A lovely surprise- had to drop a package at UPS and took a chance on this unprepossesing restaurant in the strip mall. I ordered the lunch special. My two choices were red curry with crispy tofu and green curry with chicken. Both really were delicious. It came with a small salad with a Japanese style carrot dressing and a tiny little fried roll. My only caveat is the salad vegs could have been a bit better. The dressing was good, and I tried a beer from Laos for the first time. Service was very friendly and the place was clean. Definitely recommend a stop here. And after lunch I discovered there was a Grocery Outlet right across the street! read more

Had delivery for dinner. It was outstanding, very flavorful and quite a good amount of serving sizes for each dish. The food comes hot, delivered by a very kind and courteous man. Tasty and authentic Thai food. As other reviewers have noted, the portions are just a tad skimpy especially if you eat family style. There wasn't enough rice. If they offered more rice, the skimpy complaints would die down. We had curry left over with no rice. Since they charge for rice, one is reluctant to ask for more. There is a great new Thai restaurant in Cloverdale. Thai Spice just opened in the old Star and then Josie's Restaurant location. The space has been extensively remodeled, and is much more appealing than the previous restaurants in this location. The kitchen has also been thoroughly updated.The proprietors are Nong and Ken French. The food is absolutely superb. I had the Pumpkin Curry with Chicken ($ 8.95) and a Thai ice tea. My wife had the dumpling appetizer ($6.95) which were truly memorable Having previously owned two Thai restaurants I know good Thai food when I find it. The prices are also exceedingly modest, especially when considering the quality of the food. Lunches are typically $9 and dinners run $12 to $15. Great food and friendly service, though the service seemed a bit harried at times (took quite a bit of time to get a water refill after asking despite the restaurant not being full, took a while to get the check) with primarily only one waitress when I came in. They have some nice lunch specials and a delicious green papaya salad. Overall, a clean and delicious spot just off 101.....much better than fast food options nearby. Food came out quickly and was delicious and of good quality. Just a few tiny things to finesse if they want to improve. The salmon was cooked beautifully with some crispy edges. The green curry that it came with was yummy with the fish & rice. I love green curry anything. I could eat this every day. I know they cook the food fresh because I asked for no fish sauce on anything, and they actually listened. the only reason why i'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the delivery time was pretty long. I'm literally right down the street from them, so it shouldn't have taken that long, but i understand. they seem new to the delivery world. i will deffff be taking my husband there to explore the menu. read more

We were passing through town and stopped for lunch. This place is very clean with friendly service. We had green tea (very good!), papaya salad (tasted really fresh!), pumpkin curry and pad kee mao. I've been to Thailand and this restaurant is authentic! We ordered the mango salad, which was fresh and delicious, pumpkin curry which was very flavorful, eggplant with soft tofu, and pad see ew! For dessert, we had the mango and sticky rice which was on point! The mango was sweet and soft and the rice had just the right amount sweetness. We also ordered the Thai ice tea which was the right blend of sweetness and tea. This is a hidden gem, I wish there was a location in San Francisco! We will definitely be back.
