Very good food , and I should have listen to the owner to get the large of their coconut noodle soup instead of their two mediums to go once I got home , it was 15-20 minute drive to the house... the noodles sucked up all the broth. It was still very tasty, but man. I sure was dumb as heck. I called them to apologize, and they were humble about it. They said that a lot of people doesn't listen and gives them a sour face about it. Lol a large , can be an individual soup or a shareable soup. They put the noodles and the broth separated . You can eat it anytime. Freeze the broth , they said. The noodles , you can get it at the Asian store . Only the large can be separated. The medium soup is sold as is not separate or they will charge a fee which I totally understand , because it's not same . Honestly it's so much better getting the large than the medium. Doesn't matter if you can't finish it, you can literally freeze the broth and have it any time. Don't get booty hurt if they tell you . You have to have it within 30minutes, for the medium size. And it's $7.95, for the large it's $13.95 with the noodles and broth on the side. (Now that's a better deal) . . I went to Thai Star for lunch. When I walked inside, I decided that I wanted to order food to-go. The staff did get me a water while I waited, which was nice, but the whole interaction was awkward, as if they never had someone come in and order food to-go before. It was dark and dreary and empty inside. There were tables everywhere for seating. I ordered the Thai Red Curry with vegetables. Food was just ok. This spot is off my beaten path, but I am glad someone reminded me of it so I could visit again. The inside is very bland and plain with little ambiance, but don't let that deter you. Service was quick, helpful, and attentive. I got the House Curry and it was WONDERFUL! Sweet and savory and very peanutty with lots of fresh vegetables. Service was informative and pleasant but could be more attentive to details like beverages during the meal service. The dining room is clean and casual. Thai art (I assume) on the walls but placed in a very simple white wall space. The kitchen was not high speed, but for me that equates to food not from the freezer. We were in the neighborhood, and we saw Thai Star, so we decided to stop in for dinner. Boy, were we impressed. First, our server, Monique, was exceptional. Second, the restaurant was clean and inviting. Third, the food is excellent. I lived in Los Angeles most of my life where there are, many great Thai restaurants. I think this is the best Thai restaurant I've been to in Southwest Florida. We ordered Tom Kha Gai, which was very flavorful. They control the heat/spice level very well here, btw. The Thai iced tea was excellent, as well as the Pad Thai and the Massaman Curry. Total cost was about $50. Portions were large and the ingredients seemed very fresh. Tamarind based pad thai with accompanying coconut soup for lunch is my favorite dine in. My wife prefers the red curry at mild spice level and eaten family style. This doesn't look like much when you're walking by but it is a small family style, clean Thai restaurant. I have been here two different occasions and have not been disappointed and will continue to come back. During our first visit my husband and I tried the Thai iced tea which was delicious, I tried the chicken pad Thai, my husband had the combination fried rice and it was all very good. We came back for a second visit and I also tried some hot green tea, some spring rolls and the drunken noodles. One of my favorite Thai dishes is Drunken Noodles and Thai Star's Drunken Noodles is delicious!!! I got it with chicken, added carrots and got level 3 out of 5 spice level, which had a good kick/spice to it (I like spicy) but not over-powering. Great flavor! Also, the chicken House Fried Rice was very good too! LARGE portions for both, many leftovers :) Definitely recommend this place, which is our new go-to Thai place in town. Ordered the beef pho and chicken spring rolls. I hardly got any beef, the beef I did get was so tough, none of the sauces came with it (sriracha & plum/hoisin sauce) and the noodles were sitting in water and were mushy when it arrived. The spring rolls were over fried and when I called to complain they didn't care and said that they don't serve anything with the pho other than the noodles and that's how much beef they put in it. I just picked up my food for takeout. Massaman curry with chicken, green curry with chicken, and pad Thai with chicken. This review is only for the customer service experience. I have no idea how the food tastes yet. First, I think $13 for pad Thai is is a little on the pricey side. The other items seem to be a little pricey as well $16 for massaman curry? I asked that they would not use Styrofoam to package my hot food in. They did not argue with me, however, when the girl brought my food out she made sure to let me know that the plastic containers are expensive but for me they did it. Just knowing that the owner had his employee tell a customer that just paid $60 for takeout that the .50 cent container is expensive has me wondering about the food and whether I would return. read more

Here is my 2 cents on the food. The thai ice tea was great sweet & tasty. I had beef Drunken Noodle and spring rolls. Fist the spring rolls. They should have been brought first,. instead of arriving at the same time of the entree. Plus at 5 bucks they should be bigger and more items inside. And there was only 2. They were hot and crispy but just cabbage inside. Tasted good though. The soup serve was very good but it should have been more hot. Temperature wise that is. They had a 0-5 rating of heat I ask for the 5 plus. IT WAS NOT. It barely got my attention. WHERE was the BEEF. Hardly any. 6-7 pieces. PLUS they were VERY tough. I was not impress. It tasted fine but all the issues I mention really brought it down. Now Chit Chat. It is in a good area near a medical facility prices seem fair BUT there are 2-3 other better Thai places.
