Happy to support a local business, but this restaurant won't do well if the front staff continues with the same unpleasant attitude. Other than Jasmine, most of the waitresses come across rude or uninterested whenever we visit. We're never greeted, and the customer service feels more like an afterthought than a priority. They really need to take a course in basic hospitality and customer service--because good food only goes so far if people don't feel welcome. read more

Ambiance is lovely. Very dark and quiet. Nice place for a date. Immaculate as well. Clearly these people understand how to function in a post pandemic world. Hand sanitizer on every table and the rest room is set up perfectly to insure no cross contamination. As a healthcare worker, I ALWAYS Evaluate the restroom to give me a sense of what's happening in the kitchen. I am confident you will NEVER get sick eating here. The food was delicious as well. I didn't think I'd find the best Thai food (since moving to NC) in Morehead City, but I did! What a little gem. We ordered the spring rolls to share (6 perfect little fried rolls with vegetable filling) - crispy and yummy sauce for dipping. Our toddler had the ramen noodles (very generous amount of kids). The tofu pad thai was so simple and tasty. Don't forget to as for the spice tray to spice up the dish! The massaman curry was tasty but the pineapple threw us off as we don't normally see that as an ingredient. We ordered the sticky mango rice to go and also grabbed a bag of their Thai crisp/cookies. Yes, you would miss out if you weren't already headed here, tucked in a small strip mall of other businesses... I was greeted from the waitress behind the bar but it's a small place so I did hear her and was told sit wherever I liked... Another waitress noticed me coming from the back and came over with a menu and asked what I wanted to drink... My water was clean and cold... A look around and it there is a lot of dark wood colors including the walls and floor... It looks clean and quaint... Standard Thai dishes and there is a lunch menu just a bit smaller than the usual menu... I ordered the Pad Ka Prow and Thai fried rice... My meal was out in less than 15min and both were fresh and hot... The Prow came with a side of jasmine rice which was fluffy and hot... Impressed with the chicken being tender, sauce just the right heat (medium hot), basil, green pepper and onion strips... Delicious!! I was so full from that I have yet to try the fried rice... Eight of us had dinner at Thai Sticky Rice last evening. The waitress was average. We had to flag her down to order drinks and get refills. The food was average as well. Nothing spectacular or super yummy. However, the real issues started with our eighth person not getting their dinner until three of us were already done eating. It was at least 15 minutes behind everyone else and there was not even an apology or an offer to do anything about it. Here is the best part...the waitress included a 25% gratuity and never mentioned it. Nor was a mandatory gratuity stated in the menu or posted in the restaurant. At the bottom of the receipt, you could check to leave 18%, 20% or 22% tip but it did not say additional gratuiityl. Two persons in our party left 20%, not knowing they had already left 25%. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not be back. read more

The special board (see pic) was so interesting that I didn't even open the main menu. The Pumpkin Curry was very good. They gave the option of veggies instead of a protein which is what I did and didn't miss the protein at all. Perfect amount of heat, basil was present but not over-powering, sweet curry and the chef had a great idea with the fall time addition of buttercup squash. Only one nit-picky complaint was that the snow peas were overcooked. These are supposed to add texture/crunch to the dish. But the curry itself was so good I couldn't ding them a star on that point. The Tom-Yum Ramen was also good but took second seat to the curry for sure. Service was very good, especially considering that they are understaffed (like most places). The restaurant apparently has a big Take-out and door-dash business which was coming and going as we ate. Not necessarily distracting (even though it would be great if there was a back-door pick up for those patrons) and somehow the wait staff of two and the kitchen managed the whole dining room, door-dash and take-out orders without missing a beat at our table. Kudos to them. Very nice place right in the corner of the McQueen's shopping center. I was pleased to see that they didn't just take the strip-mall Thai place route for the ambiance, instead it was a nice mixture of high top, regular dining table and a full bar all done in dark wood with a classy appearance. I saw a picture of Thai tea and immediately wanted one. If you've had good Thai tea before... don't order this. The tea was not strong enough and there wasn't enough cream in it. I've had pretty good Thai tea before, and this one just tastes like weak-watery tea and really sugary sweetener/syrup. The Green curry was also too sweet and pretty spicy. The spicy I don't mind, but it was just too sweet for my liking. It came with a side of rice, and I asked for egg fried rice. I didn't see if there was an up charge, but there probably was. Service was good. Placed looked clean. The waitress was awesome. Portions were good. Food was mediocre. Thai food is a staple of mine, especially when I travel. I was suspicious when we pulled up at 8pm on a Saturday night and there was only one car. There was only one other family eating while we were there and no takeouts came through. The pad Thai looked like wet noodles with a side of peanuts. The drunken noodles were also wet mushy noodles with meat flavored heavily with white pepper. The red curry was perfectly spiced but lacked something. The panang curry did not have more than one vegetable. You have to ask for your tofu to be fried. The rice was under cooked and not sticky. I would say this is not the worst Thai food I've had but it is definitely in the bottom five. I'm not sure they care or put happy in their food. read more

I did a simple Pad ka Prow with Chicken and it was good. Heavy on onions, which I fortunately like. Especially for $6.95 at lunch. That included a little veggie spring roll. Sister's had visible cabbage and carrots in hers. I couldn't taste or find any filling at all in mine, but that didn't stop me from chowing down on it's crunchiness. They also had some interesting dessert options that I've never seen in a Thai restaurant before. They let us sample their fried cookies. Made with almond flour and coconut milk. Very tasty. They sell them for $5 a bag. Would have loved to have room left to try their Thai Doughnuts. They sure sound and look good! Ordered take out a week or so ago. Said I'd be there in 30 minutes. I was 5 min late. Took 4 different servers asking, 4 different times and waiting 15+ minutes to finally have them come tell me they must have given my food to someone else or someone took it from the door dash cabinet (why was my food there to begin with?) and I could either wait 20 minutes for them to remake it (I'd already waited about 55 minutes since ordering) or just get a refund. My husband was returning from a deployment and that would have been our special dinner but no food and I couldn't wait I was already going to be late to meet him because they didn't have my food. The food was delicious the first time we tried it so I was so excited then extremely let down. I am giving them 3 stars to balance out the fact that our experience was so good our 1st visit. However they really made a huge mistake with my order this 2nd time. They should have offered me some kind of gift card or something not just wait another 20 minutes or here's your money back. After reviewing the menu I decided to have an appetizer party:) enjoy the following reviews-- Fresh Roll - super yummy light, bright and four words.....sweet vinegar peanut sauce, I could lick this sauce off cardboard:) I could imagine three of these as lunch in the summer-- perfection! Som Tom Thai Salad- tasty but spicy for my taste ( only a glass of wine on the table + unexpected spicy = hello! ) Satay Chicken - least favorite, chicken needs more flavor but sauces were tasty Tom Yum Soup- second favorite of the night.
