    Beef Pad Thai

This is a small Thai and sushi place in MJ. Our first time being here, we waited a while at the front to be sat. Nice inside, the restaurant is decorated very nicely, a little dark, but overall really nice! The menu is extensive, so many options and different things to try. It took quite a while to get our food, and my husbands food came much later than the rest of our food. My daughter ordered two different sushi rolls and loved them, the presentation was great. I ordered the beef pad thai and it was great! The presentation was well done in a metal bowl and the flavor was awesome! My husband got a beef bento box and the beef was high quality rib eye and cooked perfectly! We will definitely be back to try more things on the menu, just hope the service is a little better next time.

Our gang of 4 enjoyed lunch at Thai Samurai. After many visits of take-out, this lunch was with friends dine-in. Staff was warm, friendly and attentive. Notably clean...as a sushi place should be. Many non-sushi dishes on the menu. Open daily, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed plate of Spicy Edamame and appetizer of Veggie Gyoza (5 pieces) with dipping sauce. Starter was a nicely chilled martini. I counted 12 brewskies on tap...something for everyone. 16 ozs pours. Enjoyed entrees of 12-piece Sashimi served with small ginger dressing house salad and miso soup, and Thai Massaman Curry (with coconut milk, onions, carrots, and potatoes topped with peanuts). Would order both again. Tip: Ask for metal chop sticks to replace the usual wooden) Overall, a delightful lunch and will return.

Wanted to love it but it fell flat. We ordered take out and the portion sizes were good. But the tom kha soup was mostly coconut and didn't have any depth of flavor. We ordered this as pick up and just generally did not like any of the flavors. We got the orange chicken. The orange sauce was separate which I appreciate because it keeps the food from getting all soggy but it was terrible. Like they failed to cut the acidity at all or it was rancid. It was way too much. The broccoli was done right so I guess there is that. The fried rice all tasted the same. No variety just one mushy of meaty flavor. The egg rolls was the best thing we had from there... Im sad to say everything was kind of disappointing. I'm usually pretty easy to please but... I'd recommend another Thai place tbh

This place was really good - phenomenal crab fried rice. We had to ask for a waiter after about 10 minutes which was slight frustrating. The atmosphere is really cool, with ample seating. The food was out within minutes and was hot and fresh, obviously fresh ingredients. Definitely will be back!

    Pork Tonkotsu Ramen

Although my service was fine this is what the restaurant called a pork tonkotsu ramen. Now if you have eyes you can see this is uncooked chicken with boiled eggs I've never been so disappointed in any ramen before. But this was so far left from the pork tonkotsu advertised on there menu and yes I sent it back.

very nice food both Japanese and Thai, typical Japanese. recommence Sashimi on the brown rice - really healthy and tasty.

    Curry duck

The food here was amazing and honestly worth much more than the price. You get a large portion of duck which leaves room for leftovers. We had the satay chicken and calamari appetizers, caramel duck and curry duck dinners.

    Desert Pear Lemon Drop

Service is nice, but a little slow. Food and drinks are very good and fresh, so it makes up for how long it takes. Did not like the condition of the seats, they were very worn looking.

Dec. 28, 2023 Came with the family and honestly, the food came out pretty quick. Great customer services, always checking up on us, and refilling our drinks. Love that! Can't complain about anything and the food was amazing! Definitely a 10/10 recommend. Here is what we ordered: - Agedashi Tofu - Chicken Pad Thai - Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage - Kid's Lo Mein - Volcano Roll, Vegetable Roll, Sweet Potato Roll, and Avocado Roll

Sushi- This is the Tennessee Roll with some Wasabi and Ginger. Nice flavor. ( 7.7/10 )

I've eaten here quite a few times over the years. It's been consistently very good. I believe they have a few more restaurants in different locations. I have only visited the Mt. Juliet location. They make the Sushi in the front of the house where you can see the chef's prepare it. The interior is fresh and clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. You might have questions about the menu because the menu is divided between Thai dishes and Japanese dishes. I recommend that you look at the menu online before you go and kinda get an idea of what you want to eat. The food comes out in a timely manner. I have liked everything I have tried there and it's always fresh and tasty. They have a full bar and there is plenty of free parking. Enjoy !!

Honestly, the best sushi and Thai in Tennessee. We've been searching for a new spot, and thank gosh we found it. Owner and chefs are incredibly friendly. Service was quick and food was borderline artistic. My delicious roll came with a flower. Fiancée and I are headed back there tonight for a date night. We can't get enough. We Recommend the red curry as well.

If you walk into a restaurant at 7pm on a Wednesday night and the place is fully packed and there…read moreare people waiting behind you to be sat, you KNOW you made the right decision to go there. We were greeted nicely by the hostess and waited roughly 5 minutes for a table to open up. A family of five came in right after us and decided to sit at the bar to eat. I knew in my heart that this was the best place to go to for my husband's birthday dinner. We sat on some barstools while we waited, discussing the hockey game playing on the tv behind the bar. I loved the low ambient lighting that spread across the ceiling. Our waitress was nice but she never gave us her name so I unfortunately can't shout her out. She gave us recommendations so I ended up taking one of hers. Now, if you have read my Thai restaurant reviews, you know by now that I judge a Thai restaurant by ordering their Pad Thai the first visit, however, I broke that rule because I just KNEW this place was going to be good. We ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken, Pad Kee Mao with chicken, I ordered the Khao Soi Gai (it comes with chicken, no substitutions), and one Thai iced tea. You guys. When the Tom Kha soup touched my lips, I was SO excited to get the main course! It was made PERFECTLY. I haven't had true Tom Kha since probably when I lived in California over a decade ago. The Thai tea was strong and delicious, exactly how it should be made. The Khao Soi Gai...that first sip of the curry broth nearly made me go Meg Ryan-mode in the restaurant. If you know, you know. "I'll have what she's having!" Our waitress recommended this dish and I'm so glad I was adventurous and tried something different outside of my "I'll judge you based off of your Pad Thai" attitude. It was perfect and when I say perfect, I didn't even add lime juice to it because I didn't want to mess anything up with the flavor profile. Sure, lime could have added another element to the dish but when I say it was perfect the way it was, it's true. The night at Smiley would have ended perfectly if it weren't for the miserable couple who sat beside us discussing how unhappy they were in their marriage and decided to accept the waitstaff into their broken marriage by being completely rude. But the staff remained professional and kind through it all and I give them HUGE props for that because I was a moment away from telling that wretched couple off. In short, the staff here are wonderful, and the food is memorable, delectable, delicious, perfect...it's HEAVEN. We will DEFINITELY be back to try other menu items!

This is one of the rare times the Yelp reviews don't live up to my expectations. I'm giving 4 stars…read morebecause the staff was so friendly and kind, and I don't want to trash a small business. This is a no-frills, smaller restaurant inside a strip of stores in a questionable-looking area of town. As I parked the car, I thought twice about actually going in, but based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to give it a try. It was clean inside, and, as I mentioned, the service and staff were 5-star! My food was where it went wrong for me. I started with the summer rolls (the ones in rice paper); they serve sushi and Thai food here. I have been craving summer rolls; I love the freshness of the mint and herbs, combined with crunchy peanuts and peanut sauce. However, that fell short for me here. The peanut sauce was reddish and tasted more like ketchup, so that was a letdown. No little peanuts anywhere in the sauce or on the plate. It was jam-packed with iceberg lettuce, which you would typically put on a Taco, so it wasn't very fresh-tasting, and it contained the tiniest piece of shrimp I've ever seen inside. Following my gut, I decided not to order my usual sushi selection, which is always raw, unfried, and unsauced. However, I decided to play it safe, so I opted for a Mexican roll instead. I asked for no eel sauce, but I should have also specified that I wanted spicy mayo on the side. It covered my roll, and I had to use a napkin to remove what I could. This is usually a roll that is around $6 to $10, but for some reason, they were charging $14. They made the rolls bigger, but not by filling them with more shrimp, avocado, etc.; instead, they added more rice. This may be someone's cup of tea, but it wasn't mine, and I won't be back, but wish them the best!

The decision came down to Hai Woon Dai, which is close, and King Market. As I wanted a few things from the market, King won the day. I have heard great things about the food here and it did not disappoint. The red curry was one of the best I ahve had and I even asked what coconut milk they used so I could get a can to make some Thai food at home. I will get back and try some Laotian dishes next time. The atmosphere is like a restaurant in a store. Oh, wait, it is a restaurant in a store. But I wasn't here for the ambiance. I was here for the food. The benefit of being in a market is you can grab Asian items for home, including some fruits and vegetables you won't find at your local Kroger. I included the menu, so you can see how reasonable the prices are. I will also state the portions are good for the price. As for the market, there is a nice selection of items from Asia or used in Asian dishes. I also found some interesting snack items, including versions of lays potato chips I have never seen in a US based grocery. I usually hit K&S, so need to compare prices, as both of these are about equi-distant to where I lived right now (although 24 is more of a pain than 40 west). Kudos to a great experience.
