Delicious cucumber salad I drank the juice!

I got takeout of a Thai iced tea and cucumber salad and it was really delicious. I'm happy that I went there for that. The service was quick, but I can't speak to the ambience because we got takeout.

Its the only Thai restaurant we found that was open late so we went for it. We were in town and overnight stay Appearance - lacking in everything I'm used to seeing in a Thai restaurant. It needs a lot of love but it had the need, clean tables and chairs and a menu :) Food: Eggs rolls, drunken noodles, crab fried rice and chicken larb Presentation: Simple Portion: Decent Taste: Mid Nothing really stood out on any of the dishes other than it came our fresh and hot. We wanted to really liked it, it served the purpose of filling our empty stomach and we were happy with that. This is a family run business and I love supporting such so I have no regret giving them my business. The hostess/server was really sweet and attentive. An older man with white hair came to check in on us a fee times, filled our water.

Thai Stick has been our regular spot for Thai Food for over a decade now. Although there are other Thai restaurants closer to our house, we haven't strayed much from this place much at all. Prior to Covid, Thai Stick used to stay open late, sometimes after midnight, especially during the weekends. Their late-night hours likely had a big influence on our loyalty to the restaurant. The food, too, of course. Our favourites are: LARB CHICKEN ($13.95) - Tangy, bright, and yummy. Wish that it had rice powder for a slight crunch in texture and roasted fragrance, a bit more mint, and whole lettuce leaves to eat in cups. THAI STICK SALAD (with no BBQ Chicken for $10.95) - LOVE this salad, but often need to order extra dressing/Peanut Sauce ($3.00) because the serving is generous. YELLOW CURRY (with Chicken for $17.95) - Creamy deliciousness. PUMPKIN CURRY (with Vegetables or Chicken for $17.95) - DJ's go-to curry because he loves pumpkin. GARLIC & PEPPER Beef ($17.95) - Very flavourful, goes perfectly well with steamed white rice. PAD THAI (with Chicken for $16.95) - Of all the Thai noodle dishes, Pad Thai is DJ's #1. Thai Stick's version is not bad, but I have had tastier at other places. Sweet Sticky Rice & Mango ($9.00) - The mango is always very soft. Roti (Thai Sweet Pan Cake, $5.00) - A simple, but delightful dessert. Thai Ice Tea ($3.00) - What is a Thai meal without Thai Ice Tea? Order it here, you won't be disappointed. As for the venue, the place would benefit from a good cleaning and maybe even a renovation. The building is run-down with carpet coming undone at wall edges, filthy window sills, dirty baseboards, chipped paint, etc. The women's restroom is surprisingly clean, but the hallway that leads to the bathrooms is like a storage space with cardboard boxes of supplies stacked against the wall. Service is nice, though, even when ordering to go. At our last take-out order, we were given a complimentary order of Roti. During that same visit, I saw a table sitting with their little Yorkshire Terrier at the table. So happy to see that Thai Stick is dog friendly, even indoors!

I've been loving the food at this place since 2008. Candidly, I tend to stick to the same items, but the food has been consistent in my intermittent visits. It's not overly glamorous in here, but I'm not there for the decor. I just want a satisfying meal. I have noticed less people in here lately as the stores around expand and change. It makes me sad to see this place a little quieter these days - but the service is just as nice and friendly as ever. I hope to keep coming back for my classic go-to meal.

Our second time here and the food was good again. The gai yang was so good with the chicken so tender. The rock cod fish with the sweet tamarind sauce was exquisite, and the texture of the fried fish with something that taste like bread crumbs was just so good to bite into. Service was great, good vibe, I like how they open late and accommodating for late nights from the airport. The owner is also always a pleasure to talk to, a charming, sharp and jovial fellow who has been in this business for 40 or so years!

First time trying and so glad I did. Been looking for yellow curry similar to Osha Thai in SF and this was similar. Egg rolls & Thai iced tea were pretty good. Friend got spicy drunken noodles and boy it was she liked it! It was almost noon and surprised it wasn't crowded yet perhaps because it was raining. The lady was friendly and attentive. Had cute golden statues & couple tvs.

Thai Stick is an amazing restaurant in downtown Millbrae, just off the exit from SFO airport! When you walk into this restaurant, you feel like it's more of a home feeling as you're immediately greeted by staff and seated with a friendly smile. The place is simple, but the food is soo good! I've been here many times and the food never disappoints. My favourite is the minced chicken, Thai spicy hot level with a fried egg on top. My friend ordered pad see ewe noodles with beef and looked and tasted so good! When you're having your meal, staff check on you and make sure you're satisfied. The owner and cook Paul is often in the kitchen making the delicious meals, but will occasionally walk around and chat with customers. The ambiance feels more like you're having a family dinner at a home with a relaxed atmosphere and conversations with staff. The price point is where you'd expect for a good, filling meal. If you're in Millbrae, I suggest you go give it a go! Parking is street parking and fairly easy to find a spot with parking lots around.

Food was great! We had yellow chicken curry and prawns with vegetables in bean sauce. Very friendly family service. Changed TV for us to playoff game. Was quiet in the later dinner hour midweek. Nicer than typical strip mall Thai restaurant.

(Kaeng kiew wan) It's good curry. I am very picky and have given up on finding many decent curries these days. If you are a yelper that has ever said, "I ordered mild and it was too spicy", you ruined alot of good restaurants for me. Poor folks became petrified to cook like the home country anymore. I've had to beg and have deep sociological discussions just to get spicy food. I've even offered to sign a waiver If you left a bad review because you said "I like it spicy" and then your face got burned off and you're feelings were hurt, we can never be friends. If I had to pick at the curry I had tonight, the pork could have been fresher and it was just a tad too sweet. Other than that I would call it a perfect green curry.(which I seldom say these days) What got me to even try this place was the pictures on yelp showing eggplant in the green curry. It was done perfectly. I've asked for spicy in the past at other restaurants and they would simply add more curry paste, wrong answer! This changes the whole flavor profile. They didn't have a fresh chili in the whole place.(just some soaked in fish sauce) This curry had fresh thai chilies, kefir lime leaf, purple basil and just red bell pepper and eggplant. Perfect. The best curry I've ever had had fresh bamboo shoots in it but it is not Berkeley in the 90's any longer. Keep your canned shoots out of my curry. And if I have a choice of eggplant over zucchini, I'm there! They gave me some thai style crushed dry red pepper too which I have come accustomed to even when there are fresh chilies present. This curry didn't burn my face off but they did take me seriously(over the phone no less) and so I will definitely return. I hope they serve Larb as well and Pad Kra Pao. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship

It's one of my favorite items to get here since not a lot of restaurants have it. Their service is fast/good, but it could get busy during lunchtime so it could get a little slow. Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. This will be the one I continue to frequent. Well done Pho de Nguyen!

Service was impressively fast without feeling rushed however the food took awhile to come out which was a bit too long. Here's what we tried: Beef Rib Noodle Soup - The standout dish of the meal. It came with two huge, tender ribs, and the meat literally slid off the bone. The broth was clear yet rich, full of flavor, and perfect for a comforting meal. Seaweed Rice with Spam - A simple but hearty side. The portion was big, with a thick slice of Spam on top of seasoned seaweed and fluffy rice. Great for sharing or for someone who wants a filling add-on. Jajangmyeon - Very generous serving size, and the noodles were nicely chewy. The sauce was on the lighter side -- still tasty, but I personally prefer a deeper, bolder black bean flavor.
