Went to lunch and the portions were good size and food was good but we found a fly in our lettuce for the larb and showed them but they still charged us for the larb and then when we went to pay the machine asked if we wanted to add extra gratuity. I know I should wait until I've been to a restaurant a few times to review it but this meal was so good and also a dish that I order to compare Thai restaurants that I'd be quite surprised if they didn't make everything else equally good. The graw pow (garlic basil) with chicken -- options include ground chicken -- was a generous portion of delectable chicken and veggies (zucchini, bell pepper, onion) with a thick spicy sauce with just the right hint of sweetness. The chicken is sliced thin so it can soak up the flavor and you can see the chili flakes in the sauce that coats it. The onions are cooked perfectly, see through but slightly crunchy. Rice is separate so be sure to order a side of it. The side of jasmine rice was enough for two people to share or if you're like me and you love rice, slightly more than enough. The Thai iced tea comes out in a mason jar filled to the brim and is addictingly flavorful and sweet. I liked the attention to detail: gold silverware, dark ceramic rice bowl, flowery plates, bamboo tablecloth pattern, decorative pillows along the wall seating. But some of the design elements clash with each other. It doesn't detract from the pleasant look and feel of the interior but I was curious about some of those pairings. read more

Randomly selected this place because it was close to my location. I was pleasantly surprised. The crab fries rice was and having the crab legs with it was a major bonus. My only problem was the sauce they served to did crab legs in tasted like a sweet cilantro vinaigrette and i prefer something more savory. My friend had the pad thai and that was actually good too. I've eaten in the restaurant and ordered delivery a few times and nothing has been disappointing in the least. I particularly love the pad thai and the stir fry with ginger. Portions are great and it is easy to share. The limeade thai tea is really something special; I still crave it. None of the entrees come with rice, which is totally fine but it's easy to forget to order some! Tumi is amazing! I met Tumi back in 2015/2016 when she was beginning her Thai catering business. I had her cater one of my sorority events for up to 400 guests! In 2023, I came back to Tumi to cater my sister's surprise bridal shower of 45 guests. She never disappoints and is a lovely person to work with! The food is delicious and the portions are large. Tumi has an infectious personality that is positive, helpful, and she provides a white glove customer experience always. Pad Thai was very saucy, good but I personally prefer a little less tamarind. The texture of the noodles was perfect. Came with a decent amount of chicken but was a bit dry. Moo ping appetizer came with 4 skewers, and was a good size. It was a bit dry as well but decent flavor. Thai table was on a very cute area in Berkeley near lots of other restaurants. It's a fairly small restaurant and seems to have a decent amount of regulars. The menu featured a lot of dishes not usually offered at other thai restaurants. The pad kee mao did not disappoint. It was spicy and well made, but I did not travel well. In the course of only a few months we've now been here twice for dine in lunch; three times for take out lunch; three times for dine in dinner and twice for take out. But, trying to earn that Elite badge compels me to write more and be more expansive: This is a small, maybe 20 seat interior not too far off 80 east, on University Ave, left hand side. Plenty of street parking, and we've never had an issue. There are several tables outside available, though being not too far from the Bay, if you want outside, bundle up, even though there are heat lamps. The soups, served in either metal pots over a burner or in clay pot, are hot, hearty, not stingy and full of fresh, bold flavors. The Spicy Seafood Thai Street Food Tom Yum is just yum: the lemongrass, galangal and kaffir leaves create a pungence for your nose and vibrance for your tongue and stomach, and propel the fresh seafood flavors packed within. Fresh and citrusy bright are the Thai Papaya Salad and the Mango Salad. My wife is a Pad See Ew nut. She ranks this as among the best in the nation (it vies with a little food truck in Bozeman, Mt for USA's best in her book). Favorites for me are the Spicy Seafood Mix and the Panang Beef Curry (the latter giving Kao Sarn a run for its money). Portions are large - it's family style. So, amid an inflationary run, you will not feel like you have not received your money's worth. While this review may not earn me Yelp Elite and I know it does not do justice to Thai Table, do take my word for it: this is some of the best Thai food in the Bay. Periodt. This place has serious potential!! They were understaffed, very busy, and receiving lots of takeout orders while we were there so the service was quite slow. We ordered the Panang beef ($18, generous portion, tender beef and flavorful broth), khao soi ($16, huge, delicious), and basil eggplant with beef ($15, eh, very little eggplant and mostly other assorted veggies for a dish with eggplant in its name). They surprised us with a mango sticky rice and happy birthday song at the end! Our favorite neighborhood Thai recently closed (Sabuy Sabuy 2), so we've been looking for a new spot. We found this spot after looking for restaurants in the area near 4th street, and were super pleased with the experience! They were able to seat our party of 5 on a Friday night immediately. The interior of the restaurant is super cute and decorated nicely, and the waitress was so polite and friendly as well! I ordered the pad see ew with chicken, which was delicious. The noodles were all well flavored and there was plenty of chicken and Chinese broccoli inside the dish as well. I also sampled some of my friend's curry which was great too! Well, the pandemic claimed many beloved restaurants (RIP Au Coquelet), but gave us some new ones, too. I don't know when Thai Table opened, but me and my old man stumbled upon it only today. This review is based on a single meal. The high ceiling and the fact that front and back doors were open made for good air circulation and a sense of space and airiness. It was a comfortable indoor dining experience. The photorealistic floral mural on the dark blue wall opposite the kitchen establishes a sense of calm despite the inevitable bustle of a good restaurant. It's a lovely space. So, the food! The fried calamari was almost perfect with its light, crunchy coating, but was just a tiny bit over cooked. It did pair really well with my glass of pineapple juice, though. The Papaya and Larb Pork Salads that followed were excellent. To finish, we couldn't resist trying the mango sticky rice, cleverly made with black rice. Intoxicating, enchanting, and simply delightful. I will never forget my first time coming to Thai Table - it was my first night in Berkeley and we wanted to get dinner. Thai Table seemed an unassuming, safe option. I was not prepared for the pure ecstasy of my experience to come. The space is intimate; from your table, you can see basically everything, including the kitchen. During nighttime, it's almost like they transition from a casual restaurant to a club, with dark lighting and neon lights and dance music. Although this as a concept seems odd for a dining experience, it really was a great surprise that only enhanced the experience. As for the food, everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Everything from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts seems like it was put together with care and thought. I love complementing my meal with their coconut Thai tea and finishing the meal with a mango sticky rice dessert, probably my favorite thing on the menu. In short, everything feels fresh and exciting, and the taste does not disappoint. The staff has always been wonderfully kind and attentive, which is hard to do given how hectic the atmosphere can get. I decided to get delivery and ordered a pineapple cashew fried rice (vegetables and tofu) and fried banana with Thai tea ice cream- they ran out of the Thai tea flavor, so I had to get coconut ice cream instead. The fried rice was fresh and flavorful, definitely wanted to keep eating it, and the ingredient amounts were well-balanced enough that I didn't feel like there were too many of the vegetables I liked such as cucumbers. Thai Table was a good experience. My friends and I were searching for a place for a late lunch. It was 2:30pm, when we were coordinating plans, and we were happy to discover that Thai Table opened their doors at 3:30pm for dinner service. We spent a good 30-45 minutes walking along the 4th Street area, right before the restaurant opened. It was fairly easy to find the location, as it was right off the freeway. Further, parking was plentiful, as it was located a short distance away from some of the more popular stores, shops, and restaurants along University Avenue. I ordered a Khao Soi with Chicken Drumstick ($15.95), as I was a bit hungry and wanted to try Thai Table's interpretation. My friends all go their foods first and graciously waited as mine arrived. We all seemed to have the same issues - random pieces of food would be scalding hot, while some of the other items would feel like it was recently defrosted. The varying temperatures was very noticeable and made me question how fresh or made to order some of the items were. I had noticed that the Khao Soi was a bit lacking in certain things. The chicken drumstick wasn't very flavorful, nor was the coconut/curry soup. I asked the server if they had chili, but they only carried bird's eye chili, for an additional cost. No thanks - I mainly wanted some paste or flakes to give the soup a little kick. The noodles were a bit soggy, and although the flavor (albeit bland) was about right. It ended up being a bit more involved, so I ended up leaving the dish, half-way eaten, as my friends seemed to have finished their dishes a lot earlier than me. All-in-all, it was alright. Somewhat forgettable of a dining experience. The food was satisfying, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Truly top Thai in Berkeley! It's a simply elegant little place with journeys into traditional and improvisational ingredients that made for a big surprise wow of an evening. This is the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. My #1 best of all time was a restaurant in Chang Mai Thailand but that's quite a trek so Thai Table it is from now on! I live near Solano Avenue so I tend to default to Bangkok Jam because it's easy. No more! They're a perfectly ok restaurant but Thai Table is next level. I used Caviar to order shrimp pad thai, beef pad see ew, yellow curry with white rice on the side, and mango sticky rice. Everything arrived piping hot. Portions are so generous we had leftovers for 3 days! Everything was delicious but I'm a pad thai fanatic so this was by far my favorite dish, though the yellow curry came very close. This wasn't just the best Thai food I've had in the Bay Area, but one of the best overall meals I've had since living here. You could tell that everything was made from scratch using fresh, high quality ingredients. With a lot of Thai places, you can tell that they use pre-made pastes for their curries, but that wasn't the case here. Real depth of flavor in every dish. Was craving Thai food, specifically yellow curry, and this place exceeded my expectations! I thought it was just going to be a cute hidden little restaurant, but this place was decked out with beautiful decor so they definitely know what's up. The food was amazing and really hit the spot. Along with the curry I got coconut taro puffs that were delicious and flakey, and I had to try the mango sticky rice which was also very good. But to top it off the staff is SO sweet and constantly checking in and were attentive, warm, and welcoming.
