Shockoe Bottom Roll
June T.

Wife and I happened to stroll in for dinner. Customer service was good. We ordered the soft shell crab pad Thai and the shockoe bottom roll. Pad Thai was pretty good, same goes with the soft shell crab. I wished the soft shell crab was stir fried in with the pad thai but it was still good. Shockoe bottom roll was pretty good as well, I destroyed majority of it. Pretty big portions for sushi pieces. Definitely looking forward to our return to get something different.

Siam Lo Mein with tofu

Dined in for a quick weeknight dinner and am very satisfied with the quality of the food and service. My order came out steaming hot and in a sizable portion considering the price. I came in at the tail end of happy hour so decided to indulge in a cocktail. The thai tea tini was a delicious dessert drink!

It's so hard for me to choose which location to visit but when I want sushi, I come to this one! The sushi's is freshly made and so good! It's not chewy like I've had at some places, it's almost perfect! Of course the food is amazing as usual, I got the drunken noodles with pork. And the margarita...... yessss!!!

I leave happy and with a full belly every time I come here. This place has held many great memories for me over the years and the service has mostly stayed the same - fast, friendly, and attentive. It's clean and cozy inside with plenty of space for smaller or larger groups. Definitely stop by if you can!

Sweet and Sour soup with only 3 tofu.

When walking in I was greeted by two people, the hostess and the man behind the bar. The man smiled and said hello but the hostess just started at my blankly and made me feel stupid for asking questions about the menu. Something in my gut told me to peak at the menu and leave but I unfortunately went against it. I would recommend other Thai spots before this one. I was craving some Thai but I just didn't hit the spot for me. I guess the $17 I spent on the so called "lunch special" was okay. I ordered the Red Curry, it came with a sweet and sour soup. The little cup of soup I had, had the most flavor almost too much so I added it to my flavorless curry but as you can see there's only 3 pieces of tofu in it. As for the red curry, it was in one of those small takeout containers and waaaay more rice than actual food. The food isn't bad it's just not as flavorful and makes me wish I chose a different place for lunch, especially for the price. That's the biggest factor for me. Overall it's a beautiful restaurant. I'm just not happy with my experience but good luck and happy eating!

Crispy Veggie Spring Roll

We came to Mom's Siam 2 after shamrock, and it was so good!!! It was pretty cold by the evening, so a bowl of rice and warm curry was the perfect thing to eat. Our server suggested this curry and it was so yummy - it had potatoes, veggies, and tofu. There were so many vegetarian options so it made me very happy! The food was out pretty quickly despite how crowded it was. We had no wait either, we were seated promptly. My only complaint was the water in the bathroom was really hot so just be careful when using the bathroom sink.

I came here for lunch. The curry was amazing! Everything came out hot and fresh. I enjoyed my Thai tea as well. The salad wasn't great and I usually enjoy the salad with ginger dressings. Would definitely recommend!

Quick | Affordable | Portions Quick - Monica and I, met two of my high school friends for lunch on a Wednesday. We got a seat right away and received service right away. It was relatively busy but not outrageous. Affordable - The prices are all extremely affordable given its location in the city. I had the chicken teriyaki with broccoli and rice. It was $15 with tax a tip. Portions - come prepared with an appetite. I had lunch with my friends at noon and didn't need anything but a few snacks for the rest of the day. Overall, I highly recommend this location. Pro Tip 1 - There is a public parking lot half a block away. It is a very busy part of downtown, so plan for about 5-7 minutes of riding around if you want street parking. I would just bite the bullet and either uber over or use the parking lot.

Basil Chicken

My server was sooo nice and attentive. It was pretty empty when I went around 5:00pm on Saturday which was interesting because their happy hour is from 4-7 Monday-Saturday. Basil chicken was so yummy and flavorful and my Moscow mule was great.

Pork was on point and crispy with a sauce that was perfect. Staff were very polite and speedy, the room had plenty of room and very accommodating. We will be back for sure when in Richmond.

We live in walking distance so tend to walk over. There is free street parking nearby if you do drive. It's also a great takeout spot. Their pad Thai is pretty good, but I like their pad see ew the best for noodles. When we've gone, we've eaten inside, but it seems like they have a beautiful patio in the back. The service can feel a little slow if you're in a rush. If you're doing takeout you go upstairs to grab your order. If you want to dine in, you go down to the left. On a recent trip, I tried their salmon curry and it was incredible. I highly recommend ordering this wholesome and delicious dish. This is a wonderful spot for Thai food.

Parking is available on the side, or you can usually find street parking nearby. I really liked the industrial atmosphere, especially the swings, but we ended up sitting closer to the bar area. Pad Thai - 4/5 The flavors and spice level were balanced really well. Pla Muk Tod (Calamari) - 4/5 Good overall, but I wasn't a big fan of the dipping sauce. Pik Gai Tod (Wings) - 4/5 Flavorful and really good. Moo Sam Chan (Fried Pork Belly) - 4/5 Tasty and flavorful, though a little over-sauced for my preference. I noticed a discrepancy between the amount on my receipt and what was actually charged to my card. It may have only been a small difference, but that's not acceptable under any circumstance. A dollar here or there adds up, and it raises real concerns when it appears to be a pattern. I had intentionally left a cash tip to ensure it went directly to my server, not through the business. Fortunately, I kept my receipt after hearing about similar situations happening before. When my statement came in, the charge didn't match. I called the restaurant to resolve the issue, and the floor manager said someone from management or accounting would follow up. Over a week later, I never received a call. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank. What should have been a nice Friday night dinner ended on a frustrating note. Unfortunately, that's what made the experience memorable--and not in a good way.

Chicken Bangcock never disappoints and the portion size for all their entrees is a value. Perhaps the finest item on the menu is the Chicken Pad Se Ew with flat noodles and Chinese broccoli. The first time I had it, Unicorns danced around my mouth and giggled. The dude behind the bar is a bad a$$ and makes all kind of dope drinks. I would like it if he wore a velvet cape and cowboy hat while he waits on customers. In fact, the management should consider mandatory cowboy hats for all staff members working dinner service. Ask the barkeep to pour you a triple shot of "tortilla" with a lime wedge and your life will be changed forever- all your wishes will come true and you will no doubt end up in a drunken stupor talking to the broken ATM machine that perpetually sits next to the bar.

My tech lead said this is her go-to Thai restaurant whenever she's in the area, and I was curious to try. The interior has no frills, which is fine with me. As long as the food is good, I don't really care. PAD SEE EW - 16.99 +chicken, wide noodles, and Chinese broccoli This is my go-to basic Thai order if I don't know what else to get. The pad see ew had a good "wok hay" flavor and the sauce was perfectly savory with a bit of sweetness. The wide noodles could have been a bit more chewy (felt like they were a bit overcooked). The entree lacked egg, Chinese, broccoli, and chicken as it was mostly noodles. I felt a bit ripped off. The portion sizes were large so most of us had leftovers for another meal. Personally, I would rather have more toppings other than carbs with a smaller portion. Overall, 3.5/5.
