me a fee?? I've never heard of this before. If their margins are so low than they need to raise the price of their food. What bothered me the most is that I felt like they were being shady about disclosing that information because the tiny hand written piece of paper hiding in the corner of the restaurant. Clearly they are trying to make sure that their sign is in a spot where most people won't see it, but they can say they disclose the fact that they charge an extra ten percent on takeout orders by having it posted on the wall. I came for lunch. They offer an $8 lunch deal with many entree selections accompanied by either soup, salad or spring roll. I had the green curry with soup. Both were very tasty. I selected a medium (3) heat on the spice and it was pretty hot. I did feel the curry had the right mix of spices to make it the complex flavors I have enjoyed at so few Thai restaurants. It was delicious. That pushes it up in my ratings. But on the downside I felt the portion of curry to be small, even for lunch. I would have liked more food. Also, the dishes were tiny, just a small bowl full to the brim and a small saucer of rice. I had to eat some of the curry to make room for rice. And the dishes, like the room itself, were quite ordinary, not inspiring at all. I will say the service was good. For the quality of the food I would go 4 stars. We ordered chicken pad Thai. I got level one and my boyfriend got level 5. 1 being the least spicy, 5 being the most. Level 5 was not very spicy(if you love super spicy foods). You can ask them to bring out the pepper flakes and chili sauce if you want to add more spice to your food. I have been to Thailand and I ate pad Thai almost every day while I was there. I can't say Thai Riverside was as authentic and good as real pad Thai, but it was still good. We went on a Friday evening, the restaurant was nice, quiet, and cozy. You can BYOB and they will chill it for you. There is even a beer/wine store right next door, you can pick some up before dinner! If in the area, this place is worth a try. My girlfriend picked out this Thai place to meet for lunch. We are always reluctant to try new Thai places because they are hit or miss. This one was a HIT! It's very non descript inside, and that's ok, hows the food? It's so tasty!!! I ordered the Drunken Noodles with Tofu (heat index of 4 on a scale of 5) and a Spring Roll. My friend got the Stir Fry with Tofu (heat 3). Every time I indicate the heat I'm looking for, it never delivers. Here, it totally did! Heat, with still so much flavor! Yummm, Thai Riverside! This restaurant is easy to miss. I had no idea it was back here until I stumbled upon Grapevine Beer & Wine. Lucky thing it's nearby, since Thai Riverside is BYOB. Every single thing I've tried here has just been over the top, delicious perfection. The pad num prik pao is fantastic to the point that I have trouble convincing myself to try new dishes because I crave this one! My husband is obsessed with one of their current chef specialties, the panko salmon. Their levels of spiciness are right on target, so order with confidence. Count on fresh vegetables, beautifully presented food, and perfect flavor combinations here. And I'm not usually a dessert person, but sweet baby Jesus, their fried ice cream is magical and heavenly and everything good in the universe. It's never been busy here when I've been. In fact, we are usually the only people in there while a steady stream of people come in and pick up their take out orders. We've also been the people coming in for take out, so I'm sure that's the crux of their business. So make sure you go by the corner store and pick up a bottle before coming to Thai Riverside. All their lunch meals are $8. You choose an entree, and it comes with a choice of appetizer- soup, dumplings, or thai salad. All of their appetizers are good, but I love the dumplings the most and my friend loves their soup more. We always get their pad kee mow which is delicious. We have got their red curry which is also SO good. Their green curry is also good, but our favorites would have to be red curry and pad lee mow.
