Yummm, Thai Riverside! This restaurant is easy to miss. I had no idea it was back here until I stumbled upon Grapevine Beer & Wine. Lucky thing it's nearby, since Thai Riverside is BYOB. Every single thing I've tried here has just been over the top, delicious perfection. The pad num prik pao is fantastic to the point that I have trouble convincing myself to try new dishes because I crave this one! My husband is obsessed with one of their current chef specialties, the panko salmon. Their levels of spiciness are right on target, so order with confidence. Count on fresh vegetables, beautifully presented food, and perfect flavor combinations here. And I'm not usually a dessert person, but sweet baby Jesus, their fried ice cream is magical and heavenly and everything good in the universe. It's never been busy here when I've been. In fact, we are usually the only people in there while a steady stream of people come in and pick up their take out orders. We've also been the people coming in for take out, so I'm sure that's the crux of their business. You can place your take out order online, which is convenient, but they don't have everything on their menu online - for instance, the yummy chef specials. I love Thai Riverside, but there's something wrong with lunch menu. Order special crispy catfish for almost $20 and it only comes with white rice...but cheap lunch menu comes with app and their amazing soup...? We have been here a handful of times, and normally come during lunch time when they have their awesome specials! It's BYOB and conveniently there is a store in the same area that sells beer and wine! So make sure you go by the corner store and pick up a bottle before coming to Thai Riverside. All their lunch meals are $8. You choose an entree, and it comes with a choice of appetizer- soup, dumplings, or thai salad. All of their appetizers are good, but I love the dumplings the most and my friend loves their soup more. We always get their pad kee mow which is delicious. We have got their red curry which is also SO good. Their green curry is also good, but our favorites would have to be red curry and pad lee mow. They also do the spice level like traditional Thai places, so be careful! We love our spices but we even get this spiced at level 3 and ask for extra spicy sauce on the side! read more

The service was good. The noodle dishes were over cooked, both the chicken and the noodle. The flavors were not particularly noteworthy. The noodle in the Pad Thai seemed to be thin spaghetti noodles. Maybe not but, the texture, appearance and taste lead me to believe it was. Not a fan of the vegetable spring rolls. Definitely tasted pre made/previously frozen. Very mushy vegetables and although crisp on the outside there was a doughy layer inside. I actually should give them 3 stars because service deserves . I ate there for lunch today and was very impressed with the service and the food. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked politely to sit wherever I choose. The place was very inviting and clean. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the stir fried vegetables with chicken, and spring rolls. I ordered it a little spicy, that would be a number one (on a scale of five). The spring rolls came out very fast and were fresh and hot. Before I finished those, my lunch came out. Better, yet not better. We have loved this place for awhile. Recently, a new owner came on-board. The menu looks a lot better, the spiciness has vastly improved, but delivery is gone and some food is just bland, even with the spicy level at high. These are foods that I can highly recommend: Golden Tofu - deliciously fried, may be a bit on the greasy side, but hey it's fried! Duck Salad (Spicy #5) - deliciously wicked! Sri Ra Cha Fried Rice (Spicy #4 w/ chicken) - The best thing on the menu we have tried so far! Sesame Stir Fry - Great sesame flavor and fresh ingredients. Red Curry - I tried this with the previous owners and it was tasty. Haven't tried with new ownership. Our go-to Asian, neighborhood restaurant! First time trying this place since moving to Grapevine. I went during lunch and got the red curry with tofu, and the Tom yum soup for the lunch special. I also got a side of crab Rangoon. All of it was super tasty and a good portion size for the price. I like my food spicy and got my curry with a 3/5 spice and it was just the perfect amount of spice for me. Pretty tasty food I had the chicken pho and fried rice very common Thai foods but both tastes unique. Only reason I can't give a 5 is because if you go here for a quick lunch break you won't be able to dine in like other restaurants around due to corona. My food was just boiling hot and put into small containers and I had to eat in my car. I ended up spilling boiling hot soup all over myself and my car and you would have to wait 30 minutes to get it to cool off enough to try and eat. There's also paper under my rice but when it stays in a styrofoam container and is too hot it gets it mixed into the rice so I also ate paper. We ordered calamari for the appetizer the batter it was fried in wasn't very flavorful but the sauce that came with, was so it was fine. I ordered mussamun curry with chicken and substituted steam noodles for the rice. I chose level 1 (levels were 0-5) I'm not a very strong person when it comes to spicy food but every other Thai place I've been to if I say 0 it's really bland. THIS PLACE IS NOT THE CASE! I got a 1 and it was sooooo Spicy. I tried to handle it, but when the server came to the table I told him it was really too Spicy and asked if he could add some cream or coconut milk to tame it down. He took my plate back and made a whole new plate within 5 mins, and had a great attitude about it. Portion sizes were larger than average and when we left we were full. I used to love this place but noticed the taste of The food is no longer consistent. A month ago I ordered the Panang curry and it has to be the worst thing I ever ate! Something was missing either the coconut milk or it wasn't done cooking. Sometimes the food is amazing and sometimes it's meh but never as awful as that day. I have yet to go back. We had Tom Yum and Pad Thai for lunch, the Tom Yum with number 2 spice is just the right amount of spice and it is very good with rice, the Pad Thai chicken with number 3 spice was a little too spicy for me, I would recommend choosing level 2 or 1. The logic of their spice here is 1 for mild, 2 for spicy, 3 extra spicy, 4 spicy plus, 5 ultra spicy. The restaurant is fancy with meals starting to $8 and above. Thai Riverside is authentic Thai food. The atmosphere is okay, and the building kind of looks like a hole in the wall, but it is fantastically spiced and cooked food. I eat here at least once a week. I have tried almost everything on the menu, and never once had a bad experience. I highly recommend anyone to try Thai Riverside, and I hope you love it as much as I do. read more

So first, in the interest of full disclosure, I am a thirty something white guy from the mid-Atlantic. I have never been to Thailand and only recently have discovered Thai food. That being said... This is an excellent restaurant. I had the Pad See Ew and it was fantastic. My fiancé ordered the green curry. Our server (and also the owner, I presume) asked her on a scale of 1-5 how spicy she likes her food. My better half answered "3." She likes spicy food so this was not an outrageous choice. But wow, did this dish bring the spice. When we asked if there was something we could add to the food to make it less spicy our server immediately and warmly offered to make her a fresh dish. This was far above our expectations. So not only are there various levels of spice for every pallet, they don't hold you over the coals if you choose the wrong one. Beautiful restaurant, nice staff, great food, reasonable prices. What more can you ask for!?!? read more
