My best friend and I moved out to the Belle Meade area recently and didn't know many places around yet. We were still in the throes of unpacking, and so we decided to try this place out as it wasn't far from home and had great reviews. As my best mate, his wife, and I were seated at a table, 2 small cockroaches came out from under the table cloth and skittered right across the table top. My mate and I were the only ones to notice. We locked eyes, nodded, and we immediately left. Now, I'm not a squeamish person. But if you know anything about roaches, you know that for those two to be foraging UNDER the table cloth on top of a table in the dining room, that they know they belong there; that is their home. I can forgive a lot of stuff I probably shouldn't, but I won't forgive what is a pretty clear sign of how the back of house is maintained. read more

Best sushi and Thai food! I have tried several dishes here, but their Pad Thai is the best!! Be aware that if you ask for 5 in spicy, you are in for a surprise. The native spice I can take, but sometimes it can get really spicy and can be too much to handle! If you like spicy, I would go for a 3, unless you think you can handle it! read more

I will not be returning to eat here no matter how close it is to my house. My husband and I have eaten here twice. The first time I thought, "eh, it's okay." The second time we went, this past Sunday, I decided I will never be going back. A cockroach scurried across the window next to us, and all the staff did was move us to another table 6 feet away. I was so disgusted after that that I did not eat anything else. When we left, they did not act apologetic, give a discount, or anything. The customer service was terrible. I won't be going back. This place is quite delicious. They get a Solid 4 in my book. They have a wide variety ranging from Thai curries to Sushi. The only downside is the price... Regardless to what I get, I end up spending about $17 on average for one person. It's a great place and delicious healthy options but just a little pricey for the type of establishment it is. read more

Lemongrass is a good backup place to go if you have a hankering for sushi, but can't get to your regular spot. i have had most of their sushi rolls, and it's usually pretty consistently good. The spring rolls are good too. Service can be slow, so be prepared to be here a while. They close at 2pm and reopen at 5pm, so keep that in mind when heading this way for food late in the afternoon. If you're coming with kids, it's relatively kid friendly. They do have stuff they'd eat like fried rice (and they can minus the veggies for picky eaters) and noodles... read more

Their coconut soup is absolutely phenomenal! However, the crab Rangoon was so unfortunate that I couldn't even finish the piece that I had bitten into. The peanut sauce is good, though they're pretty skimpy with it. The service is always pretty bad. They're slow and clearly uninterested in their guests' happiness. After being seated, it took almost 10 minutes to be greeted and have our drink orders taken. They were not busy, besides ourselves, there were only two other occupied tables in the entire restaurant. Also, I don't know if they're completely aware that their comments are rude and borderline mean..but there's been several occasions where an employee has commented on my hair or something unrelated to the subject at hand. I'm not offended most of the time because I'm too focused on getting my grub, but I wish they'd keep their opinions to themselves. I had been here several times before and it was perfect! They recently came under new management and the service went downhill fast. I went in for a quick lunch and it took 45 minutes for the food to come out (1/4 of the restaurant was full) and then another 30 to try and find our waitress for the check. I heard the table behind us complain because they "forgot" to input one of their orders and never offered to bring anything else for them. It seemed as if they had only 1 server working, and when I asked menu questions from the server, she said "I don't know the menu that well." Ate there last week and got the chicken green curry. It was tasty but I asked for it 5 stars. It wasn't very spicy at all. I asked for extra rice and they brought it and didn't charge me for it it. This week, I ordered the chicken green curry and asked for it "native Thai". It was exactly the same as last week. And this time, when I asked for extra rice, I received it but wasn't told that I would be charged an extra dollar. The waiter said when I mentioned it upon checking out, "I'm just doing my job". Fair enough. I also told him when paying that the food wasn't very spicy and reminded him that I had asked for it that way. He said, "I'll make sure that it's spicy next time". Well, I'm afraid there won't be a next time. First of all, they don't seem to communicate with the kitchen, or the kitchen just doesn't believe you when you say you want it very spicy. Also, if you are going to charge extra for something, you need to tell the guest. I know. I'm in the restaurant business myself. Also, the waiter wasn't particularly welcoming. He wasn't rude or anything, but frankly, he wasn't very friendly. Last week, it was the opposite. I felt welcomed, even though I was there at lunch closing time. Last time, I just got the green curry and spent $9 and left $3. This time, I got spring rolls as well and spent $13 (including the extra rice). I left $2. I've eaten here twice, once for Thai and the sushi. For my Thai night out, I ordered miso soup and pad thai. The soup had a good flavor albeit a touch watered down. I ordered my pad thai spicy hot with shrimp and chicken, and wasn't disappointed. It wasn't Thai nuclear spicy, but the chef certainly wasn't light handed with the the spices. Temperature wise, it was scorchingly hot which seems to be a common theme with pad thai. It was a very good dish with lots of flavor, zest, and spiciness that I always appreciate. It was a satisfying meal. The next visit, I had sushi. I got an unagi roll, volcano roll, and spicy crab roll. The volcano and spicy crab rolls were excellent with great presentation and flavor. The unagi roll was alright - I think next time I will get unagi 'Sushi a la Carte' as the roll (six pieces) didn't blow my socks off. The meal was satisfying, although with sushi I always feel like I could eat more (and more, and more...). I would certainly suggest this restaurant to anybody who lives in the Bellevue area. I look forward to going again. The food is great and the prices seem reasonable to me. The restaurant has good atmosphere. The wait staff are neutral in their attentiveness - not incessantly hounding nor totally ignoring the customers. read more

No idea why Lemongrass has 4 $$$$. A few items on the extensive menu are pricey ($28ish for a lobster dish?? Unless I missed something extremely expensive on the menu), but everything else is competitively priced. I'd give it 2 $$ instead of 4. The service is impeccable! Everyone is very friendly. Attentive, yet not overbearing. If you like cold sake, try the pineapple flavored! Nice selection of reasonably priced wines by the glass and bottle. Panang curry (chicken-$12 for dinner, breakfast and lunch tomorrow!) is WONDERFUL!!! I ordered it level 3 spicy and it's perfect (1-5 and then "thai spicy"- tried that...ONCE)...I like it pretty hot, but not so hot I've lost all feeling of my tongue on first bite! If any server ever allows you to order Thai hot without questioning your decision, you have pissed off the gods somehow! I go here way too often! I'm obsessed with Thai food so when I first moved to the area, I just had to give it a try. My first meal from here was their Pad Thai and though I've had better (I'm a pad Thai snob) it was delicious nonetheless. I've since then had their sushi countless amounts of times and their teriyaki salmon, Thai iced too and various desserts (the fried cheesecake is my fave OMG YUM!) The food here is actually pretty good and the presentation is nice HOWEVER...... My son and I went to Lemongrass two nights ago. Our service was very slow even though the restaurant had very few customers. When we were about 2/3 of the way finished with our meal, a ROACH ran across our table!!! We quietly got our server's attention and told him what had happened. He just shook his head and went over to get something to capture the roach with. Once this was done, he asked if we wanted our food boxed and we told him no thanks and that we were finished. He went to his manager and came back and said they would take the beverages and one meal off of our check. I was so stunned I just said okay and paid. Looking back I do not think we should have been charged at all for this meal and the manager and server should have apologized for this. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!! read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked through the door here - it was much nicer than I had expected. The staff were properly dressed and quite attentive. The food was quite tasty. I ordered sushi that was pretty good, but if I went back I'd stick to the entrees. The Tom Kha soup was delicious as was the curry I had. I really was happy with my experience here. Well, another dining travesty in Bellevue. Tonight it was Lemongrass. After kind of a long wait for the food, which was okay, it's not fast food, they committed the cardinal culinary sin, in that my wife and I were on different schedules. They brought out our dishes, her's was right and mine was the wrong dish. So now I'm waiting about another 10 minutes for my food, she's trying to eat her's very slowly, though it's getting cold. Mine comes as she's finishing her dinner off. Check comes and Uncle Ho charges me for the original dish, telling me they were the same price. No, adding insult to injury, he overcharged me. With reservations for a party of 9 one would think they would be prepared. We were sat with only one person having a menu. We of course, had to ask for 8 more. One child's order came out before anything else. By the time the other entrees arrive he was almost finished eating. The entrees were brought out at different times and 3 were not hot (2 Pad Thai and 1 Sam Rod). The Sam Rod was sweet, not hot, not spicy. I asked to replace it with something else and the manager REFUSED. I was embarrassed that I even brought my family to this restaurant. The server was nice enough to bring a sushi roll however would not remove the cost of the Sam Rod from our bill. In short, the food was not hot, the Sam Rod was not spicy but, sweet and the entrees were brought out individually. The manager refusing to replace the Sam Rod and remove it from the bill was infuriating. We will not be returning. Over $180.00 for a negative experience. read more

Our server kept insinuating that we needed to leave because they were closing and they kept coming to our table and dropping not so subtle hints about us leaving, my friend and I were having a conversation before during and after our meal what was so bad about that. There were other patrons in the restaurant of another race and it didn't seem like it was a problem for them to stay and chat as we were. I will NEVER come back to this place. Came here after a super long day of moving, school and work. We were exhausted, starving and, well, starving. Lemongrass did not disappoint. I had the fried rice with pineapple and it was really delightful. A lot of fried rice isn't flavorful enough and I find myself dousing it with soy sauce, but that was not the case here.
