A truly great place. I travel all across the country, but I rarely find a Thai place that can compete with Thai Square. I love the khao soi, the beef massamun curry, and anything with shrimp is reliably awesome here. I will say that the Pad Thai is good, but there are far better options here. read more

Oh my goodness! I don't even know where to start. Wait....YES I do! I highly recommend this place. I love how small and kind of cozy it is in the inside. The food was awesome! For the apps we had the veggie spring rolls and I asked for the peanut sauce instead of the sweet and sour sauce that came with it. I also had the Tom Kha soup with Tofu. All I can say is I devoured this soup it was so freaking good! For our entrees I had the Vegan Pad Thai (ask them to cook it according to your liking) with veggies and tofu. My wife had the Pad Thai med spicy with chicken. We had enough to take home for later. For drinks, I had the coconut juice which was to die for! Big coconut meat was in it and was just as deeeelish! This happens to be one of me and my boyfriend's favorite thai places in Denton out of all the options. In comparison to Thai Ocha, we would usually choose this place for our favorite dessert which is their green tea ice cream and the chocolate lava cake. We also get a scoop of Thai tea ice cream in addition. Their pad Thai and yellow curry are our personal favorites. The food is definitely a nice quality, but we didn't give it the full 5 stars because we feel it's a little understaffed so it's hard to get the servers' attention. The service could be a little better, but overall this would be a great place for Thai food especially in the awesome area like the square! read more

I'm going to struggle to have something positive to say about our experience here the other night. It was last Wednesday and fairly early so none of that accounts for the weird, bad service and attitudes of the staff. We arrived and every table was full. Okay, np I get you have to wait. One table was empty with 2 small plates on it so we waited and watched the 3 servers talk and do stuff behind the counter. Finally a server waves us up to the counter and says "Yes?" I said well we'd like to sit and eat. She said it'll be around a 30 minute wait and then I can call your phone. Now this restaurant is tiny and I'm 8 feet from you. So I say "well there's a table over there, is that someone's or could we have that?" She then said "Well give me about 25-30 minutes to clean it and I'll call you." 30 MINUTES TO BUS A TABLE WITH 2 TINY PLATES ON IT?! I worked in the industry for years-that's ridiculous. So I gave her my number and then my husband pointed something out-there were maybe 10 tables in the entire place-only 2 had drinks and none had food. AND the waiters were literally standing in the back talking. I saw the one who took our name spill soda on her tray and when she went by, the three the ice and soda on the floor towards the kitchen-in full view of everyone. They all started looking at each other because it was bizarre. We left and went to Hannah's down the street and had the most FANTASTIC service we've had in years. Delicious food in a nice romantic garden. She called my phone to say my table was ready 27 minutes later. Avoid and go to Thai Ocha off University Drive. Great wait staff and food. read more

The food is fantastic, one of the best pad Thai I've ever tasted. The first signature special is delicious, the beef tips are soft and tender. The mood is warm and relaxing with very dim lighting, perfect for a Saturday night date. The music makes the location feel more relaxed. The server is very nice and always come to check on us. Great Thai! Small quaint dining room. Not fancy, but still cool vibe. The hit here is the food. Service is a bit unorganized, but very friendly and I kind of expect it at chef driven, small, ethnic place. The "not so deliberate " service and decor gives the place a "local, casual, eating with friends" vibe that is cosy and friendly. The food is the real deal! The chicken fried rice is awesome! I get mine with a side of red curry and i am set! I usually have mine for 2 meals because there is just SO MUCH. For you like it to have a kick, then get it spicy (I get mine as a 3 on the scale of 1-4). I think it's pretty delicious and the red curry is very mild for anyone new to curry flavor a. The atmosphere here is good. Sometimes the waitresses are a little flustered because there's only 2 of them and they get slammed with guests- but other than that, you can't get Thai food anywhere else in Denton like you get it here! read more

My boyfriend and I were looking to try something new so we ordered the Pad Thai and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice To-Go. The woman on the phone was so friendly and very helpful in answering our questions. We went to go pick the food up and they were super speedy getting the food out to us and it was hot all the way home. And oh my goodness, that food was DELICIOUS! A very solid 4 stars. Attentive waitstaff, beautiful decor, good food. Parking can be tough but that's true for any eatery in that area. My wife and I went there for dinner. She had the pad thai and I had the coconut soup with tofu. We finished with coconut ice cream and sweet sticky rice with fresh mango. All of it good. So why the four stars. It's a personal quirk. For me to give five stars I have to leave with the feeling of I can't wait to get back. I would never turn down the suggestion of going there, because it is pleasant. Just not driving. Let's start with the good: nice restaurant, great service! We were greeted as soon as we walked in by 2 different employees. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed but well decorated. We got our drinks pretty quickly, and the food was prepared and at our table pretty fast too. The meal presentation was par for anyone's lunch menu, plus they start you off with a cup of egg drop soup, which, unfortunately was the best part of the meal. My friend ordered a beef dish which he said was just ok. I always pick a dish with which to judge a restaurant by, for instance, a Mexican restaurant I typically judge them by their enchiladas, pretty basic dish that any Mexican restaurant should be able to ace. For Thai restaurants, my dish I use as the plumb bob is Pad Thai. I don't want an enchilada OR a plate of Pad Thai that I could make better myself at home.. unfortunately for this place, their Pad Thai was sub par.. I got it "Thai hot" like I always do, which usually allows for additional flavor, but their Pad Thai was extremely bland.. even the chicken in the dish had no flavor. No tofu, and no bean sprouts either.. the restaurant overall was great, they may just need to invest in better chefs. read more

Ordered the Pad Thai with "hot" spiciness level. Perfect amount of spice for me. Tasteful with a good amount of bite, but not so much that I felt like my tastebuds were melting off my tongue. There is a "Thai Hot" level for those more adventurous types out there. Hostess and waitress did a great job - waitress even made sure our table was set up with high chairs before we were seated. The only detractor is that it's a one-room place and therefore quite loud when packed. Easy to overcome, just expect to speak up or lean across your table a bit to hear. read more

My friends never specified.). I reaally like the pad saw ew. It was a decent-sized portion and the taste reminded me of a Vietnamese dish that uses similar large, thick noodles. I've been here twice and have mixed reviews. The food is satisfying but not extremely flavorful. I got the green curry with chicken and it wasn't as rich as I expected. I come here at least once a month! Hands down my favorite Thai place in DFW. Lots of veggie options and big portion sizes! I chose to go here off of recommendations on Nextdoor. The food was pretty good but the restaurant needs a good cleaning and redoing. It just felt dirty and I was scared to touch anything in the bathroom. I was sat pretty quickly and was not given a menu so I saw the QR code and tried opening the menu, to no avail I asked for a menu and since no one came by asking for my order I asked a passer by if I could place my order because I couldn't with the internet not working and inability to place order online. She explained that the online ordering is just for to go orders and she could take the order. That was weird because no one was stopping to ask for an order. Once I got my order and one server asked how it was, I quickly asked for the check because I didn't want to be forgot about again. My order also said cost was $9.95 for chicken pad Thai on the menu but I was charged almost $15 and it was a very small order. Whatever, I was ready to go and not come back so I paid/tipped and left. Could hardly carry on a conversation with my wife sitting right next to me. I could hear peoplea conversation from the other side of the restaurant.This place needs some acoustic redesign. The floors are bare concrete, walls are almost bare and the ceiling is just plaster. They need to hang drapes or something to quiet this place down. I just wanna start off by saying this place was AMAZING, this was me and my dates first time coming here, so we weren't sure what to expect, but we ended up being very satisfied in the end. The moment I filled my mouth with the fried rice and curry my taste buds where met with an explosion of flavor, euphoric honestly. It felt like I was in an episode of food wars! The fried dumplings were good but the waitress we had seemed sullen and in a hurry (the place was not busy at all) and we thought she might have a language barrier issue. Turns out that was not the problem, as she spent a loooong time talking with animation to another group of ladies, ignoring our attempts at getting her attention to the point that we had to ask a nice blond lady to help us. Good little hole in the wall near the square. Food is very satisfying with good sized portions, price is a little above average. The inside is pretty small but nice to look at. The major issue I had with this place was the wait time for the food, had to wait almost 40 minutes for our food. Not only do they have a gluten free menu with great choices, but the food was wonderful and the service was fantastic. I had the chicken Pad Thai, which they ask how spicy you would like when ordering.
